Simply put, this is the absolute best TV I've ever had. It took me a couple of hours of comparing TVs and this is by far the best picture available, with the sony CX OLED Coming in second, IMO. I had the Q80t beforehand and boy the comparison is night and day. I had to tweak the settings to fit my liking on the Q80t, whereas with the Q90t it was perfect out of the box.
I gave it a 4 star rating because like anything, there is room for improvement. The picture quality is superb, and now these days, streaming 4k content or playing a 4k game has taken my experience to new levels. It's crazy what an extra 3000 pixels will do to an image. The game mode feature also is insane and really improves your gameplay. 4k @120hz, I mean this is the best LED TV for gaming, hands down. (sony CX 2nd - again, IMO after the hours of research I put in)
The only issue I have with the TV is that when I turn off the smart feature that auto-runs last application and then turn off the TV, by the time I turn it back on, it'll still start the last app. So that doesn't seem to work as expected, as it'll still turn my console on when I don't want to just watch TV.
In regards to the image quality, without the picture motion and judder settings enabled, the fps refresh rate seems to be reduced quite a bit creating that" juddering" look, which is unsightly with a TV of this caliber. So make sure the judder settings are enabled because when they are activated, pixel transitions and refresh rates are seamless.
I do wish that it had more HDMI 2.1 ports. But I only have one console, so it's ok for me. I don't mind unplugging or re-plugging as neede, but others may not feel the same though so it may be something to consider.
Heres a last note, the blooming effect you have on the tv reduces the quality of an all Black image with a singular white item on screen, so that was a bummer. But true black on a regular screen with other objects in the background is amazing. Blooming is to be expected with any LED screen technology, so that's ok. If you're shopping still, one thing that I noticed is that the Sony CX OLED had a better black screen and didn't have any blooming affects. That's something to consider if that matters to you and if you watch alot of darker movies, if you're just browsing ratings for the last-minute confirmation or if you wanted to more information before buying. Just be weary of the burn in issues if you do choose the OLED.

I was trying to use an OLED for my main monitor, and my eyes and head just can't take it. This is the next best thing, with excellent refresh rates and response times for gaming, and is far less painful on my eyes.
It's arguably brighter, and no, you're not going to get perfect blacks, but I don't think I'm going to sacrifice my sanity for deeper blacks.

We purchased the Samsung - 55" Class Q90T Series LED 4K UHD in late September and it was installed by Geek Squad (highly recommended) on October 14th. The picture quality is EXCELLENT and so is the ease of use. We have a very bright living room (main reason why we didn't go with an OLED) and the glare on our older (2013) LG was absolutely awful. The anti glare screen on this TV is excellent. The upscaling from the 1080i cable signal to 4K is outstanding. I haven't spent much time on the settings except for removing the soap opera effect and lowering the brightness and contrast levels a little. We much prefer the "Natural" setting over the others.
We learned that because this TV has a refresh rate of 120 HZ and our cable broadcasts in 60 HZ there is a very noticeable lag between the audio and video which is very annoying. At first, this was a deal breaker but Best Buy informed me that I would likely see this with any TV that refreshed at 120 HZ. We replaced our cable box three times and the lag is still there. We proved that it is caused by the cable box because there is no audio lag when using the Apps off the internet (such as Netflix and Vudu) or the 4K Blu-ray player. We hope that our cable company will soon broadcast in 120 HZ which should eliminate the audio/video sound lag.
The sound itself from this TV is ok but not great. My Wife says the the sound is a little "tinny" when set to amplify. Therefore, we purchased the Samsung HW-Q60T Sound Bar which definitely improved the sound quality. If you purchase the Samsung sound bar and connect it to HDMI-Arc you may have to reset the TV in order for it to recognize the sound bar. We learned this the hard way. Also, when resetting the TV, we had to reperform the TV setup all over again.
Overall, we are very happy with our new TV.

