This is a great tv for my first 4k UHD with HDR experience. Up conversion is the thing that was most important, since most signals are broadcast in 1080p or less. So far, the quality of my signal has been enhanced and makes watching tv more enjoyable. I purchased an Ultra Blue Ray HDR disc to play to get the full resolution, however, there was not enough difference to warrant buying Ultra 4k disc over regular blue ray disc. Overall the experience is greater and highly recommended over other formats.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade from our 40” Samsung for a few years, and finally pulled the trigger on this 4K 8000 series. The trim, look and picture are outstanding. The smart connect is a nice feature, especially to only hide one cord. There are so few things to buy in-store these days, but the salesman was super helpful and I was really glad I went for the 8000 series- worth the extra money in the end I think! Just don’t get sold on a 4K HDMI cable- do a quick search online and there isn’t a difference in the cords from my research.

This Samsung is an explosion of color and sharp images. Being Smart helps, too! And, I have to say, that the sound it delivers is 100% better than I expected although I have a Klipsch sound bar. I am 71 and my wife is 67 and we have vision issues but this Samsung was a quantum leap over the old Samsung. Thanks.

I bought this for a bedroom. I wanted a TV that i could use with my Samsung Android and this feature works great on this TV. I use the smart TV apps to stream anything I need to watch, no cable or antenna connection at all. Great picture. I really like the remote it comes with as well. Highly recommended

I originally considered the 7000, but after studying specs, the jump from the 6 series to the 7 did not seem worth the price, but the jump from the 7 to the 8 is worth every penny. Super brightness and refresh rate. Picture mode changing with voice command is super for jumping between video sources

I bought the tv for gaming, and also the smart features. Gaming is beautiful in 4k, and the smart hub is super easy to use. I'm very happy with it. One thing, mounting was a pain since only one type of screw seems to work, 8mm by 50mm, but it didn't come with them? Unless I missed it.

55" is all my apartment will hold. It's like a play inside my living room. Can tell how shows are being filmed. Standing behind the camera. Got it in time to binge Stranger Things - both seasons - on Netflix. I haven't seen anything like this picture, color, sharpness, size. OMG.

We replaced a 5 year old Samsung LED which still had an outstanding picture but wanted 4K capability and the benefit of the newer electronics. The picture is superb and the setup was quite simple. Our only regret is our previous TV had a swivel stand while this one is stationary.

Excellent so far. Superb colors and contrast. Unboxed and TV was flawless. Pleasant delivery from Best Buy. We wall mounted ours in our living room which is bit over 200 sq ft, and it feels a little on the small side when watching from the farthest corner about 10 feet away or so (a little bit of a strain to read some subtitles at this distance for me, and I have 20/20 vision). Remote works excellent, though I haven't tried voice commands because I didn't want to consent to ads. Controls are super responsive, and bootup time is quick. We have ours connected through HDMI to an AV receiver at the back of the room and works well. LOVE the Ethernet port! Thanks Samsung! We're a little paranoid about the health hazards of constant EMF radiation so we try to avoid any wireless connectivity where possible. Had ours for about a month now and no issues. Lord willing she holds up for a long while! Merry Christmas!

My first 4K TV and I love it. Did the usual homework reviewing all I could find on latest 4Ks out there and this had high marks. Great picture in 4K and 1080p. Has received two updates and each improved the smart functions (which are also the best I have utilized).

I bought this TV because I wanted one with HDR, It was between Samsung and the Sony at about the same price. Both had great reviews. After giving it some thought I decided on the Samsung only because of the one connect box. Very happy with the TV, you will be also.

The picture quality is exceptional. This is the 4th Samsung TV I've owned. Setup was flawless and the remote control is designed for simplistic use and is universal. Online connection to Netflix, Amazon and wifi was a breeze. Would highly recommend the product.

The TV has excellent clarity, color and black!! Samsung One Connect is so simple and easy and smart technology completed the ease of installation by simply turning it on and following on screen checks. Bottom line I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

I compared this Samsung 55u8500 to the Sony xbr55900E because they were in the similar price range. At the store, I did several subjective visual test with highest medium and low motion control, noise filters and brightness. Both were subjectively pretty close except the following. Samsung showed the least noise in deep black or neutral in all settings. What really won me to Samsung was the ability to custom adjust the aspect ratio or individual Horizontal and Vertical zoom level in 4k and HD. This feature allows me to get rid of the black banners top and bottom when the 4k movie is 21:9 theater wide albeit loosing the full left and right side of the picture. The Sony had this feature disabled when switching to 4k. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. I don't believe I would ever need to watch this TV in full brightness as in medium settings is already too bright.

This TV has everything...easy setup, smart capability, voice command, internet, all the icons already there to use. The picture quality is awesome even though I don't get 4K through my carrier yet. The TV has a built in system to make normal cable clearer.

Recently bought this Tv and I’m very happy with my purchase. Lot of modes for changing the picture quality and I finally stick with HDR mode but the only concern is not able to find which mode give the best quality picture. Can someone help me with that?

Went in planning to buy another hdtv because mine didn't play nice with roku (tv was 11 yrs old). The picture clarity in 4k was awesome so I bought it. Sales person was extremely helpful. Tv was on sale, set up was simple....so pleased with the purchase

Had this tv for about a month now. No complaints at all. The picture looks crisp and the colors are bright and beautiful. Smart features are top notch and the universal remote controls everything right away. No setup required. Samsung never fails.

It's the premium line samsung tv which has a great image for a decent price what more can you ask for I have the 7000 series my self and this one is just a better tv overall for a few hundred dollars more you won't be disappointed I guarantee it

Our old Samsung LCD tv started getting lines and ghosting on us. So we decided it was time to get a new one. After reviewing a lot of different models, we went and looked at this one. It is amazing how far technology has come from the last TV we purchased. No longer do we need any external hardware devices in order to stream. The remote appears to be simplistic with the few buttons it has, however we have not run into any issues of being able to do anything with it. Its stylish and sleek look go very well in our living room. The added feature of making this a "clean installed look" tv is a nice bonus. They have grooves where you route the cables down through so you do not really see them. The only complaint I have is the power cable is not as long as I would like it to be. However, if mounted on a wall, I'd suspect most people would have an outlet nearby. We unfortunately have a window behind the entertainment center so wall mounting is not possible. This tv has great color range. The blacks and whites represent truly as they should. The onscreen menu is also a nice feature allowing a lot of customization like moving your favorite sources (Netflix, Pandora, Live TV OTA (Over The Air), Etc) around in the order you want them to appear. I will update this review if we run into any issues, but for the time being we are very satisfied with our purchase.
