Great 4K TV for price good 24p plasma-like blacks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last TV was a 46" Panasonic plasma HDTV that still works very well that I bought just over half a decade ago and I went with a plasma specifically because it produced the darkest of black colors for HDTV's. And I went with the MU8000 because it does black colors well, almost plasma-like, very impressive for an LED around this price range. I did extensive research and as far as I can tell currently this might be the best 4K TV deal out right now. Good blacks, great color, and the 24p film playback is spot on. I mention this because there are only a handful of 4K TV's that can play movies at their intended 24p frame rate without messing it up with the 120hz refresh rate that makes movies look like soap operas and this is one of a handful of models that can do it, though, you have to manually change the frame rate from 24pm to 60p in the TV's settings. If you want something better than this 4K TV your going to have to double or triple the price to pay for QLED technology on the Samsung's and the equivalent technology on the high end Sony's, LG's, etc. Just going down one model to the MU7000 gives you less dramatic blacks and the 24p is wonky and apparently the next model up the MU9000 is only a bit better than this MU8000. I actually like the sound on this TV and have not had to adjust any settings for it, though a lot of people have complained about it but I do not know what the big deal is. The picture quality is comparable to Sony's or LG's around the same price range but this model is usually $50-100 less, so again the best deal out there. And oh yeah, its really good looking 4K TV. I first returned a lower end MU6000 model missing the positive virtues I mentioned above and also realized what a better looking model the MU8000 also was besides being an overall better unit. Lastly, I don't usually mention TV remotes but the one that comes with this TV is really streamline and it also learned to control my Xbox One, which is great since that is what I mostly use to stream and watch media with.

Excellent 4K TV with HDR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Samsung 8000 series 4K TV with High Dynamic Range in the Summer for my Family Room and have been extremely satisfied with its sharpness, clarity, brightness, deep blacks, and super wide viewing range--everything I wanted. I compared it in the store at the time with a 7000 series and a 9000 series. It's far better than the 7000, but I couldn't see a difference to step up to a 9000. It's definitely a bargain to get the last-year's model. I have been sooo happy with it, that I have just purchased a 2nd identical unit for my Dad as a Christmas Gift to replace his old Vizio.

My first 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first 4K tv. I have been waiting on the prices to drop and they did!! The colors with the HDR are amazing!!! Yo can’t go wrong with Samsung. I have 4 Samsung’s and had no problems with any of them. The box that connects all of your devices is a great addition. It helps keep the area around the TV looking clean!!! The remote is also a great new addition. I am still figuring a lot of it out but the voice command is a nice touch. I am getting ready to buy another one tonight to replace one of the bedroom TVs. You can’t go wrong with this TV.

Good value on upgraded tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was running a plasma and wanted an upgrade. This TV offered almost everything I wanted for the price, got it just before black Friday. Picture is good, and compared to my old plasma the sound is great. The motion blur is a bit trying and can say that's the hardest thing to get used to, but having a budget I couldn't step up to the OLED or anything with a better than 240 motion rate. I enjoy video games and a lot of fast action sports so the ghosting is visible but not terrible. The other part of why not 5 stars, and this general for all TVs, is why doesn't any TV manufacturer offer all the things good with a TV WITHOUT having it be a smart TV. I get everything I want through my console and now it's doubled for no reason. With this being my only complaints it is still a real good TV.

Great Picture / Average Motion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this t.v. for about a month now. The picture is beautiful and crisp with great color. The aesthetic look is very sleek. The set up, remote and applications are very intuitive and easy to use. The sound is what you would expect. The only issue is the motion of the picture. Bright, slow scenes are stunning. So, if you only watch the news it's great. However, I had issues with darker and faster scenes with the factory settings. There is a "movie" setting which can help a bit, but I was still experiencing stuttering while the camera would pan and a ghosting effect in the darker scenes. I read up on it and the t.v. is refreshing at a much higher rate of frames than the picture feed coming into it. Movies are shot around 30 frames per second and reality/sports is shot around 60 frames per second. Therefore, it tries to guess what should be there in between while it's refreshing at 120 frames per second. Overall, sports was great to watch, but movies were a bit tough at first. I found that changing the settings for the "movie" view by turning off the Smooth Motion technology, turning off the noise control and making sure the sharpness was turned down made all the difference in the world. The dark scenes are still a bit iffy, but the motion is much smoother. It probably doesn't matter as much if you are only watching blue ray all day, but if you are watching cable or steaming where the speed maybe a bit off this should help. Overall, this is a great picture at a good price.

Great Picture, easy setup, minor glitch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use with my PS4 Pro. I was using a 1080 Optoma projector prior to this purchase and I wanted to make the 4K HDR upgrade. The picture on this TV is incredible. I've been using it for a few months now and still appreciate the quality of the picture for gaming and regular blu Ray movies. Adjusting the settings is pretty striaght forward overall, although it did take a littler googling to get the ps4 to acknowledge and send HDR to the TV. My only complain is that there is an occasional red "tear" that cuts through the picture. IT doesn't happen all the time and is pretty minor. I haven't figured out what is causing it- perhaps I need to adjust some settings? The TV itself looks great on the wall. It really is a cool piece of tech.

