Not what I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Smart TV - They neglected to tell me that I wouldn't get the WOW factor in color on all channels - They claim its because Xfinity (or any) provider isn't up to date. Then apparently my sound bar is to old! Service is difficult too!

Posted .Hi Chance,
Our 2018 Q8F Series features a billion+ shades of Q Color with 100% color volume, Full array backlight, Ultra Black elite, HDR 10 plus, Auto game mode and more, all designed to give you the best in lifelike, crystal-clear viewing enjoyment from the darkest to brightest scenes.
I am very sorry to see that you were not happy with the picture quality of your unit.
In addition to the display screen, the quality of the image on your screen also depends on the source and the connection.
HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing; and when possible, 4k Content will provide the best picture quality.
The quality of the streaming content depends largely on the speed of your internet, as most content providers have adaptive streaming that would automatically adjust the image quality based on the network bandwidth.
Please give us the opportunity to assist you with image quality adjustments tailored to your preferred viewing experience via one of the following options:

Picture not as good as in store
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Samsung but I have been disappointed in the picture quality. It’s not horrible but for what I heard about the Q series it wasn’t that good when I got it home and set up.

Q8FN backlight doesn't come on sometimes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd Q8FN 55" TV and both occasionally do not fully turn on. I returned/replaced the 1st for another lemon. Looking very closely at the TV, I can see that the LCD is on and hear the power-on chime but the backlight doesn't always come on. I have to unplug the TV or hold the power button to reset the TV. The backlight then powers on as usual and I can see the menu system. But in a few hours or the next day the same thing happens. Is this systematic ie. a model wide problem? Manually updating to the latest firmware did not help the issue. All Samsung could advise was to have it serviced (Hahaha, brand new TV serviced!!) or get another brand...seriously that is what their tech rep told me!

Poor Quality Control/Screen Imperfections
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried 2 different units of this TV (q8f) and had screen imperfections on both. The first one had about 7 or 8 dead pixels on the panel. So exchanged it for another one and that one had a really bad screen flaw as well. The best way to explain it is it looked like there was a quarter sized piece of dirty tape under the screen. I really wanted to get this TV. Usually you cant go wrong with Samsung. But I'm either very unlucky or Samsung's quality control has declined lately. For the price of this TV I was shocked at the defects I had with these high-end Samsung TVs. After trying 2 of these and lugging these back and forth to the store I ended up going with a LG for the 3rd time. The oled b8 and guess the third time is the charm cause there is no visible screen defects or imperfections.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, so I broke and got this set (55" Q8F) after seeing that a friend of mine had upgraded her TV during black Friday. I had a 6 series Samsung curved TV before this, and I wanted to stay curved but they were all sold out of the QLED 7 series curved. Anyway, the 240hz, and backlighting is what initially sold me since I game a lot, and I wanted a better gaming/movie experience, it was time. I had almost opted for the Q6 to save money, and I would've lost some features, but I'm so glad I didn't. First off, the picture on this is absolutely gorgeous! Well... it is after you tweak the settings a bit. Out of the box it's super bright and overkill contrast, so you'll def want to adjust things. I think this part is where some buyers may be turned off by the TV, as navigating the menus can be confusing at first. There are also other picture options that are in another section of the settings menu (like black levels and motion judder/blur) which SHOULD be under the picture settings. After about 35 min of fine tuning things, I can honestly say I have no regrets spending the amount I did for this purchase. I've always had crap luck with TVs and end up always getting one with slight clouding, or with LGs, I get image retention from day 1, but this screen thankfully has zero issues. Love the black levels and colors, and how everything pops, and looks sharp while gaming. Netflix streaming in UHD/HDR looks amazing, and I actually enjoy the sound.. I can actually hear dialogue at low volume levels whereas on my previous Samsung curved I always had to crank the volume up to hear anything. Long review over, and all I can say is if you are looking for a new set, and have the money to blow, buy this thing!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Save yourself the headache and frustration. Lasted 4 weeks. Called Samsung, the rep gave me # and told me I could swap it out for a new TV. Called Best Buy twice who said # was not in the system. Called Samsung, who said no no TV, that ServiceQuick, Inc would have to repair. We read the service company, though they haven't been here yet, but time will tell. Going back to Sony and Costco for purchases where you have at least 90 days. What a nightmare.

Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has been an issue from the day I purchased it. I was constantly on with Samsung support. The issue is that you can change channels, but they don't actually change. It will be stuck on a previous channel until I get up and unplug it and plug it back in. Such a waste of big money.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an issue with the power button on one of these but best buy swapped it out no problem. I usually would switch to a different product after getting a broken device but the QLED is amazing. I have owned the LG OLED B7A and the QLED, they have about the same picture but with way less judder and motion blur on the QLED. Making it superb for gaming. I love this tv.

Happy with My Choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been wanting to upgrade from my OLD Samsung 23in 1080P computer monitor, with TV Tuner for several years; without any real reason to upgrade. Over the years I have evaluated several brands and models. This season the stars aligned and I decided to purchase something during Black Friday Pricing. The Best Buy Store rep had earlier suggested the Q8F as the best bang model, but, I thought it to be a Hybrid Kludge that lacked current features. After further study and reading the reviews I became sold as the best model for 55in. Upgrading to 65in & Q9F was not worth the price difference, and the leader LG OLED got ruled out. So far after 2 weeks I have had it it has proved to be wonderful. I wasn't overly impressed with the picture even though it looked great until I visited friends and relatives over Christmas and saw their crappy NON QLED TVs that looked so good before, (spoiled, me?) I have tested all the inputs and features and have found no major issues, that others have reported. For personal reasons I only have low band width public wi-fi, No direct internet or cable/satellite. I live in a very challenging OTA reception area due to terrain and distance. I can only pick up 1 nearby PBS station OTA on my 23in using a good flat thin panel amplified antenna. Several of my neighbors have reported getting several commercial stations on their cheap Chinese TVs, so I was hoping for more. After connecting the amplified antenna to the Q8F I received NO stations. After trouble shooting I went back to my old standby the OEM Rabbit Ears from a 25 year old portable TV. With the rabbit ears standing on my printer leaning against the window. Once again it seems the rabbit ears provided the best reception of all. I now receive the original PBS station with slightly higher signal strength and the one major commercial station that my neighbors can not receive; but, not the 4 other good ones.. I know it looks like crap and is a pain to move if I need to use the scanner but for now I will live with it. Set up was easy, except for some reason it took many tries to link to Samsung Smart Things on my galaxy phone for configuration. It would not accept the PIN correctly. There also seems to be occasional software glitches of display changing inputs. The remote always works for turn on, if I don't wait before using other remote functions it will not work and gives me a unable to pair message after awhile then goes on to working fine without any action from me.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv for our bright living room. Great picture quality and above average audio. Was considering a sound bar before installing the TV, but quickly realized it’s not needed. Smart remote setup was a bit quirky, but now that it’s complete I love it. Happy to have one controller that can do the TV’s smart features and also provide full menu and guide access on my local cable providers TiVo enabled 4K Arris box. Light weight for wall mounting. No obvious downside or negative point, except possibly the cost - but I wanted latest technology.
