TV failed two years after purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Please, save yourself a major disappointment: don't buy a Samsung TV from Best Buy is you're looking for more than a year or so of service. Our 55" curved screen TV developed a horrible gray stripe that extended from the top to the bottom of the screen after only two years of service. Our viewing habits are lighter than most -- news in the morning, diversion/relaxation program in the evening. TV's failure on that basis was ridiculous. Even worse was experience with tech support from Samsung and Best Buy. Warranty protection lasts only one year. After that, it's a minimum spend of $250+ to have a technician look at the TV. There's an endless skein on postings on the Web about banding problems with Samsung's LED TVs. I wish I had seen them before we bought what turned out to be a piece of junk. Do you yourself a favor: avoid this brand.

Good for Movies, Bad for Games

Movies can be vibrant and very pleasant to look at, but, when using the game mode, colors are dull and lifeless. Also, a bit of an inconvenience, but the TV automatically has this motion blur setting applied which makes it very hard to watch anything, in my opinion. This setting can be turned off in the menu.
