The quality is awesome and the smart hub for connecting hdmi devices is a great way to cut back on cables. The remote takes some getting used to since there are no channel buttons. I use a harmony 650 remote and it works fine.

I purchased this Smart 4K TV a few weeks ago. I got a great price match deal from Best Buy. The price match process was extremely easy and I ended up getting it $200 less than the Black Friday price.
The picture, refresh rate, stream line thin appearance, cable management system, awesome remote (controls DIRECTV Satellite, Apple 4K TV, Blu ray and sound bar), and HDR features are outstanding for a TV under $1,000.
The only issue I had was setting up the sound bar following Samsungs directions...once I just did it the way my other Home Theatre was set up, it worked like a charm. I would definitely recommend this TV!

After reading a lot of reviews I went to the store to see a TCL 55". Well it's not a bad TV for the price but not what I wanted. The salesman Showed me the Samsung 8000 Series and it looked great so I bought it home. But when I got it hooked up I adjusted for 3 days and never got the picture looking right. If your right in front Of it it's not to bad but every step left or right of center the picture gets worse. The pictures below are from one end of my couch centered on the TV and the other from the other end of the couch. I returned for Sony 900E and very happy.

I owned a Panasonic 55" 3D plasma TV for years - it was great, but was starting to show it's age and after it died I did a lot of research. I didn't want to spend $5000 on a TV, and though I know the LG OLED and Samsung QLED are much better pictures, just moving to 4K and HDR would be enough of a step up for me right now. After a lot of online research, I settled on Samsung and went to Best Buy with the intention to find last year's model KS8000, which is a lot of the same as this MU8000 and with a couple features the newer model doesn't do as well. It's also cheaper. However, Best Buy no longer offers the installation on older models, and the KS8000 is quickly going out of stock. I considered both the 65 and 55 inch models before settling on the 55 inch, since that's what we had before.
Best Buy ordering and delivery is simply the best! Sales associates know their stuff and the delivery guys have always been top-notch. The warranty is a great deal, but I did pass this time for better or worse. I paid an extra $15 so they would haul away my old bricked plasma, and it's SO worth it. The only negative about the delivery experience is they can't unbox the TV or even put it up on the stand for you unless you pay for the "installation". That's not as big of a deal as it was with my plasma (which they did unbox and pull out as part of installation because it was so heavy) since this TV is so light, but I'd recommend having two people to lift a 55" TV for stability sake.
Picture quality on the MU8000 is excellent. Vivid colors, deep blacks, no light bleed I can see, motion handling and up-scaling all looks great so far. The Samsung remote is really nice and the voice control addition works well. There aren't a lot of buttons - it's basically just like the Amazon FireTV voice remote. I have a Logitech Harmony so our primary remote is the Harmony remote, but I do like the simplicity of the Samsung remote. The toggle channel/volume buttons are a bit odd at first, but we don't really use them.
The MU8000 stand is nice looking, but feels a little cheap. I would opt for wall-mounting if you have the option. One thing I'm not quite sure on is the "One Connect Box" that I personally fins annoying. There are NO ports on the back of the TV. It looks really clean, but having all the inputs in an external box is definitely different. The cable management channel around the bottom edge and foot of the TV is really cool, but when you're running both the One Connect Box cable and the power cable it gets crowded. It also seems like Samsung gave up on the cool cable management design once they hit the stand and just said "whatever - if they get to this point we don't care". It looks a bit odd on my stand, but depending on what you put your TV on it's a lot cleaner. The nice thing about the One Connect Box is it places the inputs away from the back of the TV. I only run one HDMI to my TV from my receiver so my cords are minimal, but if you had multiple inputs I could see this being awesome, especially in a wall-mount situation as you'd only have 2-3 running from the back of the TV instead of 7. The Samsung Tizen OS smart TV software is pretty good - I haven't run in to issues with it, but I don't use it all the time. If I was running cable directly into the TV and not through my stereo receiver, I think the voice control for the cable channels and the smart TV software would be much nicer than my Comcast/Xfinity box (I don't have the X1).
The MU8000 dims/brightens itself depending on the light in the room. It hasn't bothered me too much and I may disable it at some point, but it's worth noting. There are times the TV looks a bit too dark for the light in the room but it's never been unclear. This may only be a "movie mode" setting. There is some glare on the set, but no where near as bad as a plasma TV. The viewing angle is decent, maybe a little better than my Panasonic plasma. I expected better viewing angles from a TV this expensive and 8 years newer. From what I have read, the HDR on the MU8000 is not the best you can get and you'd be better off with last year's KS8000 or the Sony 900E series if HDR is important to you. You do have to turn it on in the MU8000 settings for the input you want.
Overall, this TV is a nice package for the price. It seems to promise a bit more than it actually has, which is disappointing from Samsung, but if you're not going to nitpick over the 500 nits reality vs the 1000 nits promise on the package for the HDR, you will be happy with your purchase. If you want to stay in this price range and care about the best specs for your money, I would recommend trying to find the KS8000 series somewhere or going with the Sony 900E series.

