Best Samsung 4k tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its the best TV I've ever owned I've never seen anything this crisp I owned the q6fn and the q8fn last year and this q80r is amazing the colors glow in the right way it reminds me more of an oled glow but yet brighter the image processing is what really makes this TV it is the best Samsung has put out look at it next to there 8k TV it almost looks identical yes it's that good the blacks are deep and the new updated ultra black elite filter really helps it idc what anybody says about the contrast side by side with my q8fn the blacks are just as deep but with much much better light control the real scene brifhtness is actually brighter on testing the new line is dimmer in the window tests but yet on real content its brighter I think that has to do with the local dimming but what matters is how it is when you watch movies and I'm telling you right now my q8fn isnt as brifht when watching content again on the testing windows the q8fn is slightly brighter but then you test the real scene content with a 2 percent highlight and the q8fn is around 600 nits just like rtings showed and the q80r is actually 1000 nits on real content I really love this TV I disnt expect it to be this good it's the first TV that has really wowed me out of the box the crisp image is just amazing loose seriously and upscaling cable and lower res content is the best like the best I've ever seen it is my favorite TV I see why the q90r reviews are so good and say it's sharper then the q9fn because the new 2019 line is people need to stop thinking about just numbers and watch the content sometimes attest can say one thing then when you see it on real content your like wow this is amazing I see why Samsung was talking about the processor this much because they should be I'm seriously blown away by this TV is you want a crisp great TV with great response and motion and also amazing flowing color but without having it in the wrong places then get the q80r or the q90r they are top notch they seriously remind you of an oled not just the blacka either just the way it displays images the crisp look the glowing colors idk how to explain it but yet much brighter guys dont second guess it sont listen to people that own last years without even owning this years trying to say last year was better because it isnt content looks better on the new line whoever tells you different is lieing because they would be able to see themselves its beautiful

Perfect Fit For Me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much research it was down to either Q-LED or O-LED and going to Best Buy to see them in person is was sealed it for me. Though looking back at it, the OLED had a list of issues that the QLED didn't. I WANTED to love the OLED. It is a new technology that I could get very excited about. But I think I was fooling myself. OLED issues (for me) - Burn in - Longevity. I read that the OLED tv's get dimmer over time and it's too dim from day one. - Response time. I am a PC gamer and the QLED is probably the best at it. ANY kind of Gaming from ANY platform (I also have an XBOX S and PS4PRo) works BEAUTIFULLY with this panel and blows away any OLED. Just plug the console in and it automatically calibrates for maximum good feelies. With the PC all you have to do is set Windows to HDR, and boom. It's a beautiful thing. - Better HDR. I am an HDR junkie. After looking at the OLED and QLED side by side watching the opening scene to Thor Ragnarok, the only difference I could perceive between the two was that the colors popped much more of the QLED. I couldn't even see a difference between the blacks. The QLED in INKY black. I honestly don't think the OLED has anything on the QLED in this regard. Srsly if you are into blacks, maybe the OLED is better? But if you are into reds, blues, greens, and every other color in the spectrum, the QLED wins (while I still couldn't see any difference between the two when it comes to blacks). I am replacing a 55" Samsung panel which I love. When I got this TV home I was a bit worried that once I hooked it up, I would discover that it would be the same or just as good as my 2016 model, but my worry turned to sheer joy when it kicked on. This thing is waay beyond that one. Especially when it comes to the blacks. This panel is lightyears ahead. When you have scenes where there are inky blacks and bright, vivid colors, this thing performs like no other panel I have ever laid eyes on. Srsly, if you are on the fence like I was, go to Best Buy and compare them with your own naked eyes. I am so glad I got to see that Thor scene with them side by side in a dim room. That spoke volumes and answered a LOT of nagging questions I had.

Love the Q80A 55"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Descriptions for this TV say it has a panel that has "wide viewing angles and low contrast ratio and better sound than the Q90". The wide viewing angles and sound were major plusses for me and this TV does indeed have both and both are excellent. My wife even said we don't need a sound bar it sounds great. The contrast is terrific and if it was any more contrasty I would be turning down that setting. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because the sound on different channels is not consistent. I don't know if this is because of the TV or the fact we have switch to YouTube vs. cable. Would have liked the 65" but the 55" fit in perfectly on the available wallspace.

PERFECT PURCHASE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this in 55 inch. The picture quality could not be better. The crisp sharp clarity and color, is the best I have ever seen. Easy set up. The stand in the picture looks questionable, but it is a very nice high quality stand. I would highly recommend this QLED to anyone. Samsung is the way to go, and this TV proves it.

regret my purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv back in February and chose it for the amazing picture quality. But I purchased it for a game console, and when playing for a few minutes in, the screen will black out for ten to fifteen seconds between its television and "game mode." I tried turning this feature off, but it does the same thing no matter what I try. Contacted Samsung multiple times, nothing remedied the problem. Finally had a tech guy come out and replace circuitry in the back, an enormous hassle since it didn't fix the problem and made certain graphics watching tv worse and made it half functional. No gaming, no internet. So the tech guy came out again, blamed me for not doing an update when he was there the first time, even though it took a half hour plus to do it and half cared about my issue to begin with. Television was fully functional again, more or less, but still left me with my original problem. He told me my console "might not be compatible with the tv." Ok. So I tried a friends-same console bought at different times in different locations and viola! The picture blacked out again. Never had this problem with my 2016 model $900 Samsung and the company seems less than interested in helping me out even well within the year warranty. Doubt I will buy from this brand again, at least I will be hesitant about any bell and whistle features if they cant get them right, even with a good movie display.

GARBAGE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 1/20. Powers up and shuts off. Another Samsung, I just bought a month ago had the same issue. Exchanged it under warranty. Yes, they are on a surge protectors although we've had no electrical issues. The most recent one lasted 1 day before crashing. Nothing like the old Samsungs. My first one lasted 14 years.

Do not buy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a terrible product. I have purchased and set up two of these televisions. The first one I bought: when I turned it on, the screen was shattered, and I had to return it. The replacement model: as I was watching tv, the screen froze and the colors distorted and it turned off. The tv has since been unable to turn on. The customer support recommended the idea of unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Genius. But even that technical wizardry did not work. Samsung has now sent a technician, but at this point I’d rather have this godforsaken thousand dollar television outside of my home to ruin another person’s week.

Will brake just sitting on the tv stand
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had the tv for less then two months and started to notice a small distortion in lower left corner of screen after a day or two distortion went away to turn into a crack int the screen after jumping thought the hoops for samsung warranty they denied are claim stating physical damage caused the screen to crack. We now have a 1300 dollor paper weight in are living room. This tv is so fragile it will brake just by shutting off and getting tuned back on. Do not buy.
