Beautiful Pictures and Great Functionality

After a lot of research, I eventually landed on this TV. I've had it for a few years now, and I can still say the picture is beautiful. It's moved with me across several states and survived the move. The software has a lot of built-in tech that helps to keep the screen optimized and prevent things like burn-in. There are probably some better TVs, and there are plenty of worse TVs, but if you're looking for something with great picture quality, decent sound, and is just above a budget TV, this is the one for you!
I took away one star because lately the software has been a little strange. For example, I all of a sudden am unable to add new apps to my home screen and the app store has lost a lot of functionality.

Hey everyone, just wanted to quickly give my impressions on the new Samsung S95B QD-Oled tv I got:
Perfect uniformity, all the way down to 1% grey fields
No color tinting, even on white it is pristine
Input lag numbers provided below with Leo Bodnar 4k tester
The brightness… wow, way brighter than the my G1 oled, way way brighter
The entire image looks more 3d depth than any display I have seen before
Motion is much cleaner than the G1
Zero image retention, tested against the G1, which gets it right away, huge difference here
Anti glare is more effective than the G1
The tv screen feels and looks like glass (apparently the tv has Cornings new gorilla/astra glass) compared the LG oleds that have a plastic feel to the screen
The QD Oled is the best display I have ever seen in my life, especially for gaming. The uniformity is perfect, the brightness is incredible, perfect blacks, motion that is so clear and sharp, no input lag, VRR and the colors… wow.
QD Oled tech is looking to fix all the issue I have with wrgb:
No tinting, even at extreme angles
No vertical banding, even down to 1% grey slides!!
Pixel structure is very tight on QD Oled, not on wrgb
Motion is clearer
The QD Oled is like if you took an qled and combined with and Oled and then gave it better than plasma uniformity and crt depth of image and colors and you get an idea what this display is like.
Displays I currently own so you all can get an idea where I am coming from:
75 Sony Z8H
65 LG G1
55 Samsung S95B
60 Pioneer 600m
In the past I have had:
75 Sony Z9D
55 LG C7
Samsung Q9F
Here are the details for input lag numbers for the Samsung S95B QD Oled tested with the Leo Bodnar 4k lag tester:
Game mode at 4k: 9.4ms on Fastest input lag setting/ 13ms on faster setting/ didn’t bother checking fast setting
Game mode with Game Motion plus turned on at 4k: 13ms with fastest input lag setting
Game mode with Game Motion plus and BFI at 4k 60: 35ms , has less flicker than LG G1 in bfi with fastest input lag setting
PC Mode at 4k : 9.2ms on Fastest input lag setting
Some special notes: You can have Still use medium and High Peak Brightness in Game mode and with Game Motion plus so BFI from a brightness standpoint is possible now, hopefully they can get the lag down in that mode!
PC mode does 4:4:4 and allows you to still use peak brightness medium and high which is amazing and I see no brightness difference over non pc mode and no dimming in either modes with logo dimming off. In PC mode you cannot select Game Motion Plus.
Below I am going answer many questions I have gotten on this tv:
1: No vertical banding at any IRE or any color or panning screens, zero dse on the screen. Watching Hockey is next level on this tv!
2: Viewing angles are as far as you want to go with no tinting, it is something you actually will notice in a good way.
3: I left the screen on for 12hrs straight yesterday and had it playing random 4k game clips at max brightness. The tv screen and back metal backplate was cold to the touch. My LG G1 will eventually get warm doing something like that.
4: No image retention. I was asked to test leaving screens with bright yellow and even over 20-30 mins sitting there, no image retention. These displays are like crt in that regard, very robust image retention compared to wrgb which my LG G1 shows retention after 10-20 seconds. This was done with pixel shifting off and logo dimming off at max brightness and peak brightness at High, also tested at medium and same results, no image retention.
5: VRR works perfectly. There is some flicker on loading and menu screens like Halo Infinite. I have not encountered any other VRR flickering in gameplay.
Issues I have seen on this tv:
1: The pixel shift seems to sometimes revert back to on after turning the tv off and turning it back on. Have to go into the menu to turn on and off again to turn it off.
2: The panels are very thin, mine has a slight warping/bend probably due to shipping. Nothing that is noticable unless really looking for it. So just be careful moving it.
3: There is some VRR flicker in some Halo Infinite menus, have not seen other instance yet.
I hope this information helps

I am not a fan of Samsung products, but I make an exception with this television, I love the quality of the colors, I bought it together with a Samsung sound bar, and the truth is that it gives me the feeling of being in the cinema, If I were to recommend something, it would be to improve the Tizen operating system, since when it is turned on for the first time it is somewhat slow, otherwise I would give this product 5 stars.

We had this TV for a few years now and I have to say it’s a really well made TV. The picture still looks as good as when we first bought it. Only reason it gets 4/5 stars is the lack of 120hz. This TV is now strictly used for watching movies, however it did “ok” for video games capped at 60hz.

I love the colors and clarity of the picture of this model. Excellent viewing. I believe that it was easy to set up. It happened so quickly. Almost as if it took over because I was so slow. Any way it got done in a flash. I have enjoyed poking around with the settings. Thank goodness for the factory reset.

