This TV has a fantastic picture quality! It also adjusts brightness automatically which is a big bonus because we have it in a room with several windows. It doesn’t catch near the glare our previous Samsung did in the same position in the room! Warning: it is heavy and requires 2 people to install on a wall TV mount.

I mean it's great... Picture is awesome. Smart features work well with Smart Things app and Google Home with Routines. The screen sufficiently reduces glare in a very sunny room (though of course there is still some reflection). Game Mode is very responsive. It is everything the online reviews said it would be.... It's just that there's always the what if I chose the LG OLED instead, since we ordered during Pandemic and did not get to see them side-by-side in the showroom.

    Incredible Picture and Sound

For the record, I’ve been Vizio through and through. However, after purchasing three recent higher end models and two failing within 6 mths of purchase and horrible customer service, I starting considering this model. And this was a wise purchase. The sound, out of the box, was incredible. Sure, I used my sound bar but if you don’t have a sound bar you’ll be perfectly fine. The picture is excellent. Rick. Full. And clear. You won’t be disappointed. If you have Comcast Xfinity, be sure to download the beta app and return your box to save on your cable bill. And, you can control the tv with Alexa and the smart things app, too. Older models are cheaper. But don’t fool yourself, go into the store and you’ll see while this tv is better than Vizio, Sony, and LG!

    Thrilled with SAMSUNG QLED

I have been enjoying my Samsung 55" Q90T, QLED 4K Smart TV. The picture is very clear with awesome definition and brilliant color presentation from any angle in the room. The sound quality is better than my 8yr old Sony Bravia, and as I have been aging, the clarity of narrative (dialogue) can sometimes be lost in movies or other programs and overpowered by the music or action taking place. This TV helps compensate for that problem. I have added a sound bar system which further gives me additional tweaking ability. Happy to have moved up from 42" to 55"!

So far no problems. Interface is a bit slow when first turned on. Picture quality is amazing! Not sure why Dolby Vision isn’t supported but hopefully there’s an update on that. Super heavy stand which requires two ppl. Was having some issues with sound bar cutting in and out but it’s prob not related to TV. Overall great for the pickiest of eyes. This is the best of the series for 2020 4K

I bought this 55 inch tv for my bedroom. It is fantastic. The features are phenomenal. I have my Samsung sound bar and sub woofer connected to it. The sound is excellent. The picture is one of the best I have ever seen. The built in wifi is spectacular. Live streaming on the tv is crisp and fluid. I like that I can connect my Samsung phone to it and control many aspects. I would buy it again.

I really like this TV. Great picture. Only problem I had was there were no screws to mount it to my TV stand. Ended up going to 2 different places until I finally got screws long enough to secure the TV to the mount. I recommend this TV, just be aware if you are planning to mount the TV to any kind of stand.

    Conflicted about this TV

I'm conflicted about this TV and the purchase. I received this TV with one of the four mounting holes blocked by a data cable. The photo with the darker lines and printed "e" inside of the mounting hole shows the defect). I communicated my concern with Best Buy store and was told to "just shove the screw in." Feeling that this was the wrong answer, I communicated with Samsung and got an equally ridiculous answer. I then called Best Buy customer service and was met with amazing help. I mean AMAZING! The representative stated, "This is no problem, we've got your back." "We'll get a new TV delivered and pickup the one that you can't mount." She really listened to my concern and took great care of me. That is why I am a Best Buy customer. It was then that I realized the difference in quality between the first TV and second TV. The first TV's display panel was way better than I could have imagined. There was no vignetting or dirty screen effect. It was crystal clear! Motion was great. Conversely, the second panel showed more dirty screen effect and a flashing of lines with most tickers and many commercials (It's especially bad for commercials with a certainly car company with a logo that looks almost like a peace sign). I adjusted the TV's display options which did not resolve these problems. I played around with the TV receiver and switching to 1080i actually helped. Eventually I switched to a different TV provider, likely with less signal compression, and that fixed about 90% of the motion problems. If your asking why I kept the second TV, it was simple... I had two panels with no dead pixels or stuck pixels. I didn't want to chance it on a third TV. Being concerned about the quality of this TV (either a computer cable sticking out of the back or screen motion artifacts) and after realizing how unhelpful Samsung customer service was, I purchased Geek Squad protection, and now I can rest easy for five years! But wait there is more... I took advantage of the Best Buy price match and was granted a refund. I received the portion of refund that went to my credit card, but am still "working" with the company for the refund to a Best Buy gift card. This has been frustrating. So if you are a person who purchases with gift cards and would take advantage of a price match, I strong recommend not making the entire purchase with a gift card.

    Horrible for gaming

The local dimming in game mode on this tv hardly works at all, its basically off. The local dimming when game mode is on is not even 10% of what it is when game mode is off. On top of that, there is only one HDMI 2.1 connection and NO support for Dolby Vision. I have a Sony 900h in the other room and it clearly destroys this tv in local dimming/black performance when game mode is activated. The Sony has the same exact local dimming performance whether game mode is on or off while still maintaining 14ms of input lag. This is unacceptable for a tv that costs nearly double. Aside from that there is a horrible dirty screen affect and a dead pixel that randomly comes off and on. The pics are in HDR with the same exact settings. The only difference is game mode on and off. here is a thread I made on Samsung's website that further explains it. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Qled-and-Frame/Q90t-game-mode-local-dimming-is-broken/td-p/1439100