The picture quality is fantastic. Sound is weak, so I paired it with an older Samsung 3.1 sound bar, which brings up the bass, but obscures speech. Would like to eventually pair it with a 5.1 sound bar that allows speech enhancement, but that is too much dinero for one shot. Setup depends on the use of a smartphone, but the TV did not pair well with iPhone Bluetooth (really Samsung??! Bluetooth is Bluetooth, but an iPhone would barely stay connected long enough to complete the setup process). Some features such as the picture frame with family photos cannot be set up without a smart phone. Although the TV has 2 USB ports and one is designated for a hard drive, it does not allow you to stream photos from the USB port to the picture frame. It only allows uploading of picture through a smartphone, which is great, if you have a Samsung Galaxy, apparently, but not so great if you have subscribed to the Apple schema. If you want custom music with your picture frame, it has to be live-streamed from your smartphone, meaning if you walk away, your music ends. While in some instances, using a smart phone to stream photos and music is convenient, it is not very effective when you have a lot of photos to xfer, or you want music to continue playing after you walk away. The picture frame concept was a major selling point for me and my wife. We were not excited at having a 55” TV be the focal point of our living room. The ability to have the TV match the room decor and display family photos seemed like a great option. The carefully crafted store demos left the impression that the possibilities would be endless. A single photo displays nicely, full screen, but runs the risk of burn-in if displayed for extended periods (yes even on an LCD). If you have more than 2 or 3 photos, you cannot control how many are displayed at one time. The smart software will randomly grab about 10 photos and use some sort of distribution algorithm to sequentially display ever-shifting groups of photos, every one with degraded resolution because there are so many displayed at once. If there were user controls to specify the maximum number of photos to display at any single time, this issue would not exist. All photos must be stored within the TV’s resources, so you cannot use the picture frame to stream your lifetime of digital memories, you must decide which batch you would like to see, and upload only that batch. It is VERY disappointing to see the abysmal rate at which these photos upload to the TV. The slowness make the feature nearly useless with an iPhone. These issues could easily be addressed, by allowing the use of the network connection or USB drive, but right now, the picture frame aspect is severely crippled vs what you might expect from the store demo.
Would I still buy the TV again? Yes, but don’t count on it beautifying your living space with attractively displayed family photos—it’s just not there yet.

After I did my part of research to find out which TV model is meat my requirement. It was easy to choose a brand for me. Two reasons- I have a bright living room- for this matter Samsung have the top brightness, so it will be no glare. Second one is: I own Samsung before and doesn't have any problem. My choice is new model, 2020 Samsung Q90T.
About this TV set.
Modern design. Stand for this TV set made from metal, heavy (for stability of TV). All inputs located on the back panel: 2 USB port,
4 HDMI ports ( # 4 is 2.1 ),digital audio out, LAN, ANT in.
Most review indicated that you need to do a picture calibration and I agree with that. But before to start a picture setup please check for a software update. I'm glad to choose automatic software update. The latest update adds Filmmaker mode, which I use right now. I did use a calibration disc “ Disney WOW “ to set brightness and contrast. The rest of the setting done by me manually.
Object Tracking Sound uses multiple speakers to match the sound effects and dialog with what you see on screen. Volume level increased when sensor detect a noise ( vacuum cleaner noise for example).
In conclusion:Samsung Q90T model is looking great. Perfect picture quality. Sound is very good, but because I have a soundbar before I got this TV,using it and get even better sound.

Sure, this TV isn’t the cheapest out there but man, is worth the money. I spent several months reviewing tv’s from the cheapest to the ones that were pretty expensive (8K) and this is where I landed. Did curb side pick-up due to the stupid Covid-19...the box was pretty damaged but the tv seemed fine (I could see it through the crushed and torn box), but I could return it if there were any issues. I got home, removed the box (watched an unboxing video and that helped because I knew exactly what to expect) put the stand on plugged everything up, turned it on and immediately fell in love!!! Picture quality, sound, ease of set up, all perfect! I read some reports that said how hard it was to get the right picture contrast, brightness, etc and I can say, a couple minor tweaks and I was done.
Watched The Rise Of Skywalker that night in 4K and was mesmerized at the picture. The next day my kids and I played some of our favorite video games and again, we were not disappointed.
I’ll close with this, just make the plunge and buy Samsung if you’re looking for quality, picture, ease of use, reliability, and an immersive experience.

Really love this TV. The brightness is great. Especially in HDR mode. Colors are fantastic, and contrast ratios are very good as well. Not as great as OLEDs, but I prefer a brighter screen, and OLED's don't get that bright. The smart TV features are really great too. Very responsive and intuitive. The Samsung TV content was a nice surprise as well. I didn't realize that was an included feature. There are various TV stations with a guide and everything that are included for free. Comes with free streamable movies as well. Very happy with this TV! :D

