Tv worked great for about a year and a half. The right side of the tv now has a flicker and is also darker than the rest of the tv. It will cost more to fix than replace.

I thought the process was going to be seamless. I ordered on line, had it shipped to my house. When I opened the box the tv was shattered. I had to get a truck so I could bring the delivered one back and exchange it. When I was in the store to do the exchange, the sales associate that brought the tv to the front cartwheeled the tv all the way from the back of the store to the front. These tv's are meant to stay upright. It was fine when I got it home. I won't have a tv shipped again. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The TV after one year became color defective on the lower 25% of the screen. Best Buy says no coverage over one year. Mfg is only 1 year. I paid too much for this issue. Could have gone elsewhere and got better coverage.

I didn’t have high expectations for this tv as it is a bargain “Black Friday” model. I blindly went and bought it, hooked it up and carefully went through settings for setup. Once I had everything set up and the picture adjusted correctly, I was actually wowed at the picture for the money. It has very accurate colors and a lot of good qualities I have seen in pricier models. Movie” picture mode was most accurate. **For watching HDR content via an HDMI connection, it is important to set the 'HDMI UHD Color' on for each HDMI input that will receive the HDR content. This will permit the HDMI port to transmit all the bandwidth needed for HDR** I use a new Roku 4K streaming stick which really compliments the tv well. Only complaint is, the tv only 2 hdmi inputs.

    Fantastic TV upgrade

I am not a frequent TV purchaser. However, whenever I do, I make sure to do extensive research on my purchase. Once again, Samsung does an amazing job with their TV. My previous TV was also from Samsung, though it was quite dated, being a 40’’ 720p display. Therefore, this TV was quite the upgrade and I am beyond pleased. The picture is extremely clear and colors are vibrant. My roommate has an LG UJ6300 which is pretty much the LG equivalent to this TV. When comparing the picture qualities, the Samsung seemed to be much better at making the black and dark colors pop out. I had purchased this during Black Friday and I had an employee tell me that this is a Black Friday model and they often downgrade the TV to justify the sale price. When comparing to the original model, the picture quality did not seem any different. Only difference is there’s one less HDMI port and there’s not a fancy remote, which I can easily live without. The only complaint I would have about this TV is in regards to using it with a gaming console. When switching between the game mode and the normal display mode to make movies look their best, the menu option. to do that is a bit annoying to get to. Though it’s not that bad and honestly this is a very petty complaint. I am definitely not one who is very picky with my TVs. Though, given the Black Friday price I paid for it ($399) and the size of the upgrade from my last TV I am absolutely pleased with my purchase. If you’re looking for that 4K upgrade without shoveling out ridiculous amounts of money for the most high end TVs (which in my opinion don’t make enough of a difference to justify the price gap), this is an astounding choice. I’ve yet to be let down by Samsung and I don’t think I’ll be disappointed anytime soon.

    Best budget 4k TV period

This is an excellent 4kTV. Let me makes this very clear it doesn’t have HDR support so if you have an Xbox one X,S and or any of the PS4 models “thanks to sonys updates” you won’t get HDR 10 support. This is my only negative because you can tell the money they saved by not supporting it went back into the screen itself. You do get a work around their is a fake HDR setting in the menus and it gets your very close with some fine tuning. Just be aware that this TV isn’t good for the people who are looking to figure proof themselves i recommend this TV as a secondary aka “throw it in the bedroom and or basement” But if you keep the HDR stuff in mind it’s worth every penny Please be aware of the picture i posted as it’s from a similar spec lg led tv and it came up with the same results. I was away from home and didn’t have time to take a screenshot

Good for price, compares well to it's competitors

Here is my bullet point by bullet point review. My main concerns when making this purchase were: -4K quality in comparison to competitors -Functionality without a streaming device - User interface to a small extent - Price (shopping on Black Friday) Got this TV for $399 pre-black Friday. Knew going into the purchase this was a mid range 4k smart TV, and it performs as advertised. 4K isn't phenomenal on native apps over wifi, but not your only connection option... and the Samsung UI is unreliable at best, apps frequently crash, though native Netflix and YouTube apps do work well, most anything else is buggy at best. Works as advertised. Pros: -4K Ultra HD is definitely there. Not going to compete with it's bigger brothers and sisters in the $750-$1000+ price range, but great quality compared to it's competitors in that price range. Cons: -You'll need an Ethernet connection to truly experience the 4K capabilities of your TV. I would also recommend a fire TV/Apple TV/ whatever but to each is own. It's not necessary. -You must keep track of your remote, or if you have a Samsung phone, keep Samsung Smart View on your phone. You'll get trapped in apps other wise, and I don't care what the manual says... maybe my button is broken, but holding the button down does not always force close the app, while it does sometimes. Neutral: -User interface definitely isn't as good as let's say LG's, but it is functional. Sometimes annoying to navigate, and a lot of apps crash frequently... In my experience, namely WWE network, HBO now, and the UFC app. Use a streaming device and you'll be fine. -As far as sound goes, this TV is right down the lines average. Once again, as advertised. Standard viewing you will have to turn it up about a quarter of the way (25-35/100), and whenever you're getting into what you're watching or you watch something that is... Quiet I guess? You'll have it up to 50-60. They definitely want you to buy their sound bar. - The TV has a tendency to want you to re-setup your internet connection despite nothing changing when using any one particular app for an extended period of time. Most likely related to apps that crash, not to endorse the default apps further but in the interest of disclosure have not had issues with Netflix or YouTube, it's the ones that developers have had to make that are shoddy, admittedly. Overall, I give this four stars. It has worked exactly as advertised, gave me exactly what I was looking for, and the flaws that admittedly come with the TV are what you would refer to as first world problems that are easily overcome, such as closing the app and reopening, or using a streaming device as opposed to the native apps. Best used with a sound bar or home theater system, but for the price and the convenience of ordering online through best buy, all I had to do was my research, go look at the TVs at electronics stores and YouTube knowing which models I was interested in and comparing, it was fairly easy to come to a decision, and I'm happy with the purchase.

