I had always felt that 4k TV was not much better than 1080p. Boy was I wrong. The detail with 4k HDR is breath taking. This TV is one of the best. I especially like the smart hub for connecting sources to the TV. Since mine is wall mounted with in wall wiring, the hub is on the floor instead of ont he back of the TV. I have FIOS 75mbs internet and am able to stream wireless 4K video studder free. Coupled it with a 5 series sound bar for very compact home theater system.

A $1059.99 TV should last longer than 23 months. I did purchase the $137.79 2 year Best Buy warranty. I guess I should feel a little lucky that the TV’s display failed and was not repairable just 3 weeks before the warranty would have expired. Best Buy’s Geek Squad customer service (Julio) was very good. Geek Squad Jack came to the house and examined the tv and ordered parts. Geek Squad Tony came out and installed them only to realize the TCON board failed and its not repairable. Geek Squad sent out a replacement tv (valued at $799.99 was $1199.99) from a different brand (LG) because the old Samsung with those specs. was not made anymore. With the new tv from a different brand I purchased the $199.99 5 year warranty out of fear because Best Buy considers the $137.79 warranty money used and doesn’t credit it towards your replacement tv for another 2 years? Thinking ahead what if the replacement tv fails in 2 years I will then have to purchase another $199.99 5 year warranty? Just think in 4 years I may have to spend $537.77 on warranties for a $1059.99 tv??? This system is vicious!
Samsung should give a 5 year warranty on all TVs if they want customers to be loyal to their brand. Samsung you make a nice TV and charge a premium but if it only lasts 23 months then you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Samsung I don't need your sympathies but if you want to make it right then send me a new TV and if it lasts at least 5 years then I'll edit this review.

Purchased the KS8000 after reading glowing reviews of it. Due to issues out of my control we couldn't install it right after purchasing it and had to wait 3 weeks later for our entertainment center to be fixed. We plugged it in...and have a One Connect error message that states "Check that the One Connect is connected to the TV" as soon as you turn on the TV. I spoke with a rep from Samsung (India) and they said I hopefully have a defective One Connect box and they will send out a replacement in 10 days. So after all of the hype and bragging about how amazing this TV is - I'm far from impressed.

Looked great, and after about 20 months the panel is dead. Called Samsung and they basically said "yeah no that's gonna hafta go to a shop, here's the location of a certified shop... good luck!"
I have an LG and Emerson that have lasted over 9 and 7 years respectively with zero problem. I will not be purchasing Samsung TV's ever again.

I researched this tv for quite awhile before deciding to purchase it. I'm glad I waited tho as I got it at an excellent price. I've never made a big purchase like this through Best Buys website, but it couldn't have been easier.
The tv has an incredible picture, especially with 4K content. I Borrowed a friends 4K Blu-ray player and was blown away. My Xbox One S works perfectly with it as well. DirecTV looks great on it as well. Standard definition included. I'm a big sports fan, and I have not had any issues with motion blur or judder at all. The speakers are decent as well, but like pretty much all very thin sets, its not going to blow you away or anything.
Setup was a breeze and I had no issues there. There are a lot of options for the picture and such, so it might take a bit to get it just the way you want, but its basically a painless process, especially if you are used to Samsung TV's. Each of the 4 hdmi inputs can be set differently from one another as well which is nice. The remote looks like its bare bones, but it grew on me pretty quickly. It can control multiple things, which could possibly make the learning curve for it higher, but I find it to be pretty easy to use in my setup.
If I had to say something negative about it, I guess it would be the lack of a comprehensive owners manual. You can access one through the television itself, but it would be nice to have an actual one to hold in your hands. The one in the box doesn't go into much detail.
I should add that the tv itself is very thin, and quite nice looking. Also, if you plan to wall mount it, you'll need m8X45mm to 50mm bolts for it. My stand allows for a tv to be hung from it, and that's what I had to use. The bolts from my other Samsung that this tv replaced were way to short. The holes at the top of the tv for these are also much shallower than the ones on the bottom, so spacers will be need.
All in all, I think this tv is awesome, and I highly recommend it.

I bought this TV four years ago. It was in the guest bedroom. Hardly ever used. Not even 800 hours of use . Well 11/5/2020 turned it on to watch tv less than an hour The screen is gone replaced by colored vertical lines. At the time I paid about $1600.00
Bad investment.