I own an LG OED C9 so I think I have a pretty good idea on what a great picture looks like. My C9is in my basement man which is perfect for a dark environment. So after months of watching you tube reviews and research I made my decision. I was on the fence on the Q80T or the Q90T for my living room which can be somewhat bright. I wanted a television I didn't have to worry about falling asleep in front of at night Yes burn in can happen and I do worry about it with my C9 I went with the Q90T and I am blown away by the brightness, clarity and detail.
The set up was okay. Gone are the days you plug in your television and watch it. You need to set up a Samsung account that they walk you though and then you make some choices for sound and picture settings. Speaking of sound. I have this above my fireplace without a sound bar and the sound is great.
Games looks awesome on it with the PS4. Although I still have a 13 year old Samsung plasma that I use for gaming and a heater in the winter.
Overall, I highly recommend this television if you want the best LED out there right now

We recently purchased the Samsung 55” Class Q90T Series QLED 4K UHD Smart TV and we were beyond excited when we saw the quality of the picture! It looked like characters on the screen were walking right into our living room! The colors are unbelievably brilliant! If you thought your smart TV could not get any better, think again. This TV definitely made believers out of us. The difference in definition is so remarkable, you just have to see it to believe it!
My husband was lobbying for a Samsung model a couple of levels down (to keep the cost lower) but I wanted to go with a higher quality for the best picture and the “anti-glare” factor in this model. After watching it for less than 15 minutes, my husband was thanking me for talking him into the model we purchased!

Can’t go wrong with this tv! It has a Great picture, easy to use apps and My Apple devices sync up perfectly with airplay. We were looking for a tv to replace our 2009 Samsung led tv (which by the way is still working), because we were wanting a tv that had apps available instead of having to use our BluRay player to use apps. I read the previous reviews and I was worried about getting a tv with dead pixels, since this seemed to be the most common complaint. The tv I picked up was good, no dead pixels! What a Great picture this tv has! The sharpness, the color and no motion blur on fast moving objects! Outstanding! The ease of use to navigate through menus and apps is so simple. Would definitely recommend this tv! BTW, this is our 5th Samsung tv that we have purchased over the years and all have been exceptional!

The Q90T offers one of the best Qled TV experiences with excellent color, excellent dimming, great brightness, contrast, and gaming features. It really has it all on paper.
Here are the gripes I have with my experience:
The home menu or hub is loaded with far too many options and advertisements to be useful. Getting into settings requires a handful of clicks which seems much easier on any other TV I’ve used. Not a big deal just annoying.
When you setup the Tv if you opt to use the Samsung app, you for some crazy reason need to set your location to always on for your device. Is that really your business Samsung??? So much so you cannot use the app for setup if you have it set to Only when using this app. The amount of information you’re asked to share is just insane for a TV.
The dealbreaker for me unfortunately is, the borders of this TV have a lightened hue or blueish tint all the way around it. This is extremely noticeable in a dark room while playing a game because you can see the color change through all the onscreen motion.
This isn’t noticeable with most content because the backlight dimming usually is adjusting to different scenes frequently with most content. I believe a good way to test this is put the screen on a light grey background and look at it in the dark. From what I’ve read this may affect all the TVs in the series, you just may not notice it depending on what content you’re watching. Again most Netflix shows have black bars so you would never notice. Full screen games on the other hand with little changes in brightness make it painfully obvious.
Considering this is a $1700 TV for only a 55” this is absolutely unacceptable. Aside from that the picture is stellar, it’s just a shame because I can’t unsee the color change.
Aside from giving up your privacy and a few limbs to afford this, the great picture comes at a very poor value. If you have extra money and don’t care for an entirely perfect Tv with a price tag of $1700 for only 55” that is missing Dolby Vision, this might be for you!

Samsung did a great job this year. It's the first year the released there flagship 4k TV in 55" in the US.
The Black levels are outstanding for a Led Lcd TV. It has 120 Local Dimming Zones, 15 rows across 8 rows up. The HDR Pops of the screen. Also there is no one connect box this year on the 55" Q90T.

