This Tv is perfect for our bedroom because it faces direct sunlight during the day. The 4k picture colors are rich, accurate and the blooming isnt that bad but there is some. Blacks are very inky and with some adjustment it can look similar to Oled. Of course I'll be the first to admit Oled has the market on the best picture but they haven't figured out how to make it brighter than 1100 nits consistently. Qled can rock 1800 to 2000 nits brightness no problem thou. I recommend this Tv for bright rooms in general or overall use for sure. (I am a samsung fan for the longest but will admit and concede to certain qualities that make other brands have an edge like Lg, Sony having Dolby vision etcs.. But I will not be a nearsighted fanboy like others....)

This samsung tv is one of the if not best tv i ever owned the color the brightness everything pops this is a very good tv for my Xbox series x i never seen a tv with so much color a good tv for gaming with hdmi 2.1 and vrr i got a good deal for the tv because it was open box but the one bad thing about this tv is how i got the screen the screen has alot streaks and residue also the tv has minimal dse and some small black dots but not bad i told geek squad about the screen they came and took a look at it they where able to remove most of residue and streaks but some marks still won't come off but the screen looks alot better now that's the reason i did not give this tv a perfect score but i bought a geek squad protection plan because of the condition of the tv being open box i recommend this tv even though how the screen was but it does not effect the tv picture quality and performance.

It *could* be an absolutely flawless TV, if there weren't dead pixels on each set that I've gotten. First one had a line of dead pixels in the center, replaced it for a second TV that was damaged by UPS during shipping, the current (third) TV I've received has a few dead pixels slightly off center but still very noticeable in bright/flat colored areas. I am using this TV as a PC monitor but having dead pixels is absolutely unacceptable especially considering the price. Once you've noticed a series of dead pixels, you can never un-see it, tarnishing the entire experience. Really wish Samsung had better quality control. The TV is phenomenal otherwise.

Worry about burn in from a 48" Oled, Get this 50" QN90A from samsung. Want the best picture quality then skip those crappy grainy dull lifeless matted computer monitor. I'm currently using this as my pc gaming/desktop monitor. Picture is crystal clear and smooth. Color pop like no tomorrow. The 50" have everything from full glass glossy panel with anti reflective filter, don't mistaken this for cheap matted coating normal monitor use, 4k 120hz, VRR, Hdmi 2.1, good viewing angle. Only thing I was worry about is the blooming and I can say the blooming with mini LED is basically gone. I had the previous 55" q90t and can't stand the blooming so I return it. I also have a 77" OLED as my main TV and I can say I would swap a 85" 90a for it. It's that good.

Owned this TV for over a year now and the color and view in general continue to impress. TV and couch are in an “L” configuration and several people have remarked how beautiful and 3D the TV picture looks from the 90 degree angle. I did a fair amount of research knowing most of our living room seating would NOT be straight on, and am extremely pleased with this TV. I tried with a so-so sound bar but sound quality is better without and on its own - perfectly acceptable for us.

