Customers are delighted by the 5.8 cu. ft. Slide-in Gas Chef Collection Range's exceptional convection cooking, consistent performance, and ease of use. Many appreciate its stylish appearance and the abundance of features, including a convenient warming drawer. While some users note that the stainless steel finish is prone to scratches, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.

The range itself is great, so much better than my previous builders' grade range. It is a slide in, so the top is supposed to sit level with the counters, but the adjustable feet on this range don't quite adjust enough for all counter situations. My counters are 3/4 of an inch lower than standard counters, and this range cannot be lowered enough to sit flush with the counter. This is merely a cosmetic issue and not a cause for me to return it. I haven't had any problems with it so far. It is very easy to keep clean. It is easy to control heat for proper cooking. I have no complaints about the range itself. However, the big issue I had was with Best Buy's installation service. I had everything scheduled and took a day off of work, since I was given a windows of 8am to 8pm. But the installation company that Best Buy uses, XPO, called and said they couldn't meet my confirmed and guaranteed day. They even went as far as saying that Best Buy isn't allowed to schedule installations. I brought these issues back to my Best Buy sales rep and the store manager and they escalated the problem to get me some compensation for the issue. Honestly, I would not purchase another appliance at Best Buy with installation unless they change their installation vendor.

We are very happy with this purchase. It looks great and cooks even better. I read previous reviews talking about the noise made by the cooling fans. It does have a fan that runs for awhile after the oven is turned off, but it really doesn't bother us and our table is pretty close to the stove. I like the griddle for the middle for pancakes, grilled cheese and turkey burgers, but it does take quite awhile to heat up for pancakes. It is really thick and heavy. I used the convection feature of the oven the other day to do two sheets of cookies and it worked well.

We have only had this range a few days and only cooked a few meals on it but so far I am positively impressed. I like the choice of burner sizes and how quickly the oven comes up to cooking temperature. I baked a chicken dish using the convection function and I was happy with how the skin was brown and crispy while the meat was moist. The rack with ball bearings slides out so nicely. The warming drawer worked well keeping pancakes hot. I think the range look great to.

I really like my new gas chef series. Very nice control of the main burners, baking and roasting are spot on. Only items of concern -the center 5th griddle burner does not heat well. With all of the "fire" power of the other burners, this one disappoints. Will try it again, but my three attempts have left me moving to one of the other burners to complete the meal. Also I feel like I am always cleaning something off the stainless. I guess the Hazzard for beauty.

We have had this range for about a month and a half and have found it to be very good at baking and stove top cooking. Still getting used to convection baking since it is our first; but there doesn't seem to be that much of a learning curve. The controls are pretty easy to use and the overall look is great.

We were upgrading our kitchen appliances and wanted to go with all stainless steel. We wanted the built-in look and decided to pay the extra for a slide-in model. With the slide-in, there is the added convenience of not having to reach across the top burners to adjust settings.
After reading many reviews, we decided on another model. Just before we pulled the trigger, this model (next better) went on sale for about the same price and so we chose it. It was delivered on time, and installed, no problem. It looks great. The menu driven controls are easy to use. The range top burners are hot, easy to adjust and cooking is a breeze. Love it..
We're still getting used to using the oven. We tried baking a chicken, which ended up taking 2 hours instead of the one we expected. The oven kept going into convection mode, which is a bit noisy. Now we discover there is a roasting setting - I guess we should have used that instead. Still, the chicken came out great. Next we'll bake some cakes or cookies and see how that goes, but so far, we love the look in our kitchen. So stove top - excellent. Oven - we're still learning how to use it.

Easy installation (well, my neighbor did it for me)! My primary desire for this stove was the high BTU burner on this unit. Searing requires a very hot pan and this stove does the job. I have also oven cooked a few items on here, but I haven't had enough time with it to tell the difference between my very old unit and the new convection feature. I also did a nice sear on some Ribeyes and then finished them up in the oven at 400. Cleanup is pretty easy. Display is nice and controls are logical.

As I said, a very versatile oven, more than meets expectations and we would have given this 5 stars if:
1) the top surface was a little more durable, The stainless steel is easily scratched
2) the timer tone was louder. It is almost inaudible unless you are in the kitchen near the stove and there is no way to increase the volume.
However, we do like it a lot and it performs well.

This range works excellent. Looks very professional and cooks very well too. The wok ring is a huge plus and really helps because I have a large round bottom wok.

Beautiful Top of The Line Range w/ Great Features

I am very happy with this Top of the Line Stainless Steel Chef's Range. It looks great and has a very large oven viewing window. The 9550 model is the Chef Collection model. it has a better racking system and better looking handles and knobs than the 9500 model and a 19,000BTU burner. spend the money on this one vs the 9500 if you can find a way to afford it.
Note 1: the manual says not to line the bottom drawer with Aluminum Foil .
Note 2: it doesn't look like it would look very good if aluminum foil was placed around the range top burners to catch drips, the way we used to do with lower end ranges from yesteryear. we always did this to make clean up fast and easy. i mention this because my big worry is that if i'm not very careful, or someone else cleaning up isn't very careful, that the beautiful stainless steel finish will get scratched.. so far though, when any food has dropped near the burners, it has been easy enough to clean it off later on after the area has cooled, with a sponge and water. so far so good!
Note 3: I also highly suggest buying a GeekSquad Extended Warranty, as dealing with Samsung for service on a previous lower end model of their range line, was quite frustrating. GeekSquad really saved the day for me, even though the process took some time.
Note 4: Samsung just came out with a Black Stainless Steel model similar to this, that is Internet Connected, so one can turn it on and adjust the temperature when out of the house. That's a cool "Internet of Things" feature that some may want, but Samsung doesn't offer this feature in the higher end finished Chef's Collection line yet.
Note 5: Prior to install, be aware that the Gas Connection is on the lower bottom left side. Also, this model requires a 120volt outlet, not the 220volt that most Electric Ranges require.
Note 6: Enhancement Request: I'd like to see an internal rotisserie available in this and other models. (not sure any manufacturer yet offers this)
Note 7: LG offers a 2 yr warranty, while most other manufacturers only provide a 1 yr warranty. Given that the Manufacturer's warranties don't seem to be so good anyway, and that this range had better features and better styling, i chose this one and added the Geeksquad warranty.
Note 8: There is an available matching style Over The Range Microwave made by Samsung with a 430 CFM Exhaust Fan. It looks good, but doesn't have all the available features that some of the other Samsung Microwaves offer, such as brioling and convection cooking. Note to Samsung: Please bring all of the best available features to your Chef Collection products.

I've had this stove for 3 month and I really love it. Everyone that visits always comments how nice looking it is and is very surprised that it is a Samsung.