This is the 2nd television I have purchased within the last 2 years and I am amazed at the strides the “smartTV” feature has made. All of the apps are ready to use as soon I press power. I have another Samsung TV from 2014 which takes about 3 or 4 minutes for “preparing the TV.” I also thought the 2014 TV had great image quality, but it pales in comparison to this.
Remote
The remote has improved as well. Instead of an overwhelming set of buttons, the current remote only has: power, microphone (for voice commands), 123 (for channels), extras, return, home, and pause/play. In the middle there is an easy-to-navigate directional pad with a select button in the center. It also has rocker controls for both the volume and channel.
Screen
Other TVs I considered this time around were the KS8 series by Samsung (both flat and curved), KS9 series by Samsung, and the OLED TV by LG. I ruled out the curved TVs because I noticed that any glare on the TV was stretched due to the curvature, and I decided the curve was only a gimmick. I ruled out the KS9 series because there were such minor differences between the KS9 and the KS8 series that the $500 price difference was not justified. I was tempted to buy an OLED TV, but noticed a slightly more intense glare than the KS8 series, and the picture quality did not warrant the extra $500 either. I do admit, however, that the OLED TV had the deepest blacks I have seen on a flat panel TV.
Pros
Easy-to-use remote
Great picture (though not quite as good as OLED)
Similar features to KS9 series, but without the price
Con
No 3D feature
Some may not like the chrome legs/border in the design
After taking into consideration the price, performance, picture quality, and features, I feel that the KS8000 has the best bang for the buck.

8000 model is quite an improvement in picture quality and smart features.
Sound is much improved. Night mode even keeps annoying music levels below the voice levels. Setup could not be simpler. I've had one issue with Amazon seizing up requiring me to delete the app, de-power, then reloading app. Vudu app went down a few days then became functioning after a subsequent automatic update. Currently, for YouTube I have to sign in every time I open the app. With previous Samsungs, I've had Amazon completely stop working, so I expect some minor issues. The remote has never been simpler because menu driven selections on screen. I can browse my Comcast feed with this remote...only one remote needed. Yahoo. Stadium sound setting separates vocals from band and crowd noise...makes football games even more realistic. My last 55" Samsung UHD, I tipped over by accident. This one is even thinner and has less stable legs. I have it strapped to my cabinet but it would be safest on the wall. This set is very difficult to safely remove from it's box and set up because your hands can squeeze it too tightly. It's a two man job to be safe.

I spent a lot of time researching this display and comparing it to other models in the same price range. You never want to spend 1k+ on something without putting your detective hat on. That being said, with the overall high reviews of the KS8000 series, my first impressions are the same! It's a beautiful set, I love the sleek silver and chrome look of the feet and outlined borders. The set-up is extremely easy, and the remote is super smart and works with my roku or my PS4!! Calibrating it is all based on user input so it's fun to poke around and optimizing my experience. I'm glad I bought this TV and finally moved into the realm of Ultra HD!!

I owned the TV for a week and did not know you can speak to it.
"turn on Netflix" "I want to watch the Simpsons" "channel 7" ect.
it understands and responds quick.
The other nice feature is I can turn on my PS4 and Xbox one S from it and fully control the Xbox with the smart remote omg so convenient.
The apps run smooth and fast I can switch from netflix to pandora in less then 3 seconds. Apps stay running in background.
Overall I'm super happy this TV picture quality just wow me I'm coming from the Samsung un50j6200 which is really laggy for smart features which I totally stopped using and started using the PS4 instead for apps. I was going to get the UHD one on sale for $599 and Im so glad I didn't.
The Tv is really thin looks and looks amazing, but you should know its really heavy. I recommend you don't install alone.

I purchased this recently from Best Buy as an upgrade to a older Samsung LCD. The picture quality is amazing! The detail that is picked up in 4K is just stunning. If you use the built-in Samsung apps for services like Netflix and you upgrade your Netflix account, you can stream various movies and television shows in 4K, and it is worth it. Streaming 4K from YouTube is also quite nice. I would advise that you look online about changing some of the Eco settings on the TV so the brightness doesn't constantly adjust (it can be distracting.) The speakers are good for a TV this size, for watching movies though I would recommend purchasing a sound bar at least.
Some Tech Notes: For HDR 4K signal, you have to enable UHD on each HDMI port. Consult the help or user manual on how to do this.
The remote is pretty basic, but I like using the speech detection to switch between inputs rather than fumbling through the menu. Just hold the MIC button and say "HDMI1"
This TV has a dongle box for connecting all your devices, and it only supports Coax and HDMI. The cable is a good length, and while I was put off by it at first, I rather like the idea that I only have two cables to hide going to my television. Just make sure those connections are secure!