    FABULOUS TV

I bought this TV in November 2017 but only opened the box and set it up January 2, 2018. I LOVE this thing! The picture quality right out of the box is STELLAR. At first I worried that the sound seemed a little muffled-but then I found OPTIMIZED sound and it's PERFECT! It is so easy to use! I can even search the Internet. The manual says it's for a PC but I have a MAC and it works great!!!! Every day I find something new. The remote buttons are so useful. Only thing I don't like about them is they are tiny. I have a Roku streaming player (I do not subscribe to cable TV) and find it easier to just use that then trying to input functions with the tiny buttons. But this TV is in my bedroom so it's dark which accounts for some of that problem. Luckily, I read reviews about the Eco Sensor this TV has. It adjusts the brightness automatically but you can turn it off, which I did. When the light was off, it made the TV screen too dark and I already have problems seeing in the dark. I need light! So every day I learn some new thing about this TV and it just gets better and better. Can't believe my luck finding it! EXTREMELY HAPPY!!!

I researched tv’s for a month or so and finally decided on this one. And I am so glad I did. The picture quality is amazing on it. No it’s not an oled quality tv but it’s not in that price point either. And it’s a true smart tv bit some Roku “smart tv” go ahead and pull the trigger and get you one. I was I impressed with this tv I went out and got the 58 inch version as well.

Bought this TV right before black Friday on the Best Buy Presale. Needed a smart TV for upstairs and this was a good price and had all the things I wanted in a smart tv. For the price, it was a good deal. Set up was easy. It's flaws...not many but there are some. if you have any other Samsung product like I do, the tv controller will control them as well. the volume on the tv remote will control the volume on my sound bar and tv at the same time, which I didn't like. so you will have to do some troubleshooting, but it's normal. otherwise, it's a great product.

Great deal when purchased as a Deal of the Day special. Picture is fine (I only view it from 12 or so feet away). The only annoying feature is that when I use the remote to fast forward, it will only do so in 15 second increments (it’s possible that that’s attributable to my streaming provider, thought). Easy to set up.

I bought this TV as a black Friday special, so it was a good price! The TV is very easy to set up and operate. I've been especially impressed with how easy it is to switch from a satellite source to a streaming program such as Netflix. The picture is also UHD quality, but you have to have UHD source to have the great picture - which is not dependent on the TV.

When I first hooked up my new Samsung, I looked up and saw a crystal clear picture, without adjustments. However, there is one big negative. The decent viewing angle is only about 90 degrees. This means that, if you are 5 feet from the screen and move 3 feet in either direction, you are looking at a washed out, distorted picture. My LR TV is a 7 year old plasma, which has about a 160 degree viewing angle. That means that you can see it clearly from almost anywhere. Since this TV is in our BR, directly in front of the bed, this will not be a major issue in my case. Be careful! Honestly though, for the price, it still was a good deal for me. The sound is adequate. The smart TV works fine. However, I bought a Samsung soundbar with a subwoofer for $140. It was a incredible upgrade. Highly recommended. So, for a bit over $600 I have a great tv that you have to look at almost straight on, and some really awesome sound. Not a bad deal!

Note: I cannot assess the 4k quality in full; I'm giving this 5 stars because I'm really happy with everything else, but I don't know if it's super amazing with a 4k player, at least not yet. We got this tv on the black friday special. It's a step up from our 32" Samsung that I'd bought back almost 10 years ago. That was an lcd 720. Which looks fine on a 32" and the Samsung quality has been excellent over the years. The 50" LED 4K is impressively crisp. There is a occasionally a little loss of pixel control on sports, because the motion is so fast. But ordinary TV looks almost strangely real. Occasionally, the picture is so fine that the programming actually looks more fake. That's the only complaint I'd have with the TV--it's such high fidelity that HD signal can suddenly look, well, artificial. It's strange to describe. However, the size of this TV is, I think, great. I wouldn't want anything larger, but it is nicer than the 32" was by far for movies and TV. The sound is also good for just the tv, and I like the level of control on the sound--very minute adjustments possible. The wireless setup is easy (I had problems only because I had issues with the cable itself at one point) and with high speed input, the quality of streaming is great. Easy to use, and very smart (the TV will switch on if you turn on a peripheral!) though the menus are a little weird and moving from service to service or back to cable or BluRay is sometimes annoying. The streaming 4k we have looks great, but I will say without a 4k player, I cannot comment on that quality decisively.

I managed to find this TV at only $400 which to me seemed like a steal. The picture is great and with it being a smart TV I don't have to make sure to get a 4k compatible streaming device to utilize the tv's 4k capability.

I used to be a Best buy associate in the Home Theater Department in my hometown of Brooklyn NY (Shoutout to 599) and I was more of a Sony guy, than Samsung. However, i love this TV! The pixel bursted on my Sony 4k after only 3 and a half years( thank God I opted for that 5 yr plan) and i got a full refund for the funds i spent on my Sony, which I used to purchase this affordable entry level 4k. My only gripe is that it has only 2 HDMI inputs, so it forces you to use an optical cable for your sound bar instead of the much better HDMI option, but with that being aside, i have it mounted on brick on a full motion rocketfish mount and LOVE the colors and the picture! If you're in the market for a TV and are getting a 1080 HD because you don't want to spend much, pay the few extra buck and get this cheaper entry level 4k! You will be glad you did!
