    Great purchase experience

    Great service when selling me the product. That's where it ended, We got the tv and 7 speaker system wired, installed and technically set up successfully, but then a few days later it wasn't working all together correctly (Maybe a kid hit a button?). The tv and receiver were supposed to turn on together and all sound was supposed to come from the home theater system. It was probably just a setting on the tv or receiver or both, but we couldn't figure out how to change it back. I called Geek Squad because we had purchased support, and they told me it would be !!$650.00!! to help us get the tv settings correct. I spent $3,000.00 on the support contract, tv, receiver and home theater speaker system, and now we can't watch Netflix using the surround sound. Very disappointing. Hopefully I will find time to figure out how to fix it myself. I wish the technicians who are familiar with this could give us 5 mins of advice concerning a problem they are most likely familiar with and could solve in 10 mins what has taken us hours to try and rectify.

    Bad Motion and Build Quality

    As soon as I turned the TV on a vertical green line appeared on the right side of the screen, going all the way from top to bottom. It was visible regardless of input, menu, etc. Decided to still test TV out before returning. Motion handling was very poor, and images appeared to be "streaking" across the screen. Upscaling on lower resolution sources (720p) looked very poor as well. This TV still earned 2 stars though due to the color (HDR especially), and the Tizen OS. This is the second Samsung TV I have had problems with recently so I ended up returning this for a Sony X900E, and could not be happier. At the time of purchase, the Sony was $200 more than the Samsung, but is well worth it. Upscaling is great, motion handling is excellent, and native 4K and HDR sources look incredible.

    Not so great

    After reading a lot of reviews I went to the store to see a TCL 55". Well it's not a bad TV for the price but not what I wanted. The salesman Showed me the Samsung 8000 Series and it looked great so I bought it home. But when I got it hooked up I adjusted for 3 days and never got the picture looking right. If your right in front Of it it's not to bad but every step left or right of center the picture gets worse. The pictures below are from one end of my couch centered on the TV and the other from the other end of the couch. I returned for Sony 900E and very happy.

    2problems in 3 months

    Have had this TV for 3 months now and the picture is great when it's working. The first 30 days it quit streaming and the customer service was able to reset the tv. Now it won't cut on at all. The service people are scheduled to come out and they say they have every part that can be replaced in this TV. I'm tempted just to exchange the TV. Why is this not an option? It is under warranty. Glad I purchased the warranty. We will see how this goes. I usually like Samsung. How can I recommend this TV to a friend?

    Spontaneous TV Turn On

    We bought this model in December 2017. Picture quality, functionality, etc has been great. Very pleased. Should be a 5 Star review, right? So why 2 stars? The TV spontaneously turns itself on, mostly in the middle of the night. This is not an issue for just this set, check out the CNET forums on this subject or google the issue. It is affecting other models as well, not just the 8000. Firmware is up to date. Connected to standard DirecTV box and Roku box, nothing fancy. Samsung sound bar and sub woofer. No solution on line from Samsung. Lots of on line speculation as to the issue so at this point I can’t recommend buying a Samsung.

    The picture is very good. The remote keeps disconnecting from the TV and has to be reset every other day. The TV does not auto detect devices plugged into the TV. There are only HDMI inputs. The Anynet HDMI - CEC option had to be shut off because the TV kept turning on by itself in the middle of the night...The clock on the TV is wrong 50% of the time. The Movie picture mode looks like a series of ghost images.... I got the thing to work with my Logitech TV controller and I use and optical audio switcher to get sound. Not what you would expect for $1,300.

    We bough this TV at full price, over $2k. The blacks in the background is horrible. Color isn't the greatest. The price lowered literally half the price within couple weeks. I wish BestBuy or Samsung would of refund us a couple hundred back or send us something in return. Not worth the purchase, at least for the price we paid. $1000 for this tv sounds about right.

    Great television but the built in Wi-Fi is very po

    It took 3 days of back and forth with Samsung to get the Firmware updated and connect to the internet for live streaming.There seems to be an inherent weakness in the Wi-Fi and it won't work unless the router is very near the T.V.I had to download the update from the internet to a flash drive to update the firmware.

    Really disappointed in "high dynamic range!" Not as good of a picture as our 8 year old Samsung. Must view straight on to get a clear picture -side view is pale, very weak color. Wish we would have read reviews before purchasing. Would not have bought this unit if we had.

    I was disappointed in the picture. The features were really good A ton of Aps. Maybe if I get it calibrated, the picture would improve. This is the most important part for me. Right out of the box the picture is not good.

    Smart hub is glitchy. Returned after one week. We kept having to turn the tv off then on again to get rid of a solid magenta screen that would appear randomly. I did not call for support but instead decided to return for a sony 900e.

    Get th ks8000

    It is legit the exact same tv as the ks8000 but the ks8000 also comes with quantum dot display. It's a great tv but it's a very VERY! bad model for this new tv when it's techecly a downgrade. Get the ks8000 if possible.

    Great Display but, sound cuts out every now and then and the setting for "SPEECH" which was shown in store does not appear to show at house. Geek squad is coming this PM to see if problem can be corrected regards sound and speech.

    You will need to buy another remote if you plan on streaming video.harmony works well. Just no voice control this was a factor in my purchasing this tv.sad that samsung dropped the ball on this.

    Buy a Sony!

    Returned after just two weeks due to defect which causes screen to go black every few minutes. Exchanged it for a Sony which is much better.
