One of the best 4K TV's you can buy.

This is one of the finest 4k televisions that you can buy. The pictue is wonderful right out of the box. It was easy to setup. The remote is crazy cool. Just point it at your cable DVR box and it learns the code....no buttons pushed...and it learned all the other electronic gizzmo codes too. Wow. I heard a lot about OLED TV's...and how black they can get...and I looked at them...however...those demonstrations are special circumstances...and...you have to realize...if you want realistic blacks/darks...then you won't be using total OLED black anyway. The Blacks on this TV are very realistic...and very pleasing. The picture is very bright and realistic. I did turn down the back lights to 18...out of 20...and set the colors to the warm setting...and that's it. One caveat...If you plan to use your existing wall mount...VESA...or buy a VESA mount...one that's generally considered usable on all VESA compliant sets...then you're going to need to buy four M8-1.25-45mm screws...available at Lowes for $3.37. The ones that I purchased had a 13mm hex bolt head...but were perfect. Just don't over tighten. I'd recommend hand tight. Well, that's it...get one...and you won't be sorry.

The picture on this TV was awesome, but in less than a month the sound stopped working. The good news is Best Buy was awesome to deal with in getting a replacement!

TV keeps turning off on its own. I contacted Samsung and they said I needed to download the latest software update on a flash drive through my PC and then install it onto my TV. Is it too much to ask to have a TV that stays on without having to download anything on flash drives? Every TV I own is a Samsung and I’ve always been very pleased with the quality, but I am so disappointed with this model. Additionally, the remote is horrible. Not a single number on it. And only a handful of buttons with no words. Totally useless.

The tv shuts off after about 45 minutes to 1 hour of viewing. Other reviews state they have similar issues. Unfortunately, I did not read them in advance. Luckily, I contacted Best Buy and they are bringing a better tv this week to replace this one.

    A good choice for it's price-point

Like most others, did a reasonable amount of research to decide on a new 4K 55 upgrade to my 12 year old 42 inch Vizio. Can't complain about this older Vizio, it has given me good service. Trying to wade through a sea of different offerings was interesting, but in the end I settled on the Q6. Since making this purchase, I am extremely satisfied with the picture quality, ease of operation, and especially like the remote along with it's voice capability. As I said, I looked at a lot of different TV's and sure most from the big main manufacturers like Sony, LG, Samsung, etc. are pretty comparable as far as picture quality and other attributes. I guess one can get really technical and picky as far as specifics. For me, the final aspect was the price-point for this tv along with the quality of the picture, sound, and ease of operation.

    In depth review

I try to keep an un-bias opinion when writing a review. So here is mine on the: Samsung - 55" Class - LED - Q6F Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR ------------------- -- Overview -- ------------------- I have had this TV for a long time (Purchased in May 28, 2018 and it is now July 2022) and I absolutely love it. I'm a sucker for great TV quality and when I was searching for TVs, I did a lot of research on them. If you want a good TV, this was a good option. However, this TV is not available for NEW anymore. So buying something similar would be great. My experience with this TV is Easily 5 out 5. Will I be upgrading? Of course I will, but it doesn't change my review. --------------- -- Pricing -- --------------- For the price range I was looking at ($1000 max), I definitely wanted to have a good TV. Although this TV is not available "New" anymore, I actually bought this TV from the Display (Out of Box) because all it had was a missing the remote and there was a small ding at the top of the TV that you wouldn't even notice because I don't because it's on the top...but also you don't see it from the front or unless you actually LOOK for it. (I'm so OCD with things and want things in good condition) I purchased it for $842 and the original price was $999. So I saved some money while not buying this during Black Friday or some other deal day. [[ I also recommend buying TVs during Memorial Day over Black Friday because some manufacturers create special TV models specifically for Black Friday and you might lose some of the features that TV normally would have...so be careful and do your research if you buy one on Black Friday! ]] ------------ -- Pros -- ------------ Picture Quality. It is definitely 100% a pro. The best part about this TV. This TV has BEUATIFUL and Stellar picture quality. I watched movies with family, friends and coworkers and they all love the quality of this TV. Size upgrade at the time. Not really a Pro, perse, since it does vary on what size you want, however, at the time I had a 32 inch TV, my wife and I were moving into a new apartment and this new 55 inch was the perfect size. I now have since moved into a house and have my own designated home theater area in the basement to which I will upgrade this TV to at least a 75" in the future and will be putting this one in my living room or bedroom. ------------- -- Cons -- ------------- Sound. I don't count this in my review. As I stated earlier, TVs all have pretty poor sound. I recommend to always have a sound bar. Even a cheap sound bar can be better than your TVs sound. There are really only 2 problems I have with this TV... Refresh Rate/Motion Blur. Sometimes, NOT ALWAYS, when something moves fast on the TV (Like....Spider-Man swinging really fast through the city of New York), you some poor motion blur..it doesn't seem to really catch it. This is not the movie; I strongly believe this IS the TV. Some people don't really notice it, such as my wife, but I do. Screen Blackouts. Sometimes the TV will do a very quick flash of black, white, and even sometimes purple...which could be a bad sign. However, I have had Geek Squad come over and check it out. Since then, it probably does this maybe....once or twice every other month? And I'm the only one who even notices it who watches. -------------------------------------------------- -- What would I buy for next time? -- -------------------------------------------------- Backlight Type. This TV has Edge lit. Next time, I will be looking for a Full Array Lit TV. This helps with dimming and darker blacks. Size. This TV is 55". Next time I will be looking for something much larger for my hometheater area. I prefer TVs over Monitors, so getting a larger screen will cost...a nice pretty penny. 4k or 8k ? Really, I don't think it will matter. 4k is amazing. Upgrading to 8k? I don't really think you will even notice. I honestly believe it will only matter depending on how far away you sit from the TV. The closer you sit to the TV, and the larger size TV you get, then maybe a 8k is best. But if you sit far away from your TV, just stick with a 4k and save some money! You won't notice the difference.