THIS TV EXCEEDED ALL MY EXPECTATIONS. I ONLY REGRET THAT I DID NOT BUY THIS TV SOONER. WOW! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. I HAVE NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS TV. THE PICTURE IS SO CLEAR. THIS TV HAS THE DEEPEST BLACK I'VE EVER SEEN AND THE WHITES ARE SUPER BRIGHT. THE 240 REFRESH RATE IS AMAZING. I GET NO MOTION BLUR WHATSOEVER. THE HDR WORKS PERFECTLY. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM ANY OTHER MODEL. I WOULD BUY THIS TV OVER ANY OTHER ON THE MARKET OVER AND OVER AGAIN, IT'S THAT GOOD.

Our 3rd Samsung LED tv and couldn't be happier. Picture quality is great and the smart features are easy to use. Side angle viewing is average would be the only negative and even at that it's still decent. Nice improvement over last years model. Very thin and easy to put on wall.

This TV is amazing, the 4k HDR makes movies and games look so stunning. I would recommend getting this class of Samsung TV. Thin, light weight and love the new controller design.
The Smart features are fast , it remembers what you watch did last i.e. netflix or xbox so as soon as the TV is turned on it pops right up. Will even let you control yourXbox device with the TV remote if you are browsing HBO GO or other apps from your Xbox.
Strongly Recommended.

I got this 4K TV on Black Friday this year. Its my 1st 4K TV and have been happy w/ my purchase so far. I really like the Smart TV feature because I used to have to watch Netflix through my PS3, but now the simple ease of accessing the neatly designed Samsung menu allows me to check out Netflix as well as so many other Smart TV programs. Really nice for sure! As soon as I tried the Smart TV functions I realized I had no audio coming through my stereo system so I did have to purchase a 8' Digital Optical Audio Cable and connect it to the Samsung Smart HUB and my stereo to be able to hear the audio so just a heads up. I really like the design Samsung uses for hooking other devices into their TV! The Smart HUB plugs in the back of the TV and w/ about a 6' cable you then place the small and discrete box on the entertainment center or wherever and plug your PS3, Directv and other devices into that rather than the back of the TV. My TV is wall mounted and with my last HDTV I had cables poking out the side of my TV and it didn't look nice. I've been really happy w/ this TV and haven't even really gotten a chance to see true 4K picture yet because I don't have a Directv 4K reciever and haven't subscribed to Netflix 4K service yet, but when I finally get 4K picture I'm sure I'll be blown away as I was when I first saw 4K picture on this TV at Best Buy before I bought it! It does have a great sharp picture already and my Directv signal is being boosted from 1080p to a 1986p resolution so that double in pixels gives a really sharp picture. I have no complaints w/ this SUHD TV and would definitely recommend it!

I have owned the tv for about six weeks. The tv was very easy to set up and was operational in about 20 minutes. It easily connected to my other video devices. The only setup issue was the fact that the smart capability was not able to work with the DISH receiver. I have the VIP 722 dvr and that model does not integrate with the smart remote. The picture is clear and sharp and improves the picture from all devices. The 4K up scaling enhances all channels to include the SD channels. Blue ray disks are incredible. The sound from the tv is lacking g but I paired the tv with Samsung K650 sound bar and the sound is good. My son truly enjoys the smart remote and was able to instantly control the apps and the tv with his voice. At 13 he finds this feature extraordinary. The only draw back is the design of the legs. I have placed this on a pedestal and the legs were too wide. Hanging on a wall would have been fine. I ordered a TV Stand and mounted ot to the tv and it works great. Overall another great TV from Samsung for tv sports movies and all entertainment needs.

This TV is crisp and clear right out of the box. I did not have to change a thing with the color. The setup was easy. Not sure about the auto dimming. My room has lots of light from my Bay Window, so it is not a problem. If it were in a room without a lot of light you may have to turn on a light to brighten the picture. I find the speakers to be adequate. I only use it for cable TV so I can't comment on anything else. Overall, I love this TV! It is a bit pricey though.
