    Nice TV

Its a very nice TV at the sales price. Maybe a bit overpriced at retail! I like the crisp sharp high contrast display, although as reviewers have said the local dimming does not seem to have a lot of effct. Reviewers also commented on the limited viewing angle but it was sufficient for me. The two legged base was too wide for my stand causing me trouble even though I used the inner mounting points - took a fiull 36" wide to hold this TV. I did like the slim style and the one- wire I/O box where all the HDMI and USB ports were located. THe manual was the briefest thing I ever saw. Not much technical info there if you want to figure how to hook up external audio or anything like that.

    Spontaneous TV Turn On

We bought this model in December 2017. Picture quality, functionality, etc has been great. Very pleased. Should be a 5 Star review, right? So why 2 stars? The TV spontaneously turns itself on, mostly in the middle of the night. This is not an issue for just this set, check out the CNET forums on this subject or google the issue. It is affecting other models as well, not just the 8000. Firmware is up to date. Connected to standard DirecTV box and Roku box, nothing fancy. Samsung sound bar and sub woofer. No solution on line from Samsung. Lots of on line speculation as to the issue so at this point I can’t recommend buying a Samsung.

    great TV, one connect sucks

bought this super bowl sunday after looking at a few other models at the local best buy. this is my first 4k TV so i was excited to hook up my stereo to it and enjoy the super bowl. WRONG!!!!! imagine my surprise when the TV would not see my DVR for my fiber TV. took me few minutes to figure out the receiver was not letting the signal through even though it is 4K rated. had to run tos link from the one connect box to the TV in on the receiver so i could at least get sound from my receiver. the picture on this is fantastic, it responds to all my devices and sets them real fast. just wish there would have been warning about not being able to use AV receiver with it

Everything was very easy to setup. I turned off the motion enhance to stop the soap opera effect and switched the picture mode to Movie. Those are the only changes to picture I made. Surprised the sound was so good on the TV. I mean it was quickly hooked to my stereo but for the while that I played with it it was not bad. The one connect box is also super helpful. Two cords out of the TV, one for power and one for the connect box. Means that changing anything and connecting you don't have to get to the back of the TV. Super clean if you plan to mount it like I did. Remote is very easy to pair as well. All and all very happy.

I splurged on a replacement TV with extras to simplify life without cable. I use a digital antenna and various streaming services instead. I had hoped that the Smart TV would make switching from broadcast to web based apps more seamless and then nullify the need for a separated Apple TV. However I find that more often than not the TV itself can’t connect to the WiFi although I can access the same content on my Apple TV. So I don’t think it’s my WiFi. The guide function worked at first and now displays “no info” for all networks, but I can see the current program info when I flip through the channels. While all that is frustrating the TV still looks great.

Bought the TV at Best Buy and had the Geek Squad install It The picture is great and the sound is good for the bedroom. The TV has lost its picture a few times. When I put the TV on the screen has no picture and says check power connection but the TV does in fact have power just no picture. The first time it happened I shut the TV and put it back on and it was fine. The second time it happened I unplugged the two power cords, waited a minute or two and replugged the cords. The TV rebooted and was fine. If it happens again I will call the Geek Squad to come and look at it. This is definitely not acceptable. This TV was I installed less than a month ago.

I have purchased many Samsung TV's over the years, Purchaed this tv for my father birthday he love's watching sports, Picture was great in store. Right out of the box there seemed to be a problem with the screen periodically going black then returning to picture. Samsung said it was a firmware issue or HDMI cable updated both still having the issue. I am still waiting on Samsung for a fix to the problem. People at Best Buy have been very helpful even offering an exchange, but with TV hung I was hoping not to remove and replace it. I would not recommend the Samsung MU 8000 series to anyone till Samsung fixes the issue.

The tv is ok, the back panel is better than the ks8000. But no quantum dots for a great picture like the ks. Rtings.com gave this tv a 7.8 i beleive and the ks 8.2. For its retail price of $1499.99 i think its too much when last years model the ks8000 its a better choice and its going alot cheaper since its last years model. I took this tv back and bought the ks8000 for $999.99. I'd still recommend it but if you can get the ks it would be a better purchase.

Seemed to be the best value in a 55" 4K with HDR and Energy Star. Networking and apps work great. Picture is amazing and so is the sound. Very thin TV and bezel. The screen does reflect a lot of ambient light. I feel a glossy screen might be better at rejecting light but this is a matte screen that seems to absorb it, not in a good way. The cables routing through the back of the leg is great, but they really should let you route it through either leg depending on where your outlet is. As it is, the cables can only route through the left side making the cables too short for where they need to go (for me) and required an extension cord, which sucks,

I’ve been wanting to upgrade from our 40” Samsung for a few years, and finally pulled the trigger on this 4K 8000 series. The trim, look and picture are outstanding. The smart connect is a nice feature, especially to only hide one cord. There are so few things to buy in-store these days, but the salesman was super helpful and I was really glad I went for the 8000 series- worth the extra money in the end I think! Just don’t get sold on a 4K HDMI cable- do a quick search online and there isn’t a difference in the cords from my research.