Excellent TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was upgrading from my 32 inch LED Samsung and wanted something that will provide an amazing viewing pleasure. This TV does not disappoint. Purchased during black Friday sale week and not only did I get the best price but got the best TV for the price. This TV is one of the only ones that say 240 motion which is 120 refresh rate and this price. That refresh rate makes a huge difference when watching HDTV programs. This TV also has the amazing HDR settings. Everything just looks awesome on this TV.

Blown away! Great tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What an upgrade this tv was from what I had. I had a first gen 40'' Samsung smart tv with the 240 refresh which for the time was great. After the easy initial set up I was immediately blown away by the clarity and ease of use. The apps page is easy to use and makes switching functions quick. The speakers were better than I thought they would be. They are great for a normal bedroom or small living room but, you definitely would need more for a larger room. Overall great purchase.

The Tv we've been looking for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking into the Samsung Tvs, since this is the brand we like. Was not sure between the series, was going to get the 7, after we spoke to the representative we went with the 8(for $20 more), no brainer. Very happy with our decision. The set up was very easy(no screaming) love the one connect. The picture is amazing and my husband is in love with being able to talk to be remote, instead of hunting for channels. This Tv will make winter a little more enjoyable.

Exceeds expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been watching the 8000 and 9000 models for about 2 years. I was disappointed when the new model year did not initially receive the great reviews of the previous model, however, I continued to watch the price and reviews. The numbers went up for the reviews and on Black Friday the numbers went down on the price. I have had high expectations for this purchase, and so far the TV is outperforming those expectations. It was easy to set up, and once it was I am completely enjoying the picture quality. It is bright, clear, and watching sporting events there is very little motion blur. The remote is functionable, but I use our DirectTv remote mostly anyways. I am even pleasantly surprised by the sound. We purchased a 3.1 soundbar....the soundbar does enhance the audio performance, but not as much as I thought it would. We are extremely happy with the purchase of this TV and would highly recommend it!

Well...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the reviews I read on this tv were all great but I haven’t had the greatest experience with it. I’ve had the tv since Christmas ‘17. I liked the overall look since the screen is mostly all you see. I also like the 4K, HDR ability that would work well with my Xbox One X and all the 4K movies I would be watching on it. There are times when the picture looks brilliant and I’m so happy with the tv but more times than not the hdr feature makes my games, movies and regular tv shows darker. Even putting the brightness to the max it is extremely dark. The inconsistency in how vibrant colors should look compared to what they do is disappointing. I’m constantly messing with the settings to make it look nicer for friends and family that come over to watch a soccer match/ basketball game. I remember asking the individual who sold me on buying this tv if a room with lots of sunlight would be good with this tv and he assured me there wouldn’t be any issues. Wrong. For the price of the tv at the time I would have thought it would be better than what it is. The smart features are great and I like how it automatically connects and recognizes new devices. If you saw my tv you would not assume it was a newer tv. Some of this might be related to the Apple TV 4K, but goodness it shouldn’t be such a struggle to make the picture look great. By the time I was ready to take the time I was ready to take the tv back, it was past warranty. If the floor experts weren’t yes men and actually said, “you know what, I’ll have to ask someone else if it’s a good tv for that type of room.” I might have had a better tv.

Great TV for the Price, Amazing Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am amazed at this TV. I love the remote hookup for the inputs, and with four HDMI I have plenty of inputs I can use. In addition, the smart features on this TV are great. I've never had a YV or BluRay player that actually had smart apps I would use, I always went back to my Chromecast, but the smart apps on this Samsung TV are great. The picture quality is amazing, even on regular HD content, let alone on 4K HDR content.

Incredibly simple set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had exceptional assistance narrowing down which tv was right for us. Took it home and installed it onto the same wall mount as the unit it replaced. From turning the power on to watching tv was just a couple of minutes. The universal remote is super simple and has good control from a distance and at sharp angles. Picture quality is superb and the smart tv functions are very intuitive.

Great TV and a Great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After an exhaustive search for the tv we wanted and lots of research, we ended up purchasing this particular tv. The colors are rich and vibrant, and the exterior design looks great in our living room. Assembly was pretty straight forward. About the only issue we had thus far is the length of the power cord. There is a built in "channel" so that if you were to mount this tv on the wall, the cords are out of sight and give a professional look. Even if you remove the cord from this channel, it is still pretty short. If you have an outlet nearby it may not be a big deal. We ended up moving the power strip inside the entertainment center to account for the short length. Other than that, we are extremely pleased. The remote control that comes with this tv is pretty good as a universal remote and simplifies control.

Great picture for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture and easy to set up. Worked well with my existing wall mount. Maybe a serious gamer or someone with a more critical eye would suggest going with a better model but for me, I spent Thanksgiving weekend binge watching Godless on Netflix and this TV crushed it.

Picture perfect for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There were less expensive TV's or a bit more expensive... I chose the Samsung model because its got great 240 rate, sounds good even without the sound bar and the picture looks great with Netflix, Blu Rays, sports or regular cable. The remote is awesome and plugging it all into 1 central hub has worked great and eliminated a sea of cords!
