After having a 40" 1080P Samsung for the past 4 years, I decided to upgrade to something a little better and with 4K. I set it to filmmaker mode but thought it was a little dark. I switched to Dynamic mode and the colors were much brighter and crisper (like my old set) but the "soap opera" effect was distracting. So I went back to Filmmaker and set brightness to the maximum of 50. I also found a "minimum brightness" setting in the Power settings section. This made the picture a little brighter but it still wasn't crisp as the Dynamic mode. But it is good. The sound is also louder. My old TV was usually set to level 20 for most streaming apps. With this one, level 15 is loud enough. As far as the remote, there is no input button. No problem, the cable box and blu-ray player is right on the home screen next to the streaming apps. There is no exit button, but I found out that to exit an app all you have to do is press and hold the return button (the curved arrow) and you will close the app and go to the home page. I don't know what the buttons with the color dots is for, all the instructions say is that it's for certain functions. I couldn't even find a youtube video that showed what it does. I only had this for a day so I'm still getting used to it. And Samsung, don't tell me that to get better color go to settings--picture--etc. because once I get there I don't know exactly what level to set each thing. Perhaps increasing color saturation will perk things up?

A Bland but Affordable Entry Level TV

I bought this TV as a rush/stop-gap TV after my older (and I mean at least 2008-2009 Samsung LED 46 inch died). Considering the growth of TV technology since 2009 I thought this 4K UHD would be a spectacular if cheaper alternative. However, this TV is plain bland! First, no traditional audio connectors (this is a HDMI and Bluetooth only device). That necessitated buying a 3rd party accessory to allow my still working soundbar to connect. Second, installation of cable STB was a small pain in the backside. Detection took forever and on the first occasion the "Smart Remote" failed to work. Finally I had to reset to factory defaults and start again - second time was a charm! Third the remote that comes with this should really be called "feature may not work for your device". I ended up buying a replacement remote to compensate - thank god for aftermarket remotes - I find it really interesting the a Chinese aftermarket seller on Amazon built a better remote than Samsung and they were bootlegging a samsung remote! Finally the software (Tizen 2024) is a little clunky and slow. I know its been awhile since I had to do this stuff but I tested HDMI detection of the VMS STB on my old Samsung vs. this one and the old one was still much faster. The one MAJOR pro I kept shouting out is I paid $350 (including tax) for a 50 inch 4K UHD TV so I should have expected some feature compromises. The picture quality is good for an entry level TV, and you can optimize the software to get it to look very good, and TBH the upgrade from 46 inch 1080 LED to 50 inch 4K UHD is much better. Finally, I was really hoping to get at least 1 more year before buying a Samsung SC90/SD90 OLED TV so the sudden death of the old TV was really inconvenient. So this will be a good stand in while I decide if I do want to sped $1,800 plus on a TV. Right now I simply have more pressing budgetary priorities! This is an average 3/5 stars TV that just does what it says and very little else. AGAIN, you are really getting what you paid for so DO NOT expect it to do more than that. However if I had a little more budget flexibility, I would not recommend this over a Roku Pro 4K that may cost a little more and will give you more features and all the ports you need!

This Samsung 50” DU7200 is a whole experience. The 4K picture quality is stunning—vibrant, crisp, and smooth no matter what I’m watching. And the setup? If you already have a Samsung TV and the SmartThings app, it literally transfers your settings over in seconds. I was fully set up and streaming in under 10 minutes. The Tizen interface is super easy to use, the remote is responsive, and the whole thing just feels sleek. This is my 4th Samsung TV purchase and the picture quality never ceases to amaze

Great value TV! The picture is sharp with vibrant colors and smooth motion, perfect for streaming and everyday use. The smart features are easy to use, and I like the free Samsung TV Plus channels. Sound is decent but better with a soundbar, and dark scenes don’t look as deep as pricier models. Overall, an excellent 4K TV for the price!

Very clear picture and colors, the samsung ui is a little sluggish at times but overall we are satisfied with this tv. like every flat screen the sound is just ok, for better sounds results a soundbar is probably necessary.

Great price! Good picture quality! However, no optic connections and no RCA connections and the leg stands are too far apart. Only connections are Bluetooth! All else is good.

Great TV. The stars are for the TV. My Best buy experience was suboptimal though. The TV is great. Great quality, crisp picture and very easy to setup. Very moderately priced. My Best buy experience was with many bumps along the way. Purchased, refunded, ordered again. delayed delivery. Best buy can do better next time.

Good cheap(er) Basic Samsung TV. Purchased for the kids room. Good picture but isnt going to wow you, lacks the features TV's costing alot more do as you'd expect. Not sure its all that much better than the HiSense and TCL units in its class.

The quality of picture is great! I have windows facing the television and I the picture still shows very well. I love that Samsung has changed the sound associated with turning the tv on and off. The "chime" was way too loud and long-lasting. Now, its a softer "two-beat" sound instead of the long drawn out musical symphony it used to play. There is no sound when turning the tv off.

This was a replacement for an older Samsung TV. What an upgrade! An existing Samsung account and phone made setup a breeze. I was talked into spending a little more for a bigger TV and I'm so happy I did. Excellent bargain.