I owned a Samsung LCD before this purchase, which cost twice as much almost ten years ago. This sleek and sexy TV has the latest apps that enable things like looking at your photos from your phone to watching YouTube. It's a great upgrade and can hold my interest for many years I predict. One bad thing for the old school, it doesn't have much in the way of inputs except for a detached HDMI hub, and I lose the ability to use my collection of head phones since they don't have Bluetooth, the line in option hidden in the back panel doesn't seem to be working for me. Anyway, it's great catching up to this decade of Samsung.

The up-scaler is excellent. Picture quality and color consistency is outstanding. Notice judder in some content like Youtube and off air networks programs, but very few. The remote is a little complicated at first and works well once you learn how to use it. It controls all my connected components. The Connect One device makes it very easy to connect your components to a wall mounted TV. The only negative issue so far is I had to remove and restore Netflix and my Dish receiver due to loss of response, very soon after hooking up the TV.

I purchased this Smart 4K TV a few weeks ago. I got a great price match deal from Best Buy. The price match process was extremely easy and I ended up getting it $200 less than the Black Friday price. The picture, refresh rate, stream line thin appearance, cable management system, awesome remote (controls DIRECTV Satellite, Apple 4K TV, Blu ray and sound bar), and HDR features are outstanding for a TV under $1,000. The only issue I had was setting up the sound bar following Samsungs directions...once I just did it the way my other Home Theatre was set up, it worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend this TV!

I know I waited too long to buy a 4K TV, but wanted to wait until there was enough 4K material in the market to really enjoy the TV (before it became an outdated model). I think it is a good size TV, for a medium sized room. I enjoy very much the Apps included, watching 4K videos from YouTube, to stream video from other devices in the network, listening to my favorite shows with my Bluetooth earphones paired with the TV, and the external inputs box that helps keeping cables organized. Great Buy! I just don't like how some high speed videos will look a bit pixelated, I expected a better performance on this regard.

I bought it on black friday, Online with a good sales price. The main purpose of the TV is for watching movies and play on XBox One X. For a TV, gaming experience is good, I know for an excellent performance and no input lags, it is better to play in gaming smaller monitors, but this TV works pretty well. It has a Gaming mode that reduces the input lag and the refresh rate is 120hz. Picture quality on TV is awesome, even the free air channels looks pretty well, you will need to configure the picture quality to enable the HDR and more things, as per default it is not enabled. It was a pretty good choice for a TV.

So we bought this TV for 1200ish dollars on a whim. It looked great in store and the picture was amazing. We get it home, set it up, and the picture was just as great as it was at the store. Then... something made a quick motion on the screen and it was choppy.. We've adjusted settings and even tried it in auto motion hoping it would help. It didn't.. So the only way we can keep it from glitching during fast paced scenes is by having it in game mode. Which is OK, but you lose the clarity of picture. So that's all I've got.

Purchased this set a few weeks ago after reading reviews and opinions for a number of weeks. My initial intention was to purchase one of the lower end models, but found this on sale at my local BB. I am extremely pleased with the picture quality and performance of this set. In particular, I'm impressed with the near zero input lag while gaming on an Xbox One or PS4. Also wanted to note that I initially purchased this set on sale for $999 and within a week the price dropped, pre Super Bowl, to $899. It was very simple and hassle free to get the price adjustment from Best Buy. Love it!

    Sometimes Too Smart

For the money this has been a good TV. Sometimes though it can be too smart. After syncing with a Universal Remote the TV has a tough time understanding that the receiver has to come on in order to put the sound through the speakers. So we have to tell it to start with a movie and then switch over to the satellite or Cable. PITA but only takes another second or 2. Have not been able to tell the TV to turn on after all other systems despite best efforts with Logitech remote help. It senses part of the system is on and it wants to join in. Sort of like a new puppy in the house.

I purchased this Samsung 8000 series 4K TV with High Dynamic Range in the Summer for my Family Room and have been extremely satisfied with its sharpness, clarity, brightness, deep blacks, and super wide viewing range--everything I wanted. I compared it in the store at the time with a 7000 series and a 9000 series. It's far better than the 7000, but I couldn't see a difference to step up to a 9000. It's definitely a bargain to get the last-year's model. I have been sooo happy with it, that I have just purchased a 2nd identical unit for my Dad as a Christmas Gift to replace his old Vizio.

Bought the Samsung 8000 series about a month ago. Picture and sound are outstanding. Regular TV is better than my older Panasonic plasma. This excels with the blue ray DVDs - as good if not better than being in the theater. Amazon prime has some 4k programs - you can't believe your eyes. The folks at Best Buy were helpful - answered all my questions. I did not wall mount it - setup/installation was easy. There are no composite inputs I had to buy a composite converter to HDMI. Hard wired Ethernet for fast internet access. Very please so far.
