Fantastic TV with a Big Wifi Glitch

The picture, sound and overall performance of this set is fantastic. I even really like the smart remote which works well after you learn how to use it. I would have given a 5 star review for this TV except for one important glitch with its networking function. The wifi streaming on this TV works well when connected to the internet. It easily connects to the wifi through the wifi set-up, and will remain connected as long as the TV remains turned on. The big issue with this set is that the wifi connection is lost every time the set is turned off. It does not automatically reconnect when turned on again. Instead, you have to manually log in to the wifi each time the set is turned back on. My best guess is that for some reason the TV does not seem to retain the wifi password when turned off. Others have complained about this exact same problem, but others haven't. It may be an incompatibility with certain routers, or maybe there was a batch of manufactured units that have a defective component. Either way, it is a Samsung issue that needs to be corrected. I spent weeks troubleshooting the problem and Samsung support was unhelpful. I finally exchanged the set hoping there was a defect with my particular unit, but the new set is having the same problem. This TV replaced a prior model Samsung TV that never had this wifi problem, and I have many other devices in my home (including other Samsung TVs) that do not have this issue. I have always liked my Samsung products and hope that Samsung stands behind this product and comes up with a repair or firmware fix that resolves this network glitch.

    Great TV for the Price

I picked this up on an early Black Friday deal of the day at an excellent price. This is a budget 4K UHD HDER TV, so I knew what I was buying. I purchased it for a bedroom to replace an old 1080i 65” rear projection TV. First off we have more room in the bedroom now as you can imagine. We don’t have cable in the bedroom so we just you the built in Apps like Amazon, Netflicks, HBO go etc to watch tv. I also pickup an extra Xbox One S for the 4k Blue Ray capabilities. For the price, I repeat for the price the picture is more than I expected, lush, bright, colorful and sharp. I watched Batman vs Superman UHD Disc last night with my son. The picture was great, the colors although a dark film where solid, bright and had depth. Very pleased, however I dropped one star, it seems to have motion flickering on fast moving content. We only see this on the built in Apps watching shows, I have 100mb FiOs, TV is wired to gigabit router so it’s not buffering. It’s flickering/juddering type effect on fast moving parts. The good news, it does not do this while watching UHD 4k disc via the Xbox One S or playing gears of war (came with Xbox). The other reason for the dropped star is only one HDR supported HDMI input. I was going to pick up a 4k Amazon TV but it’s pointless with the Xbox already taking the HDR input. Wish it had more HDR inputs. Other than that I really like the TV and the price was unbeatable. I would stick with Samsung when it’s time to replace my Sony main TV in the living room and go with an SHUD.

I was fortunate to get this TV during black Friday for under 400 dollars so I am going to skip the cons since they are minimal and the pros certainly outweigh them. Bluetooth? Awesome for connecting a Keyboard and Headphone! Score :) SmartTV I can watch my content from Amazon, Netflix and Google, score again. The Sound Level for a TV this thin, WOW! The simplistic remote? Yes! Plays all of the movies I have added to my USB stick, Score again! The futuristic look when it shuts down, cool! Controlling the TV using the Samsung App, ugh -Awesomeness! The last TV I bought was a 42" 1080p and not a single feature other than a tuner and I paid 850.00 in 2009. I am super happy with my purchase. I think that even if I paid the 699.99 current price I would still be a happy camper!

Great 1st 4K tv for the price

Upgraded to this tv from a vizio 50' LED smart tv. It's my first real 4K tv and works great with my Xbox One S, just make sure HDMI is in port one for the 4K to fully work. I also noticed the great difference in the display when using my apple tv(gen 1) to stream my macbook pro to it. I was using Lightroom to look at my work and i noticed the extra detail i didn't get on my retina display 15'. The sound is much better too. Might add a sound bar in a year or so, but for now the speakers work great for it being a bedroom tv on a entertainment stand. The remote was able to hook up to my Xbox One S and Apple TV so i don't always have to use my controller for watching Netflix or Hulu apps which i enjoy a lot. The TV overall is a great first 4K TV with great features and I would recommned this to anyone looking for their first 4K tv as well.