I have been all over the place on TVs, from the LG CX, to Hisense U8G, to the Sony X90J, and currently still own a Sony X900H. I can’t get over the fear of burn in to hold only an oled. Games like Gran Turismo, Elite Dsngerous will have vibrant pets of the screen that stay relatively still for a long time and this TV will be primarily used for gaming. I just can’t think of spending $1250 knowing for sure the picture will degrade whether over time or a potential accidental of leaving the screen on. I use subtitles often and those were reported to eventually cause an issue. While I don’t know how long that might take I can’t handle that thought lingering every time I use a TV. Sony on the 900h we have I got stuck with because I was passed the return period after finding out they basically lied about the future implementation of 4k@120 and VRR is missing to this day. The x90j has resolved the 4k@120 issue but is held to a future promise of VRR. My issue with the Sony TVs while otherwise a great tv is small objects that are in a dark room for instance like a lit face in a dark room, loses the contrast of color on their face and you see a faded almost single skin tone and it’s noticeable especially in dark room viewing if a show or movie has a similar scene. While the X90j is a good improvement over the x900h Sony is asking for more money this year and they still have future promises tagged to the tv. The Hisense U8G has excellent picture quality at a bargain of a price. I really wanted to stick with the TV because the colors and contrast and brightness were all better than the Sony. It had some brightness in the corners depending on what section of backlight would turn on but it was good enough for $900. It smokes most TVs even more expensive in picture quality…UNTIL you find out audio is broken in apps unless you cast to the TV, ghosting occurs when plugging a 60hz game into a 120hz port, the motion handling is not terrific, and essentially to have a normal working TV like almost other brands you need an Apple TV, Roku, Firestick, or console to handle the Apps and if you use Bluetooth speakers or headphones to connect to those. Almost everything but the picture quality of the TV is terrible and it’s incredibly disappointing because watching 4k content the TV look gorgeous. They are promising to fix the ghosting issue but agin like Sony it’s another risk. So that brought me back to the QN90 (twice now). It’s not a perfect TV but it does have the latest tech, excellent processing, decent menu navigation and functionality, superb picture quality, and the best gaming motion handling in my opinion as you can turn on motion interpolation for games with next to 0 input lag, making every PS5 game look like it’s at 120hz. It works incredibly well. The problems with the QN90 are the following. It’s price is terrible and still not great but better, at $1299 for the 50”. It still should not be more expensive than oled in my opinion and if you’re rotating your games or don’t care about the burn in risk, the Lg CX 48” for $1250 is a no brainer. The other main issue for me is, the local dimming needs to be on “low” and contrast enhancer needs to be “off” for your most realistic picture. It decreases the contrast ratio of the screen a little bit (I wish review sites would measure the contrast of each dimming setting). This is the difference of the TV leaving the mini leds lit dimly across the screen verses turning them completely off. This allows things like dark color shirt detail or people with dark here to have the strands of their hair or parts of their shirts more visible than just dark to where it’s black and the detail is lost. It also prevents small lit objects in a dark scene from losing the contrast and detail in skin tones. I also raised the black level detail to 1 to enhance the detail further because in real life, you can still see the strands on a black shirt even in a dim room. Continued with local dimming, if you set it to Standard you will get more black crush due to the mini leds turning off, the skin tons of a small lit face in a dark room look off just like the Sony, and your games or content will dim the entire screen where you lose a noticeable amount of brightness, for instance if you walk behind a tree in a game into a shadow the entire screen will dim (as others have complained) and it is drastic to where to almost can’t see anymore then when you look around the brightness will jump back up. It’s very annoying and I wish Samsung would turn down this aggressive behavior in the standard mode. The only way to avoid this is to turn on the contrast enhancer which will in some areas crush blacks more however it does a better job keeping the brightness up across the mini leds to keep skin tons in a dark room closer to what you would expect… again at the cost of black detail. You can turn up the black level detail to help compensate however this starts to blow out colors on brighter scenes and make your skin tones shift to a lighter unnatural color. So with all that said you might wonder what’s the point, especially for $1300 on sale. The colors are fantastic, the game mode motion enhancement is stellar, I mean stellar. The smoothness with minimal artifacting is unparalleled to anything I’ve ever seen and it really makes your 60hz games feel like 120hz with next time no delay. The contrast lost in “low” local dimming is not particularly noticeable is real content. It also eliminates all of the issues in the other modes. I’ve seen some critical youtubers say this TV is trash because of how it handles dimming such as quantum. But again “low” local dimming changes the algorithm and keeps the screen dimly lit to keep a good contrast ration and not crush or make things like the start field look terrible. It really resolves a lot of issues. Which is why I wish Samsung would adjust the “standard” setting. Keep in mind TV manufacturers that employ local dimming typically have to choose the balance of lifted blacks (and keeping more of the screen lit) verses black crush caused by turning off more of the led backlights. Oled is the only way to not make this compromise. That puts this TV in a tough spot for how expensive it is. If you’re ok with not having your local dimming on standard or high to maintain the best detail in scenes and utilize the game features (keep in mind there is only one hdmi 2.1 port which may be a deal breaker if you need more than one 120hz input). This TV is worth it. I need to note I plug my ps5 into a standard port as next to no game can run at 120fps on the ps5. The 2.1 port will go to the series X. The motion enhancement is so good your ps5 will look amazing with it on at 60hz. This TV is also for you if you are ok with using the local dimming on standard or high, with the contrast enhancer on low at a minimum. This keeps skin tons and objects in dark areas looking decent but you do inevitably get some black crush. It doesn’t look bad at all but with it off you can see the detail you’re losing. Sitting further away makes this matter even less. Standard or High does offer the most dynamic experience and puts it close to “oled levels” of contrast. Gaming this opens the door to aggressive dimming on occasion but again, leaving the contrast enhancer on low helps. Another great use of this TV is in bright rooms. It offers excellent brightness and color saturation. If you’re not viewing the TV in the dark too often it is going to look even better (even with the dimming set to low). This TV is not for anyone looking to match oleds dark level detail. There are compromises that need to be made due to the inherent limitations of the technology. While this TV looks great on paper or on review sites, the drastic change in brightness sometimes is very distracting and they don’t seem to mention that. With the dimming on standard the star field test looks terrible and any similar scenes will also look terrible. Keep this in mind if you watch dark shows and expect to leave the brightness on standard or higher. The TV is also too expensive when Samsung seems to act like it’s an equivalent to oled without burn in. It just is not. It’s the closest I’ve seen with compromises but it still is not. It will smoke oled for brighter scenes otherwise and be a good match or possibly better in daytime viewing, but not at night. I know I wrote a story but chances are if you’re considering this TV and price range, you’ve been researching and researching. The extra details are critical at this point when you’re spending over $1k. You will find youtubers on both sides of this TV and I still think they sometimes don’t realize they still miss some things whether they admit it or not. Ultimately I hope this helps with your purchase. I did a stupid arm kind of returns trying to find the right amount of feautures and quality to justify the price and the QN90 on sale is definitely a great choice if Oled doesn’t suite your situation.

