Thank you for purchasing the Q60A TV. HD channels will have black bars on either side of the screen when displaying upscaled SD (4:3) content. Black bars will appear at the top and bottom of the screen when you watch movies that have aspect ratios different from your TV. Adjust the picture size options on your external device or set the TV to full screen.
Settings > Picture > Picture Size Settings > Picture Size

I like the new Samsung QLED, But I'm not going crazy over it. I am impressed that I don't need a soundbar because although it is nice and thin it has excellent speakers. The colors are very lifelike but I am not sure they are as sharp as with the Sony or even my LG.