New Setup: 2020 Samsung 55” Q90T 4k QLED TV, 2020 Samsung HW-850T 5.1.2 Soundbar, 2017 Sony UBP-X700 4k Blu-Ray Player, 2020 Roku Ultra Streaming box and 2007 Panasonic DMR-E48V VCR / DVD Recorder
Old Setup: 2008 Panasonic 42” TH-42PZ80U 1080p Plasma TV, 2012 Panasonic SC-BTT490 5.1 Blu-Ray Home Theater (replaced 2008 Panasonic SC-BT100 5.1 Blu-Ray Home Theater), 2016 Roku Express Streaming Box and 2007 Panasonic DMR-E48V VCR / DVD Recorder
I am very satisfied with my 55” Samsung Q90T. The picture quality is excellent with very dark blacks, excellent brightness and excellent off angle viewing. The Q Symphony integration with the Samsung HW-850T Soundbar is very nice. Finally, its stand is high enough to allow a soundbar to sit in front of it (unlike say LG OLED TVs). After looking at several other models, I feel the Q90T is currently the best 4k LED TV you can buy.
However, I do have a number of quibbles that prevent me from giving the Q90T five stars:
- Samsung Smart TV’s Disney+ and Apple TV Apps do not currently support Dolby Atmos passthrough to the Samsung HW-850T Soundbar via eARC even though Samsung Smart TV’s Vudu App does. It is not clear when, if ever, Samsung intends to rectify this issue for Disney+ and Apple TV. As a result, to get access to Atmos for Disney+ and Apple TV, I had to purchase a 2020 Roku Ultra Streaming box, which does support Dolby Atmos for Disney+ and Apple TV with passthrough via the Q90T’s eARC HDMI port to the Samsung HW-850T Soundbar. However, I should not have had to do this. Samsung needs to get its act together with Disney+ and Apple TV Dolby Atmos support.
- The Q90T does not support DTS and DTS:X passthrough via its eARC HDMI port to the Samsung HE-850T Soundbar. If you want access to lossless DTS audio or DTS:X, you have to connect your source directly to the Samsung HW-850T Soundbar. It also mens lossless DTS and DTS:X audio does not work with the Q Symphony feature.
- The Q90T, while supporting HDR10+, does not support Dolby Vision. There is very little HDR10+ content coming out relative to what is coming out for Dolby Vision. This said, the standard HDR10 that nearly all 4k source material has, looks excellent on this TV. So, this isn’t a major issue at this time. This said, if you want access to blu-ray discs that do have HDR10+ available, make sure you get a 4k blu-ray player that supports is (such as a Panasonic rather then a Sony or LG).
- There is very minor blooming for subtitles and credits when the Q90T is viewed in a dark room. I consider this to be a negligible issue. However, if it bothers you, you’ll want to look at a OLED TV instead of a LED TV.
- Older HDMI devices, especially those with CEC, may not work with the Q90T. My 2007 Panasonic VCR / DVD Recorder did not work on the Q90T on HDMI. Essentially, it and the Q90T would not talk to each other because the Q90T doesnt support the TV channel synchronization and recoding functions of the VCR / DVD Recorder. I was able to fix the problem by using a Scaler Component to HDMI conversion box. I also view this as a negligible issue as I don’t expect the Q90T to support a 13 year HDMI protocol that is rarely used. However, be aware if you have older CEC HDMI devices, you may need to utilize a workaround like the one I used.
This all said, as I noted at the outset, I am very satisfied with the Q90T and highly recommend it providing none of the above are fatal issues for you.

This replaced a 2016 Sony TV. The picture is excellent when set on "Natural Mode". I did not care for the "Automatic Picture Mode" at all - it was worse that my 2016 Sony, a lot worse. (The Sony picture is very good, just not 4K). But even better than the 4K picture (on "Natural Mode"), is the ease of use. The remote is simple and intuitive, menu's are very easy to access, and the remote just automatically worked with my 4K Apple TV (the Apple TV remote sucks). Yes, Apple TV is built in to the Samsung Q90T, but I found that, on my streaming service (ATT TV Now), the Samsung version of the ATT TV App pauses too many times (to catch up with 4K, I guess, even though it's a wired internet connection). When using my external Apple 4K TV, it does not experience this pause. Of course, if you don't use a streaming TV service, this would not be an issue. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Samsung Q90T.

Have had this tv for 5 days and I’m really blown away by it. 55 inches is huge for the room it’s in and the color and brightness just can’t be beat. The living room gets a lot of light so I needed a bright tv. The combination of the anti reflective coating and the bright back light really help this tv during the day. I also think I won the panel lottery I have no dirty screen effect whatsoever. Playing the switch and the ps5 on this have been absolutely incredible. There is some minor blooming in game mode but nothing over the top and much better than the Sony x900h.
The speakers on this tv are amazing. I was originally going to buy a sound bar but the speakers are so clear and loud I didn’t feel like I needed to.
Overall of you’re looking for a great lcd tv I could confidently recommend the Q90t. It’s a great set and ticks all of the boxes.

Replaced our 10 year old Samsung 46" with this 55" model. Obviously the picture quality is much better and the size difference is minimal. The older model had a picture frame around the screen that increased its viewprint and this model takes the screen right to the edge. The sound quality of the new set is not as good as the old and our old soundbar did not work well with this model. A new soundbar eliminated the issue and we are quite pleased with the end result. Our old remote works the same, but the new remote adds voice recognition, a nice feature for searches.
