Thank you for choosing Samsung's QN90A Neo QLED 4K TV and for sharing your feedback on image and sound quality. If the picture you are seeing out-of-the-box are not to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
You can select the Picture Mode that provides the best viewing experience. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
In addition to the several picture modes on your TV, you may also want to try adjusting various expert picture settings.
You can go to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings and configure the TV settings to your taste with functions such as Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness, Color, Tint (G/R), Picture Clarity Settings, Local Dimming, Contrast Enhancer, and many more.
To provide you with the best image quality, your new TV also features Expert Calibration when the Picture Mode is set to Movie (Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Movie). This will provide you with an accurate picture with professional-grade picture calibration that delivers true color.
To ensure that your TV’s picture is optimized, always be sure that you are always running the latest firmware update. You can check this by going to Settings > Support > Software Update or you can enable Auto Update for convenience.
The QN90A features SpaceFit Sound to optimize sound tailored to your environment and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) which further detects disturbances and enhances the on-screen voices for clear dialogue.
Go to Home > Settings > General > Intelligent Mode Settings. Turn the options on or off to meet your needs:
- Active Voice Amplifier is available only when the sound sensor of the TV is active and the sound output is set to TV Speaker, or a Samsung Soundbar interlinked with Adaptive Picture is connected.
- Adaptive Sound+ provides optimized sound quality by analyzing the viewing space and the acoustic components of the content
- Adaptive Volume Automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while you are watching TV.
Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode
You can also customize sound with Expert Settings.
Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings
Another feature of your TV is OTS (Object Tracking Sound) which means that there are strategically placed dynamic speakers that track the action and move the sound around you. If you have, or plan on adding a Samsung Q-Series Soundbar, please take advantage of Q-Symphony which synchronizes both your TV speakers and soundbar to give you an excellent surround experience.

Poor Marks for the Samsung QLED

Flesh tones were hot pink or bright highlights washed out to hot white screen. Loved the stand, fast response, daytime viewing bright screen was great, but color reproduction at any time of the day was over the top, too exagerated, not realistic. We returned the TV for a Sony Bravia A9S 48 inch and it is awesome. We were using a Sony Bravia LCD from 2010, which was still terrific, but the new OLED Sony is totally realistic and easy to watch.

Please know you can find your TV's User Manual, e-Manual, Remote Control Leaflet, and Quick Setup Guide on Samsung's website by clicking "Support" > "Manuals & Software" > "TVs & Home Theater" > "TVs". From there, you can select the QN90A TV under "Samsung Neo QLED 4K” > “A Model Lineup" and download the guides you would like. The e-Manual is also embedded into the TV itself under Settings > Support > Open e-Manual.

Poor sound

This is very frustrating as I love the picture but cannot stand the disconnect for the sound. Any advice before I return this and exchange it for a Sony?

Please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1560.5 (released 7/1/21) which includes updates to address lip sync or audio delays that you are experiencing. Thank you for choosing the Samsung QN90A TV and for sharing your feedback regarding your picture's clarity. For optimal motion image performance, you may want to adjust the picture clarity setting by going to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity Settings
- Off: Picture Clarity Settings will always be off
- Auto: Picture Clarity Settings will automatically activate and deactivate based on the type of program being watched
- Custom: Allows custom adjustments and settings to be used. By selecting the Custom option, you can access these advanced settings for Judder Reduction, LED Clear Motion, and Noise Reduction.
Additionally, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
