      Hi there,

Thank you for choosing Samsung's Q60A TV and for your review. If the picture you are seeing out-of-the-box is not to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.

You can select the Picture Mode that provides the best viewing experience. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
      1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
      2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
      3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
      4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
      5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also go to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > to manually fine tune your image.

Intelligent Mode also enables the TV to recognize and analyze the surroundings, noise, content, and your usage patterns to provide the best viewing experience. You can enable Intelligent Mode by going to Home > Settings > General > Intelligent Mode Settings. Adaptive Picture, which is among the options, optimizes brightness and provides the best picture quality in real time, based on the lighting condition and the content you're viewing.

I hope you can use these adjustment recommendations to set the image to your liking. If you would like further assistance with settings, features, or functions, please reach out to Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

I purchased this 55” tv several days ago. I would advise not to buy. I am giving an honest review. Contrast is really bad so that means any dark scenes are horrible. You have to sit directly in front of tv for clear picture. The 32” tv is great, but the 55” is not good.

      VerifiedPurchase,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung QN85A TV and for sharing your experience with sound. To optimize your sound quality, please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1708.0 which includes sound quality updates. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.

If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:
      1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model.
      2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
      3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
      4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
      5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.

Please know your TV also includes several volume features you can enable/disable/adjust to your liking.

      1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input.

      2) Adaptive Volume automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while you are watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source.

      3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode

Also, some sources have their own volume control which might be set too low. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try cable connection again.

For optimal motion image performance, you may want to adjust the picture clarity setting by going to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Picture Clarity Settings

      - Off: Picture Clarity Settings will always be off
      - Auto: Picture Clarity Settings will automatically activate and deactivate based on the type of program being watched
      - Custom: Allows custom adjustments and settings to be used. By selecting the Custom option, you can access these advanced settings for Judder Reduction, LED Clear Motion, and Noise Reduction.

I hope these tips help! Should you ever have questions or need help, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

Bought the tv and wall mounted it. 2 days after I started hearing a knocking noise when the tv is OFF. The tv worked perfectly fine but the knocking sound is very loud and inconsistent to the point where I had to unplug the tv from the outlet to get some sleep. If I were to describe the sound it’d be like water dripping from a tap. I returned it and got a new one and the newer one had the same issue after a day. No more Samsung TV’s for me. All my past TVs were Samsung. I guess it’s time to move on.

Was looking forward to enjoying my Brand New TV today. Picked up at Best Buy this morning and when the employees were “dragging” bringing it to my car I had a awful feeling something is going to be wrong. The box looked a little crushed on the right side but not torn. Got home and very carefully removed from box, set it up and turned it on. The right lower corner of the screen looked like a spider web and broken lines across the middle of the screen. Looks like cracked glass. So much for the new TV. Going back tomorrow to return.

      Eric,

Thank you for your review of the Q60A TV. We appreciate you sharing your experience with hearing an odd sound coming from your TV. Abnormal sounds will have different causes depending on where the sound originates from. Is the sound coming from your speakers, or is your TV connected to an external audio device like a soundbar? If so, please make sure that the audio cable is connected to the correct audio output connector on the external device.

For antenna or cable connections, check the Signal Information. A low signal level may cause sound distortions. Go to: Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information

If the sound is coming from the back of the TV, the expansion and contraction of the TV's outer casing may cause a popping noise. This does not indicate a product malfunction. The TV is safe to use.

You may also want to run a Sound Test by going to :
Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Sound Test

For further questions or assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.