I finally chose to take that step into a big screen 4k tv.I was not disappointed.Very easy to set up and start watching right away.I'm also a huge fan of video games so the t.v pairs well with my ps4 so far.I also use it for netflix and a few other streaming apps.everything runs great with beautiful rich colors.Switching between gaming and watching movies is fast and easy and the tv even has apps to play even more games. The best part is you can use the ps4 controller for it.I'm glad I bought this tv and I have nothing bad to say about it so far.

This is a really good tv. Picture quality is excellent. If you want a mid range 4k tv this is what you should get. Its not the best tv, the motion blur isn't the greatest for 24p movies as there is some judder, but for $649 (i paid $629) its definitely worth it. Its fantastic for video games as long as you enable game mode. Its way better then anything else in this price range or cheaper.

This is my first 4k tv. I ordered it online during black friday and it was delivered this past friday. So i've only had it for a the weekend and so far so good. The picture is beautiful. Watched a couple of 4k shows on netflix's and youtube. Amazing. Of course I had to play with some of the picture settings to get it just right, but thats how it is with all tv's. Must check out the 4k movies on amazon. Its also amazing. I have notice a little tiny bit of judder while watching some tv shows via Playstation Vue BUT i fixed it with adjusting some settings. Amazing tv...love all the features..love that the tv recognizes everything thats plugged into it...love the smart remote. The craziest thing is that there are better samsung tv's then this but cost $500 dollars more. Great TV for the price. BTW the HDR on this tv is deeeecent. I know its way better on other TV's but this ok. I'll wait till i get a PS4 pro to see if it really matters.

I am plenty pleased with my new TV. I decided to forego Vizio by ten inches for this model. I made the right choice. Set up was quick and painless (10-15mins) People on a budget will appreciate this model and size (50). The sound is great, the features are fitting (google apps please?)i have chromecast so im still good. The picture is phenomenal. The smart remote has a learning curve but this TV will be more than good for enough people for the next 4-5 years. More inputs would be nice but i got a remote hdmi expansion port so it doesn't matter. two usb ports is great (not 3.0) but a/c internet connected to my wireless router which is connected to my external harddrive makes up for this. Prepare to not be social for awhile if you are a gamer/ tv binger/nerd.

    4K UHD LED TV

TV sound settings need to be adjusted to "movie" or "music" setting to get nice sound. Con 4K TV flat screen with built in speakers distorted and crackled at level 65 while watching the new and most recent Star Wars movie. If you like playing YouTube music and want to hear the bass. You will need to purchase a sound bar or a home theater system. I purchased a Bose sound bar that sounds really awesome even with deep bass. Never distorts which is a huge plus when your listening YouTube music or watching digital or blue-ray movies. Note: If you change your viewing mode like "sports" or "game" It will affect your sound quality settings so be sure to turn that mode off when not viewing sports or playing games. The built in WiFi has a strong signal even if your 25 feet away from your modem/router. The stand is strong and stable, but the button head screws are easily damaged when assembling the TV stand. No replacement screws are given in box.