I bought it on black friday, Online with a good sales price. The main purpose of the TV is for watching movies and play on XBox One X.
For a TV, gaming experience is good, I know for an excellent performance and no input lags, it is better to play in gaming smaller monitors, but this TV works pretty well. It has a Gaming mode that reduces the input lag and the refresh rate is 120hz.
Picture quality on TV is awesome, even the free air channels looks pretty well, you will need to configure the picture quality to enable the HDR and more things, as per default it is not enabled.
It was a pretty good choice for a TV.

I upgraded this tv from a 1080p LED and I love it. The picture is great, however it is a necessity to mess with the factory settings as the presets are awful. Don't be discouraged if upon setting it up you're not "wowed" by watching regular 1080p content. Ive found until you get the settings right, some content may even look worse than your previous tv. Content is limited in the HDR market, but I was absolutely blown away by the color and clarity when I was able to stream some HDR content through Netflix.
The design is sleek and stylish. I love the external box that you plug all your inputs in to, giving it a minimalist style. Set up is extremely easy, stands pop right in to the tv, although I'm not a huge fan of the stand design... as you will need a stand almost as large as the length of the tv to test it on. Also love that there is a very, very thin border around the tv box itself.
The remote is voice activated along with some minimal buttons. It does take some getting used to, but its easy once you get the hang of it. Only complaint, and this one is frustrating IMO... But there is no "settings" button on remote.
Tv has a lot of nice features in the Smart tv software. Little things I appreciated like self detection on inputs. You can also control many settings with your voice which is nice when trying to find the perfect picture. Like, "change to standard picture" or "turn brightness up" etc.
Bottom line, highly recommend. However idk if I can justify it's current price as I got it on sale. YOU WILL HAVE TO TWEAK THE SETTINGS A LOT TO PERFECT IT... Take of "auto-motion" settings etc. But that is understandable for a tv this high end, as there are a lot of feautures.
I was also pleasantly surprised at how good the sound is!

I reseached 4K TVs with low input lag specifically for use with my Xbox. After all the reviews, I kept coming back to Samsung, which was fine by me as it’s my third Samsung TV and I’ve been very happy with all of them. This TV is great! The form factor is sleek and clean. There is only one cable to the television, so cable management is easy. The picture is gorgeous! The color and sharpness are phenomenal. This is my first TV with HDR, and it is definitely worth the upgrade over a 6000 series.

This Samsung 4K tv is so much better than Our old tv. The color and smooth movement make old movies look totally new. The smart part of the tv is pretty cool too with the voice control remote! I was really impressed how a small remote with so little buttons can control all my devices!! This tv was worth every penny and It is just a great tv.

This was a great TV while it worked. After only 18 months the bottom 5 inches of the screen periodically shows parallel horizontal lines that bounce up and down, compressing the content of that part of the screen. Samsung tech support will tell you that the warranty ends at 12 months and that they have no interest in identifying why their relatively new TV is failing.

I love the fact that this is a 4k tv with hdr capability that takes the quality of pictures to videos to a whole new level. Crispy crystal clear and vibrant colors. Although i dont have much to say but im loving this samaung 55 inch 4k tv, love the design of the remote control, and the thinness of the back of the tv. I say it a bit heavy and this will require two people to lift and carry around. It looks nice on my tv stand, great viewing at all angles i like the tv guide interface, clean and simple. I like that it offers 4 hdmi instead of 3. 3 usb ports too. Its clutter free where u dont see the cables in the way, which is even better. Doesnt feel cheaply made and doesnt look cheap when looking at it. Overall, great quality and great tv.

