Customers consistently note the excellent picture quality and sleek design of the 50" Class The Frame QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV (2022). Many appreciate the ease of use and the flat wall mount, which contributes to its aesthetic appeal. However, some users mention challenges with the remote control's functionality and the TV's software. A few customers also find the price point to be relatively high.

I should have taken this TV back but it’s already mounted. It looks good on the wall, super thin, have gotten compliments on how it looks. That’s the only nice thing I can say. The menus are ridiculously slow, even after trying to update the software. Imagine an old laptop trying to run Windows 10 slow. It’s like they went super cheap with the memory, CPU, etc. Every time it opens it tries to play Samsung TV+ which you literally couldn’t pay me to watch it’s so bad. No way to stop it. I honestly thought about returning to Best Buy after two weeks but it took me several hours to mount with these absurdly separate wide mounts, watch YT and you can find help if you DIY. The Art mode does not work AT ALL, causes the TV to crash and reset. Honestly not why I bought the TV but it just frankly does not work. When it gets into an app it seems to work fine but even then sometimes the audio gets out of sync. Could be the app or the TV. I love my 65” Q80 in my living room, but there is no way I could recommend this TV. For $1200 I thought I was getting a premium TV, but this will likely be the last Samsung I buy. Purchase at your own risk of getting a lemon like mine.

Jarrod,
We appreciate you sharing your experience with The Frame TV. I see that you've already tried to update your TV's firmware, but I do recommend double checking for any available updates. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an update available by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now.
If you're still experiencing OS issues, please try resetting your TV's Smart Hub, as this may help resolve both OS lag and Art Mode functionality. Go to: Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub.
While your TV may currently default to Samsung’s TV Plus app, please know you can choose what your TV does when you turn it on by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Start Screen Option > Autorun Smart Hub 1) Enabling Autorun Smart Hub automatically launches the Smart Hub when the TV is turned on. Navigate to this option to enable or disable the feature. 2) If Autorun Last App is set to on, the last used app is automatically run when you turn on the TV. You can turn this function on or off by pressing the Select button in the current menu.
If you’re hearing an audio delay across all sources/channels and you have a receiver, soundbar, or other speakers connected to your TV, you can access the Audio Delay settings to increase the audio delay. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay
If you’ve tried these steps and your issues persist, please contact us for troubleshooting and a Support agent will gladly assist. Call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. I bought this before reading reviews and that’s a good lesson for me. Tv is very sensitive- screen turns to a house blowing up, shuts down. I’m glad a purchased $350 ‘fix it’ plan-hopefully it will help repair 3 week old tv.

This is a great TV. Easy to set up, great picture. Looks like a painting in picture mode. Plenty of free pictures to choose from. Other paintings can be purchased individually or viewed with a subscription.
The frame in my photo is purchased separately and aftermarket.
There is a box similar in size to a cable box that you need to find a place for, but it’s to be expected. A mount comes with the TV and I recommend sticking with it because it’s very thin and keeps up the illusion of a picture. Other mounts can be very bulky.

The display when off is beautiful and the picture when the TV is on is beyond what I expected. I would recommend to anyone interested or hesitant on the Samsung the Frame products!
The only downfall was that the remote stopped working after a year and didn’t charge. I had to call a number to make a special request on the replacement for the remote.

Awesome tv - super crisp and as an amateayr art lover, I love the artwork that it can display. This was the first tv I've wall mounted myself and it was straightforward. Make sure to have a stud finder ready. I was also impressed by the super thin, single cable for power and data. Only thing I didnt love is the remote, which has very few buttons (does have Netflix shortcut and voice assistant though). Overall, i love the tv and am glad to have bought it.

We replaced our very old ~ 32 inch TV with a 50 inch The Frame. We don’t watch a lot of TV, and we picked The Frame because of how it looks when it is off, not how it looks when it is on.
It’s been a month or so, and The Frame looks great when it is off, and a lot better than our old set when it is on. That’s why I gave four stars. The software that controls the TV is horrible though. That’s why I didn’t give five stars.
It’s hard to upload your own images for art — it’s always the last option after a bunch of Samsung subscriptions. It’s not intuitive to organize your images. Nothing is intuitive. The default TV settings give movies the “soap opera effect.” The defaults seem to have to be overridden individually for every source, that is, you have to go through the same steps over and over for Netflix, Disney, etc. Maybe there are better ways I don’t know. The point is, the interface is clunky and unnatural. There are active user communities (like subreddit r/TheFrame). These are great places to lurk or post questions.
Overall we are happy with The Frame. It’s not perfect, but it suits us.

Mount close to your wall just like a picture frame. Only one little inconspicuous cable connect to TV to the One Connect box. Excellent picture quality. Mediocre sound. Wall mount fairly easy. I was able to do it without the template or instructions. Smart things app requires too many taps. Needs to be simplify. Give us the option to turn Samsung TV off.
Motion sensor will not work unless slide show duration is equal to or longer than sleep after timer. For example, if you set the sleep after timer to shut off at 5 mins. then your slide show duration also have to be at 5 mins or more. It cannot be at 3 mins. Apparently, when the slide show photo changes before the auto shut off time, it resets the auto shut off and the TV will not shut off. How hard is it for Samsung to fix this?

I would give this 4.75 stars if I could.
This is great for someone looking for more of a piece of art rather than the best visual TV. The frame is going to cost extra so this is a serious investment.
Picture quality for side lit LED TV is very good but it is not better than mini LED or OLED. Most folks wouldn't know the difference.
Sound is way better than I expected from a TV.
This comes with a mount, so hanging is a breeze for amateur handymen(women or other).
Be sure to understand that it comes with a separate 1 connect box for connecting your other devices along with a thin cable that is NOT made to go into the wall. This is a miss on Samsung part in my opinion.
Only downfall is software related.
Software for a TV at this price should be smooth. It's fine but would not expect occasional lag.
There should be a "frame" button for the artwork mode on the remote instead of using the power button. Also, there should be more options of when to turn on or off the frame. The motion and light detection doesn't always work well.

If You Don't Want Your TV To Look Like A TV - Look

Does everything that I wanted it to do. Looks like beautiful artwork when not in TV mode. None glare screen looks great, you can see the brush strokes on the canvas. The optional - and a bit pricey (but worth it) frame really makes it.

Amazingly slim configuration that does an amazing job of mimicking art when in the correct mode. A little glitchy trying to figure out the auto shut off function, but extremely happy with this purchase.
Would not recommend if you plan to use this primarily as a TV as you can get better picture/brightness/etc. with other models. If multipurpose is the goal, though, another TV cannot come close to the slim design or matte picture function.
