This TV is barely over a year old, and the smart TV interface is already failing. The "smart TV" platform on Samsung TVs has always been a bit clunky, but now life with this TV is a series of reboots in order to get it to work properly.

      Nathanrulesyou:

Thank you for purchasing the TU8000 TV and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness levels of your picture. If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright you can try Dynamic Picture Mode, or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking.

Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic

Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Go to: Settings> Picture> Expert Settings

You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness.
Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection

Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings>Support>Software Update. (1460.9 released on 12/7/20)

You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

I hope this helps to improve your picture. Should you need further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support.

    Motion Sickness Sufferers Be Aware!

Purchased this tv because of the quality of picture and brand loyalty. Wrong! I get motion sickness and this tv made me ill trying to watch it. I researched YouTube videos about how to adjust the settings and even with turning the Action and Motion smoothing off it was horrible. The picture isn’t what it should be without those filters on. For example, tried watching the Office on this thing and I had to close my eyes. I returned and purchased a TCL 6 series 4K and I have no regrets! I also had to adjust settings for that tv also but the picture quality was not compromised like Samsung.

Easy setup, I got this model in particular since it ha Alexa built in, but not sure why, the turning on TV feature doesn’t work. This TV also doesn’t work that well with Sling for some reason, which is pretty disappointing. My TCL TV worked better with Sling

      AZzz,

I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with Alexa function of your TU8000 TV.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
      1) If you are using the built-in Alexa
Interaction with built-in Alexa requires using the Voice button on the remote for TV control. When TV is powered off, there is no way to use built-in Alexa to power the TV back on. Therefore, only TV power off function works with built-in Alexa.

      2) If you use Alexa via external Amazon Echo speaker
Please make sure your TV is added to the SmartThings App and the Alexa App, along with your Echo speaker, and then try again.

You can try cold booting your TV, updating your TV's software, deleting, and downloading the Sling app again, and a completing full reset of Smart Hub to correct the issue with the app

Here is a link to a step-by-step trouble shooting guide to get you started:
