Purple line problem

In past I trashed Vizio TV for the same problem. Very much disappointed to see the same on Samsung TV.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Q60A TV and for sharing details of your image quality. To optimize your picture quality, please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1805.4 which includes picture quality updates. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:
1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model.
2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.
If the picture you are seeing is still not to your liking after performing any necessary updates, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
You can select the Picture Mode that provides the best viewing experience. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

DON'T BUY THIS MODEL!

My son threw the box away before I got home so I can't return it because I would get the 65' Q70 or Q80 for better quality. You get what you pay for I guess. Does anyone know how to return without the box or should I even try?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Samsung's Q60A TV. Your TV features Object Tracking Sound Lite which tracks the action with strategically placed dynamic speakers and Adaptive Sound which automatically adjusts audio to enhance everything from dialogue to music and sports.
You can select a sound mode that you prefer for a content type or your listening environment. Go to: Settings > Sound > Sound Mode
You can also customize sound with Expert Settings. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings
Additionally, there are image adjustments you can make to optimize your picture to suit your preferences. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode for the below choices:

Thank you for your review of the Samsung Q60A TV and for sharing your feedback on the sound quality of your TV.
If the audio from your TV is cutting out when connected via HDMI, the HDMI cable is most likely the cause. We recommend you replace the HDMI cable with a High-Speed cable with Ethernet Channel, labeled as HEC or HEAC on the cable.
If the audio is not cutting out and you are experiencing low volume, there are several volume features you can enable/disable/adjust to your liking.
1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input.
2) Adaptive Volume automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while you are watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source.
3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode
Also, some sources have their own volume control which might be set too low. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try cable connection again.
