Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overal disappointing. this is the first tv ive purchased in 10 years and i was expecting big things, but have been constantly disappointed. i didnt want a smart tv but thats all they offer now (id rather plug my own device in, to avoid software expiring). the software is slow to respond and i cant quickly switch between programs on different platforms. the operation is not intuative - if i struggle being an older millennial, i cant imagine how hard it is for older folks. it doesn't have all the apps (fox sports go not available, which is the only source for most local sports). it has only 2 hdmi ports. also, its too dark most of the time, even at the brightest setting and all lights off in the room. the sales staff didnt know about it and instead made stuff up. i was told i could do picture in picture from my samsung cell phone which is not true (theres no pip for anything). i also hate uhd. i think it looks tacky, takes good movies and makes them look like low budget soap operas. alot of my issues are probably industry trends and will be encountered with all brands, but i wouldnt start with a samsung.

There are several image settings you can adjust to your liking such as Picture Mode and Expert Settings.
- Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic
- You can further adjust your sharpness, brightness, contrast, color, tint, contrast, white balance, and more by going to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings
Additionally, you can try the following steps to eliminate the soap opera effect.
- Navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity Settings
- The default setting is Auto. This means the feature automatically turns on and off based on the type of program being watched. Change the setting to either Off or Custom.

We are very happy with its ease of operation, especially for those of us who are not electronic whizzes. The picture clarity it is amazing. I just wish there was a remote with a larger format for the visually impaired. It is hard for my husband to operate the remote.

Sound is very good. This TV comes with several apps installed. I like the remote control. I’m glad that Samsung hasn’t changed their remote controls, because of my familiarity to them. Very good value for the price. I would definitely recommend and buy again.

Perfect size, not to big and defiantely not too small. Sometimes if a TV is too large it takes over whatever else you have going on in that space. Picture is clear. The TV is light weight, we mounted it to our wall with easy and great results. Samsung is a popular brand in our household! Very pleased with our purchase. :)

Not bad for the bedroom

The picture quality isn’t noticeably less than the 8. For the price being under $500 for a 50” smart TV with a good picture, you can’t go wrong. Configure voice command with your google home and add a wall mount and you’re golden!
