It has all the features I wanted for a “bonus room” TV- a number of ports, and a great picture. The Samsung SmartThings app, however, I do not like. I have not been able to get it to work on my iPhone Xr (installed, deleted, reinstalled, got it to run-kinda, but then it locks up over and over, etc). It does, however, work on my daughter’s iPhone X—until it doesn’t. Even on her phone it frequently just stops working. Maybe It is an iPhone thing. Thankfully, it came with a remote, so I don’t have to use the app.

I compared this tv to LG , Toshiba and Vizio- based on quality, life span and ratings on consumer reports for weeks. What I found myself was that Samsung stays ahead and has a technological advantage over others based on innovation and not worried about competing. In other words, they design and make what you are looking for in the next step towards your new TV.

System will disconnect from internet and needs a hard reset to reconnect. You will lose where you are at. Samsung went into TV remotely and did not fix the problem. I will give them one more try then it goes back and I will miss the great picture and will not miss the smart remote which should go back to high school.

I am sorry that you are experiencing internet connection issue and find the remote hard to use.

For the connection issue, you may want to go through these steps:
1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m).
2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (WiFi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)
3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem.
Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings >Support> Device Care> Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

The tv is very good. Only regret is I really don’t know how to quickly and easily get to the main menu for Apple TV. It’s hit or miss on how to get past hype Samsung tv main menu. So my advice is to Make sure you really try to use it before the person leaves your house. I take responsibility for this and am not blaming Best Buy or the technician!