I've been a Vizio consumer since "flat panel high definition television" became a thing. But their "SmartCast" concept is ridiculous - why should I HAVE to use a tablet or smartphone to beam Netflix to my TV? Doesn't seem SMART to me. Enter Samsung's 6-series 4K UHD TVs. This TV is amazing! It replaced my 42" 1080p Vizio Smart TV, as I wanted something bigger in my smallish living room (moved the Vizio into my bedroom). So of course 4K/UHD is a step up from FHD - but honestly the difference is tremendous. I think the impact moving to 4K was the same for me as when I bought my first HD TV moving up from tube television. The display is crisp & ultra-clear; like many other TV brands you have the option to choose from presets or fine-tune manually. There are "upconvert" options to improve the visuals from lower-quality sources - this made a huge difference with my Blu Ray player & my movies have never looked better (watched all the new "Star Trek" ones this weekend). The speakers are much better than on my Vizio TV: they're down-firing speakers but they fill my living room without having to turn the volume too high. Also, the TV turns on/off FAST, a major plus for me. I used to power the Vizio on & could walk to the kitchen to grab a drink before anything appeared on the screen. This Samsung TV offers the current "typical" set of smart applications (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Accuweather, Pandora, Spotify) and a lot more pre-installed - web browser included - plus plenty to download and install. The TV has bluetooth so you can pair a keyboard to it. In addition, it has Smart View which allows you to beam media from a smartphone or tablet to the TV (IF you want to: refer to my previous "SmartCast" mention). If there is a "con" it's only something that I've encountered with both Samsung and Vizio & I'm sure is the case with many TV brands: finding many of the optional settings turned on by default. Initially, whenever I turned the TV on, it displayed the smart app window at the bottom. You had to either exit or wait several seconds for it to go away. Good news is that you can disable this feature in the menu; but I wish the default setting was to NOT do that. And bear in mind that HDMI-CEC is on by default: by having a receiver or some media devices (Blu Ray or DVD player) connected via HDMI, it means that when you turn such a device on the TV will automatically change its input and other settings prepping to use that device. For some folks that may be great: but I have a bunch of devices connected to run thru my receiver.... So when I would turn the receiver on the TV would default it to my Blu Ray player - but actually half the time I'm intending to launch the XBox; other times the PlayStation; other times just to fire TV audio through my receiver speakers. So for me the CEC option is bad; but in the menu you can find and turn the setting off. Just wish it was off by default! This is a great TV and I foresee many years of joy with it. Best Buy recently had a markdown so the price was ideal for me and I jumped on it.

I almost talked myself into returning this before I even unboxed it because I kept reading that there is very little discernible difference between 4k and 1080 until you get over 60 inches. What a bunch of baloney that was. The sharpness and detail is outstanding. Miles above my other high end samsung 1080 boxes. I suspect it may have something to do with the up scaling but rewatching things on this set it becomes very apparent that the definition is truly on a different level than 1080 regardless of the source. On the con side very fast motion can blur a bit, nothing major but noticeable. Also fine print and thin lines blur a bit as well. Anyways I was fully prepared to take it back if it didn't blow me away and not only is it staying but it's hard to watch the 1080 tv's now.

I am using it about 2 month ... Actually I am happy about everything about it ! (Products usually cant make me happy easily because I always try to find errors and bugs :-D) I did not expect such this powerful speakers... as a musician this TV speakers are powerful and with high quality enough to enjoy movies ... . it also connect easily and true to wifi and other devices. . Just one thing: If you dont want to set it on the wall. Its stand is somehow weak to put it on the tv table...(it is ok when you dont change the position too much) screen/contrast/brightness/resolution are good... even when windows are open and there are a lot of sunlight . Also Best buy delivered my 4 5 items very fast and everything is good. thank bestbuy

I'm admittedly a bit of a Samsung loyalist when it comes to televisions. This is my 3rd Samsung TV, and once again, I was not disappointed. For the price paid, you really can't go wrong. I'll admit, a "fancier" HDMI cable is a must with this set. You're only doing yourself a disservice if you settle for a cheap one, I learned this lesson pretty quickly. Set is a bit wobbly, but still solid on its base. Would definitely recommend mounting versus the stand, but I'm making do with what I have. The smart remote took a little getting used to, but I'm actually quite happy with it. Definitely different that what I'm used to, and it's replaced my standard cable box remote (thank the heavens). Highly recommend this TV for anyone looking to upgrade from the 25"-35" range. I had a 27" before, I feel like I'm staring at a movie screen now. Great picture clarity, speakers work better and sound is better than I expected.