This is an excellent choice for under $1000 55" TV. Color is vivid, motion blur is non-noticeable for most TV/movie watching, and most importantly the overall picture quality is excellent. I like the remote and the interface. I also like the recent addition of the Sling TV app. There are a couple of things that I do not like. It does not have any RCA input for an old game console. I bought an RCA to HDMI converter and can play Wii now. The viewing angle is okay for an LED TV, but if you are used to a good plasma TV as I am, you will notice a difference. My living space is large (17x22), so this might not be an issue in a smaller room. Light reflection on the screen can be bothersome depending on the locations of your room lights and windows. Overall, this is an excellent 55" TV for under 1k. I would give 4.5 but not 5. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Got this TV during Black Friday for a great price and I gotta say I'm really impressed with it. Unboxing was easy and set up didn't take long at all. This was my first smart TV and I was able to get familiar with the controls right away. The picture quality with the 4k resolution and the HDR make this TV incredible. Not only do 4k movies look amazing, but I think it significantly improves the picture on my cable channels. You will not regret buying this TV. Would highly recommend pairing it with a Samsung 4k blu ray player to take advantage of the Tv's full potential..

This is a fantastic TV. My family is very brand loyal to Samsung and this TV confirms our brand loyalty once again. It has brilliant colors, a great refresh rate, and an amazing smart hub. If you are just out of college like me, you probably don't have cable. This TV does a great job with streaming Netflix, Amazon and more. The quality of the picture and even the sound on the TV speakers is excellent for a smaller room or midsize home theatre. Samsung has really outdone themselves with this TV.

Just picked this up to use with my new Xbox One X and it changed my gaming experience! I was debating between this and the Sony X800 series models but I'm glad I went with this one. The sleek silver design of the tv really makes it pop. Although that's not really important when it comes to tvs, it does look sexy with the rest of my decor lol.
This tv does take some configuration to really optimize the HDR. Make sure you go into the settings and turn the HDR on for the individual Inputs.

I been in the market looking for a decent 4k tv with HDR. And this one did the job.So during Black Friday i decided it is time to hopped on the 4k tv train and buy this 55 inch 4k hdr tv to replace my 32 hd led tv from Vizio. I heard many great things about Samsung 4k tv and been eyeing the samsung tv for awhile, my other option was Sony, but i made up my mind as seeing Samsung had great features. but who knows maybe i will get a sony in the future. The design is sleek and when i turn on the tv to setup and watch some hd channels, it was breath taking. well worth the money spent. With motion rate 240, i be enjoying action pack movies with joy, Another reason to my purchase is that it offers 4 hdmi instead of 3 hdmi, and includes 3 usb ports. with my last tv had only 3 hdmi, the added one more hdmi was a big plus and now i don't have to go back and keep changing them. I like the clutter-free cables and it makes the area under neath the tv not so messy. i like the borders around the tv as it is thin borders. the Audio is amazing, it does a great job in sending out audios around them room for clarity. Overall i am just impress with this 4k tv.

I spent hours researching the best bang for your buck lower to mid level 4K tv. Something that had 120hz refresh, HDR, and built in apps like Netflix. This set fit the bill. Great picture, intuitive interface between air tv, Netflix etc. the only gripe I’ve had is the air channel guide is slow, it takes a while to load the channels, but a minor issue only when using the guide.

I've had my TV for about 30 days. Did the complete setup myself, even lifting TV (38 lbs) onto my stand....took about 1 1/4 hrs. from box opening. Love the slide-in legs & overall sleek look. Remote took a little getting used to....but now using my Dish remote. I haven't tried any actual 4K or HDR yet but the picture quality of Blu-ray discs is amazing....must be the up-scaling technology. Regular Dish 1080P picture is also really nice (from latest Hopper3 receiver). A surprise is the really good sound...I was expecting to purchase a sound bar but have decided not to....Note: My 55" TV is in a smaller room where I sit about 10 feet away from the screen. BTW, Best Buy did a price match for me....they are true to their word on that....I try to always buy from them to support my local store. Will add to this review later as necessary but right now...VERY HAPPY!