Pros: I’ve owned quite a few Samsung tv’s . They have always been 8 or 9 series tv’s since they are the best screens that Samsung makes . But let me say . The picture quality on this TV is phenomenal ! The deepest blacks I have ever seen from a non-OLED tv by far . The best local dimming feature from an LED BACKLIT tv The color spectrum is great . High contrast super bright screen. You won’t be disappointed in this ultra HD 4K tv. 120hz gaming brings it to a whole other level of clarity and smoothness as well. CONS: only one that I can think of . Wish there was more than one HDMI 2.1 port. Especially if you have a PS5 and XBOX SERIES X . But having to switch the cables between both consoles for the 120hz experience is not a deal breaker

First very expensive TV so my review might not be very helpful to those with lots of technical knowledge with TVs. Used for nearly 2 months as a monitor for my PC for movies and gaming as of the time of writing this. Things I like: - Great colors and gets very bright - Never had I ever had a "WOW" moment until I played RDR2 and Forza Horizon 4 on this TV (with select picture settings) - Very responsive menu - "Pictures Clarity settings" for most videos and media content - Build quality (though it's a very heavy TV) - Attractive and simple design Things I don't like: - Only 1 HDMI 2.1 port.. All other ports are HDMI 2.0. Not great if you've got 2 or more devices that can take advantage of HDMI 2.1 (PS5, Series X, gaming PC, etc.) - Getting to TV settings takes more time than I'm used to (without a dedicated settings button on the remote) - TV remote is sometimes buggy - when this happens, no buttons but the power button would work so you have to hold the power button until it turns off and on the TV again to refresh it or something - might've been fixed in a firmware update but don't wanna connect to the internet to update in case of other new bugs. - Ads in menu when TV is connected to the internet. This seems to be the norm with smart TVs and it sucks. Since I use a PC to connect to the TV, I just don't connect the TV to the internet. - Having to manually change the refresh rate to 60Hz to use "Picture Clarity settings" for videos and movies - A tiny bit of edges are cut-off if not viewing straight on (I have my TV on a center console and if I stand up, the blue bars under app icons being used on my task bar on Windows are cut off). Things to note: - The 50" model has a more ordinary anti-glare effect whereas the 55" model has anti-glare coating that would dissipate light in a "rainbow" effect. I traded in the 55" for a 50" since I just wanted a smaller TV for my room and noticed this difference. I much prefer the anti-glare used on the 50" since the rainbowing effect on is extremely annoying. You should check it out on rtings.com to see the rainbowing effect - they rated it high but I think it does more damage than it does good. Though I essentially dropped down to a 50" within the same family without knowledge of the difference in anti-glare tech, the rainbowing effect is a deal breaker for me. I considered going to the Q80A because of this - ultimately didn't because I wanted the Neo QLED tech. - Local Dimming and Contrast Enhancer settings can make images more dynamic though it seems color accuracy takes a hit. Because of that, I have local dimming on "low" and turn Contrast Enhancer off.

Don't be discouraged from purchasing this because of no Dolby Vision, and not an OLED. I own a Vizio P series from 2020 with Dolby Vision and this TV. Basic HDR and HDR10+ look amazing on this TV. I don't care about Dolby Vision the TV gets super bright to make the colors pop. This TV is amazing with 120hz gaming using my Xbox Series X. It just works with no issue because it does not use Dolby Vision. It uses basic HDR so there is less issues. IMO Dolby Vision 120hz 4K gaming isn't ready yet. If you need a right TV this is one to get.

I'm using the TV as a monitor for my PC. The picture quality for games is awesome. Using HDMI 2.1, you get 120Hz, HDR, and VRR. I'm giving it 5 stars based on picture quality (which is what I wanted) but 3 stars for ease of use. The menu's and game mode needing to be on for VRR is bass ackward. When in game mode a lot of the picture settings are greyed out and cannot be touched. Also ambient mode is insanely stupid. Don't get me started. Even after all that, the picture quality is worth it.

Probably one of the best non-OLED tv's you can get. Assume similar or better specs in teh 2022+ models. I got the 50" to use as a monitor rather than a 48" oled (I have a bright room, and frankly, burn in worries me after my E7P's red subpixels are shot).