My 5 year warranty just ran out of 2/23/23 and the picture on this Tv is still going. The picture is still bright and clear after all this time. I even like the picture on this tv better than on my newer Samsung Q80.

I bought this TV to replace a 3D 55”, 240hz Samsung that I bought in 2013. (That model is producing beautiful pictures at my friend’s house that I sold it to) This model is a step up. Just as sharp as my previous model but better color, better detail, it’s just “juicier”. Smoother. Gorgeous. It “pops”. The new technology works. I don’t think you can go wrong with this TV at the price point. Your friends will be impressed, but so will you............ every time you turn it on. My wife and I haven’t stopped saying “WOW”.

I had originally purchased the Sony x900e after reading many positive reviews. After getting it set up, I was surprised by just how slow and sluggish the UI was. The picture was really nice but after an update, my tv would brick when simply going through settings. This had become a known bug. Between the two issues mentioned, I figured if I just dropped a grand on a TV then it better impress me more than this. Enter the Samsung Q6F. I noticed it too had gone on sale for the same price as the Sony, and as a gamer I noticed it had lower input lag. The Samsung picture is every bit as good as the Sony except the black levels are not as good because of the edge lit design vs the Sony with FALD. The UI is much faster than the Sony and does not feel bogged down at all. Both tv's are really nice, however I chose to keep the Samsung based on the fact that it just feels better out of the box to me. I highly recommend!

Love color sound and love the one connect plus the new remote recognized all my devices automatically programmed them and works seamlessly It is best tv under a grand period if the LG OLED was in this price range its only tv I would even consider and only if its in a dark location OLED sucks in a bright room this tv is Gorgeous looking comes with all the stuff u need minus a cable if you have any 4k equipment it will make it pop out at you seriously I have been a high end tv buyer forever at 1600 bucks it was a fair deal but at 999 its a no brainer you will love this tv

This television (the Q6F QLED model) is spectacular. While it's always been my opinion that Samsung has seemingly possessed interminable issues with rendering blacks, that is not the case with this TV. All the colors are bold, clear, crisp, and vibrant, with black being inky and gloriously Delphic and impenetrable. The images produced by this television are extremely sharp and dynamic. And the operation between the television and several other Samsung peripherals is effortless and intuitive. Even the remote control is innately pleasing to use, though I must admit that its simple elegance proves confounding on occasion, but that is due more to my familiarity with remotes that resemble the size and complexity of a particle collider instead of the magisterial accessibility of *drumroll* an android smartphone. #eatItAppleFanBoys "Meh, whatever," you say. "Just how do you use this TV?" you ask. Ha! I use it like a boss! From watching Blu-Ray and 4K movies via a Blu-Ray player to streaming amazon prime, Netflix and HBO programming from a Fire Stick, playing video games via an XBox, and casting youTube video from my cell phone, the results have been consistently flawless. I enthusiastically recommend this item for anyone who is in need of a new TV, particularly since it's currently $500 off.

Tv is great the colors are amazing and the tv can still be seen clearly is direct sunlight I love it. I had to play around with the colors to make perfect to how I like it and now it’s perfect. I did have some issues with my first tv and had to get it exchanged but this one is perfect no issues. I really highly suggest buying the geek squad protection.
