Just average. Works for movies. However terrible TV if you watch sports (specifically football and basketball). All the players look pixelated. Tried multiple different settings to fix with no luck. Wouldn’t recommend if you watch sports or fast paced.

Probably the last Samsung tv I’ll ever buy. Advertising all over front screen with streaming in very small bottom left hand side. Volume is awful for streaming also. Volume has to be 90 to 100 to hear. Took back out of my family room and put in my garage. Don’t waste your money.

      Hi Gipp,

I'm sorry to hear that the CU8000 TV did not live up to your expectations. Please know that your feedback will be shared with our internal teams.

There are several volume features you can adjust, which may improve your audio experience.

      1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume.

      2) Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> All Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.

      3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Mode

Also, some sources have their own volume control, which might need to be set higher. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.

      Hi KathleenS,

Thank you for letting us know about the issues you are experiencing with turning your CU8000 TV on and off.

Depending on your setup, it's possible the IR sensor is covered up, and your remote does not have a clear line to the TV. If this is not the case, please give us a call so we can troubleshoot the issue with you.

You can call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Extremely unhappy with this Samsung Smart TV. The Smart remote is not what I expected. I expected a remote with numbers. The ordinal remote to this TV is faceless. I’m returning this TV and hope Best Buy will accept it back without the original box.

      Hi Santinoman,

We appreciate your feedback on the CU8000 TV remote. Please know that you can control the volume of your TV by pressing the +/- button up to increase the volume and down to decrease the volume. To mute the sound, press the button. You can learn how to use your Samsung Remote by going to Home> (left directional button) Settings> Support> Remote Control Guide.

Samsung remotes are designed to be convenient and useful, but we understand if you’d prefer to use a third-party remote, whether it’s a universal remote, a game controller, or something else! Whether you are replacing a lost remote or using an alternative remote to help reduce clutter, a third-party remote is a great option to use to control your Samsung TV.

If you ever have questions or need help, Samsung is here for you! Give us a call at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

      Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Internet connectivity. If you’re experiencing issues with the Wi-Fi connection, we suggest you try running a cold boot on your TV. To do so, hold down the Power button on the Samsung TV remote until the TV turns off and then on again. This should take about 5 seconds.

Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update.

You can enable automatic updates for convenience.
Go to Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product.

We appreciate you sharing your experience with the 50" CU8000 TV. Your feedback regarding image quality is essential to us and will be shared with our internal teams. If the image you’re seeing isn’t to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to adjust.

Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and select the mode that best fits your usage:

      Hi NobleD,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the CU8000 TV’s image quality. If you’re uncomfortable with the default brightness settings, you can customize the brightness level between 0 – 50 to your preference. Go to Home > Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings > Brightness.

You can also try different Picture Modes to see which best fits your needs. Go to Home > Settings > All Settings> Picture > Picture Mode for the below choices:

      1) Standard: Default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
      2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
      3) Movie: Most suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
      4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
      5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

I hope you can use these adjustment recommendations to set the image to your liking.
