I purchased this TV to replace the 32" one I had throughout college. It's amazing. I didn't realize what I was missing out on. The picture is so clear, the speakers are amazing, and the Smart part is wonderful. There are so many great apps and they are all quick to open/load and use. So happy I purchased this TV.

This TV has almost perfect picture quality which when combined with automotion makes the picture look as close to 3D without having 3D. This is also known as the "soap opera" effect. I enjoy the standard setting on some blue rays but as another review stated. It makes the picture look almost fake. I primarily use this tv with my PS4 for games and some netflix and it works great for all games the TV's picture is fantastic. If using for console gaming I highly recommend turning on "GAME MODE" in order to reduce input lag. The sound is ok but leaves much to be desired and will be purchasing a sound bar soon as it is not as loud as I would like. The smart TV features are nice but all of the apps are available on PS4 so I have no real use for the smart aspect of this TV. 120hz definitely helps and makes a difference. I recommend this tv for gaming mostly and some media.

My basic requirements were 65 inch screen and the ability to have streaming channels since we cut out cable/satellite. We use Netflix, Hulu, CBS, Sling, and CW as our primary viewing sources and had been using a Roku. I was looking for a smart tv to replace the Roku.
Walking into Best Buy, pretty much all the TVs in this class have a great picture. I think that if you are a purest, you might look at extreme contrast situations, etc. However, I just want a tv that looks great to me. The Sony definitely met that criteria. To be honest, for the picture quality, if I had 3K to spend, I might opt for the LG OLED as that (at least in store) seemed to have the best picture. But looking at Sony, Samsung, and Vizio, the Sony seemed on par or slightly better.
Probably more important was the smart feature. I checked the platforms used by the major brands. Samsung has their own apps, LG uses Web OS, and Vizio has their own apps. Sony uses Android TV. Sony won in my book as all the apps I needed were natively supported already, with the exception of CW. Since I have CW on an Android device, I assumed it was available on Android TV but it isn't. However, I can cast from my tablet/phone to the TV so it is still a win.
I also wanted to be sure to have enough HDMI inputs and wanted to ensure one was an ARC port so I could route to the sound bar. I had decided to get a sound bar (Vizio 5.1, reviewed separately) and using the HDMI port was a plus, although optical output was also viable. This TV has 4 HDMI 3 USB, optical out, coax digital out, and then the composite, component, and coax connections. So definitely a solid ability to connect pretty much any device. That, plus the ability to cast to the tv gives really good flexibility to me.
Sound was not an important aspect since I was planning to use the soundbar since I like the surround experience. However, when I first turned on the TV and was checking things, I noticed the sound seemed pretty good. It sounded a lot fuller than the Samsung 50 inch we had just bought for another room. So you might give a good listen, it might be just fine for your listening needs.
The remote works great for now. It controls all the tv features nicely. As I use HDMI to connect to the soundbar, the sound gets controlled through the Sony remote as well so for 95% of my current usage, I am using one remote. In my prior set up with an AV receiver, Roku, and TV, I had a harmony hub and enjoyed one remote. I also have a blue ray player attached and use a separate remote but we only use that once a month or so and going two remotes isn't an issue.
I am happy with this purchase and would recommend to a friend, or even a total stranger such as yourself.
FYI, Sony has this model and then one that is like 400 more. I stood there pondering and asked the Best Buy rep about the more expensive model. The pictures looked identical. He told me the more expensive model had a faster processor. And then he said he'd get the cheaper one as well since they both looked the same. So I appreciate that I was not pushed to get more than I really needed. I would have bought the more expensive model if there was a tangible (for me) difference. Maybe if you are a gamer that might matter; not sure. So consider that as well.

This TV may not be UHD but the picture is very nice. All of the smart features that would normally require a Roku or similar device are on-board with a user friendly interface. One thing to note, I think this is only a 2.5GHz WiFi connection and it tends to loose signal easily. I would use a wired network connection if possible.

Pros
1) Easy to setup - worked instantly with my cable TV with minimal color configuration
2) Smart TV - easy to setup wireless, requires Samsung account
3) 50% cheaper than Amazon
Cons
1) This TV is a little overpriced. Should be $500 for 1080p.
2) Very plain look.

It was a Perfect fit for a customer project that required available equipment with a great picture. Light weight made the installation of (4) TV's on same wall easier than expected. Client appreciated the energy star rating for reduced power cost at Facilty. The set up and programming was very user friendly. I would buy again for future projects.

Bought during the pre christmass sales, attracted by some of the other brands pricing. However while comparing the picture quality the Samsung appeared to be the best. After set up at home I was not disappointed. The smart features were easy to use. Paid a little more. but have no regrets.

This is a great TV for the money. After really checking out all my options HD to 4k, I decided on this TV. If you are looking for a TV with 120Hz with a great quality picture but don't want to splurge on 4k yet, you cannot beat the TV you get for the money here. The only other thing I should mention is that I have found that you need to turn up the backlight (not the brightness) a little for it to not appear too dark compared to other TV's.

The picture and sound quality are very good on this Samsung Model.
I did have an issue when we first connected to DirecTV's Genie Whole House DVR. The Picture was "Jerky" on some programs and OK on others.
Found by going to the Picture Settings > Picture Options > and Shut OFF the "Auto Motion" resolved the problem. Surround Sound setting actually is pretty good.

I really like the TV, it was a breeze to setup. I like the sound and picture. The smart TV setup is easy, but Netflix seems to have some small problems with the Sound not synching with the picture. It happened a few times, but easily fixed by moving out/in of the program.

Bought the Samsung 50 on sale. My sons has 40 class in his room. Just moved to a bigger home I had to spoil my self with a smart TV. Should have waited another month could have bought the 55 class. Otherwise the TV is well worth the price. Can't go wrong with Samsung.

Good picture and we got a good price after Thanksgiving. It is a good mid-level TV if you don't want to spend a lot but want a big screen. Smart technology is pretty cool with internet, Netflix, etc.

This Samsung smart TV is the best overall TV I have owned so far. The picture is very clear and sharp. Set up was very easy even for me. The sound is better than I have experienced on my other slim TVS.

Needed a TV after my 10 year old plasma stopped working. Didn't need all the bells and whistles just solid tv, picture but wanted smart. The Samsung is a great buy, Greta pic, smart technology, ok sound but works well with the sound bar I already had.

I found this TV to be a very good value and east to set up. Perhaps due to it's price point it has a few less plug ins than I would have liked, but it still has great features and I would buy it again. Samsung tech support is also great and they are willing to help without long wait times.

I have always bought Samsung TVs because they have the best picture and are easy to operate. This one did not disappoint. Crystal clear picture as always. I also bought a 55 inch with this one. Both are spot on perfect in performance.

If I had not done a product review and based my rating on the length of time I've had the T.V., I would have given it a 5 rating instead of a 4(Plus)star. The picture, screen and sound quality are good. I am happy to have a smart TV. The major apps are a plus. Bravo for my new TV!