Buyer beware of open box advertised as Excellent

I found this item as an open box - excellent online but it was not at my local Best Buy. It was at the Ft Meyers (Colonial Rd) location - which is a 1 hour 40 min drive. I wanted it, so I purchased it online. When I arrived, I found the product to be wrapped in bubble wrap. While I was concerned, I was assured that it was in excellent shape and all accessories were w/it. I asked them to confirm. They proceeded to look and then tell me it was missing everything but do not worry, they would put together a package that had all I needed. They scrambled & then told me they could not find a stand but found a power cord and remote that worked. I asked why it was advertised as excellent given part of excellent is that ALL accessories were incl. The manager told me that this was a corp decision for how to list it and that I should use the motto of ‘Buyer Beware’ when buying an open box from Best Buy. That was not how I viewed Best buy and was shocked. I have purchased many open items and have found them to be as represented. Anyways, I agreed to purchase it being I drove the distance but asked for a discount. They looked and said it was lowered being it was a close out, but was told everything was priced by corp & they couldn’t do anything. When I arrived home, I unwrapped it (I was not shown unit in store) & hung it on the wall. As I cleaned it I noticed a scratch on the screen, that the remote that they included for me does not work the TV and that the corner is scratched. Bottom line is that this should of been listed as fair and priced that way. I call the Best Buy toll-free number and explained my issue. I was told my options were to go back to the store to work it out or to ship it back. Well, the store is almost 2 hours away and I can not ship it because it came w/o packaging. It’s frustrating and I feel Best Buy is not any help. So I have a TV hung that has scratches that cannot be used til I get a remote. So, beware and check everything prior to leaving the store.

Although the picture is stunning initially, the wifi interface needs to be reestablished EVERY time you watch anything. I've had this for 6 months now, and now the software is failing apparently since the picture alternates between terribly blurry and perfectly clear. If I could return it, I would. Wish I could get another Samsung plasma instead. [Photos are from Mia and the White Lion]

    q90t TV a month later

I wanted to wait until I had this TV for over month before I posted a review. My 2020, I spent deep diving TV. My god did my gf wanted to kill me. I researched everything under the sun before I settled on this TV and hear is why... I literally bought and returned all of the QLED 2020s this year and the reason was each TV was returned (except this one of course) was simple: brightness. Brightness is the name of the game for TVs this year. Every TV has "HDR" but if you get a budget TV, the picture will always be dark and if you are buying a nice 4k why settle for that? Watching HDR content on Netflix is awesome. HDR is important because when you buy a smart tv ( or at least a samsung) is that you can't TURN OFF HDR if you are playing an app. If you have an XBOX ONE S or X ( or hopefully any console) you can turn off hdr and then you can get 4k but to me it looks washed out in comparison. It doesn't have Dolby Vision but tbh I can live with that. You can't find the TV that DOES everything perfectly. You can go down that rabbit hole forever. I have a PS5 and I enjoy playing Black Ops Cold War in 120fps ( it is butter and I play better because of that advantage). It has HDR10+ but really only Amazon has that for their orignal content and Google Play you can rent some movies in HDR10+. Very limiting and the difference is minimal. Regular HDR 10+ is good enough because everyone use that as of now so you can't really lose. I have a q60t soundbar and its a decent 5.1 soundbar (buy open box if you can and I have a detailed review on that best buy page) but i wanted to touch on q-symphony feature because its not well discussed. Q-symphony is a gimmick that does little... but i still like it. All it does is it makes the sound coming from the top of the screen a bit louder due to the unique speaker set up of the tv. For example, if you are watching PLANET EARTH you will be able to hear that background chirping sound a little bit louder. That's it in a nutshell. I still have it on cause why not but it's as amazing as I thought it was going to be. I do like the 8500 rear speakers and would recommend if you are gamer or watch a lot of action/horror movies (really anything). LOTS OF WORDS! In conclusion, my brother got the LG CX "the best 2020 4k TV" and its true. LG has an amazing picture and has Dolby Vision (netflix and disney+ has that). However, the ONE thing he wishes it would do is get brighter. If your TV is by a window and you want the best HDR content, Samsung q90t is what you need. The q80t does an ok job but considering that during the pandemic my TV is only all the TV, it was worth the upgrade. Everyone has different TV needs and this is not the best set up, but the best for my needs. I wanted bright HDR picture and HDMI 2.1 and that's why I landed here. I hope this helps and I'm more than happy to answer anyone's questions.

Gorgeous TV. Almost no DSE at all. But it has a dead pixel about an inch down from the center top of the screen. I tried two Q80Ts that had a dead pixel in about the same spot, an inch down from the center top of the TV, so something's going on.

Best 4K TV for Bright Rooms

This TV is outstanding for bright rooms with a lot of windows, reflections, and natural lighting. That is why I bought this TV. Overall the picture quality is good. Imagine processing is great especially if you are sensitive to stutter effects and motion. However, I would highly recommend OLED if you have a room with controlled lighting conditions. Pros: * Best TV for bright rooms with windows * Good picture quality * Anti-reflective covering is incredible * Full Array Local Dimming * Easy to use * Good build quality * Good motion processing * No burn-in * Very bright * Fast and responsive * Good auto-detection for devices * Re-assigns volume control to receiver - love this!!! * Good all-around for sports, movies, TV, gaming * Small base stand Cons: * Up-scaling is not great for low-def content like YouTube * No Dolby Atmos or Vision * Black scenes are auto dimmed * Brightness can wash out colors and detail * No published technical specs * Samsung's re-naming of models - Closer to 80R from 2019 * Disappointed 90R model was modeled to the 8K series Notes: I originally bought an OLED, but had to return it. The TV was unwatchable during the day with natural lighting and windows. Too many reflections on the screen.