An excellent TV that features incredible picture, great brightness, absurd viewing angles, and shockingly good sound. The design is elegant and with built in cable management solutions. Display is extremely thin but build quality feels and looks good. Would recommend two people present for loading, unloading, and setting up to make things go smoothly.

I really want to love this TV but the glitchy and unresponsive UI is making that very hard. This TV has amazing picture quality and sound, the convoluted and slow interface holds it back, I prefer android TV to samsung's specially since it does not support all apps and its much smoother experience

I am in love with this tv! The only things is I wish I could have afforded a bigger size. I went from a Samsung 46 model (2012) and that tv finally started to go out. After doing research, I decided to go with this one and it definitely makes the Blacks blacker. I am more than pleased with this purchase and plan to keep this for years to come.

The best imperfect TV for gaming

Really amazing TV, but you have to know how to workaround its flaws. The HDR is actually stunning in games, the color volume/brightness is an experience in itself! But if you want impactful HDR with no overblown highlights or raised midtones, you do need to watch setting guides on YouTube to get the most out of the TV.
There's lots of bugs with this TV I experienced, such as dimming/brightening of SDR Game mode for no reason. Only way to stop the near black gamma from adjusting itself was to change input to PC Mode. But another bug was introduced by doing this... colors became oversaturated if I turn off then on the TV. I'm sure there are workarounds but it really frustrated me and I had to return it sadly.
Also, very dark saturated colors tend to get desaturated and turn this grayish green. It's a bit of a problem for QDOLEDs in general, however, some consider it realistic since it's how our eyes work. Me personally, I don't like it very much, but not sure it is a dealbreaker. Resident Evil 8 DLC had a lot of dark reds which turned green and looked ugly imo.
Other than that, what an amazing TV. If you are picky about accuracy and want perfection, do not buy this TV. You will go crazy. But if you just want a bright beautiful picture with the best gaming pictures, it's literally the best TV ever lol.

TV looks incredible. But the operating system is atrocious. No easy way to flip through inputs, have to go thru multiple menus to do so.
Can't schedule maintenance for "screen refresh" it just does it when it feels like it (usually after I've just gotten home from work and turn it on for the first time that day). While it's doing that process the TV can't be used for 15 minutes at a time. If they offered the possibility to "perform when I turn the TV off" or schedule to do during the day when I'm not home, it wouldn't be a problem but they don't. So it is.
Lastly the screen is very difficult to keep clean, the screen is very glossy so the slightest fingerprint is visible and doesn't wipe off with a microfiber it just smudges. Requires a screen cleaner to clean.

We love this TV! Our old TV broke, so we needed a new one. We looked up on Consumer Reports for the best TV in our size range, and this one ranked #1. This is the most we've ever spent on a TV, but thought it was worth it. We purchased one, and after we could not get it to turn on with the remote, and it was turning on and off repeatedly on it's own, we returned it to the store and found out it was defective. We exchanged it for another one, and this one is great. We do love the crispness of the picture...it's the best we've ever owned. Our last TV was a Samsung and we liked it a lot, but this one is above and beyond our other TV by miles. The only negative thing I have to say is about the first one being defective. We normally don't buy any electronics until they've been around for a few years, so they can work the kinks out of it. Hopefully this TV will be a good one, and one that we can enjoy for years to come.

I can finally stop buying LG OLEDs; I've always preferred Samsung, but because of the death of Plasma, I had to switch to OLED. I've bought three LG OLEDs since the plasma's demise; they have all been great TVs, but I needed true colors and blacks, and they gave me what I needed at the time. These were all located in my main viewing areas; I still purchased Samsungs for my bedrooms. I'm glad I stumbled on this TV by accident, I didn't know about it, and the pricing is right on point; it's the best TV on the market. Paired with a B & W Panorama 2 soundbar, my bedroom is now fit for a king and queen. I'm assuming they will make a 70"+ at some point, and I will try and convince my wife somehow to upgrade to the 70"+ for the basement in three years. That is why Samsung is the king of TVs. Samsung OLED welcome home.

While I am not as demanding as some people about the minutia details of HD TV, I must say I am very happy with my new Samsung OLED s95b. I have the 55 inch model that replaced an 11 year old LG 55LW5600 that bit the dust. I was never able to adjust the LG to the warmer picture that I prefer, but that has not been an issue with the Samsung. It was very well packaged and setup was easy after watching a video online. The center mounted stand was a must for me and it was easy to attach by laying the cardboard box it came in on the floor and then using white wrapping on top of it while laying the TV screen side down. Just remember not to take the fine, clear screen protector off before this step. I could have waited for the s95c, but I feel I got the best deal by going ahead and getting the s95b on sale.
The new remote control is also a plus once one becomes familiar with it. Many fewer buttons and the menu is easy to learn. Just a fine TV and I am a satisfied customer.

The picture is amazing but the interface blows and is so confusing and won't connect to our Sonos. That may be a Sonos problem but who knows the interface is still glitchy and lags behind the remote and keeps randomly activating the audio command function on the remote when no one is near it... It is very creepy when we have company over and the tv starts showing our words on screen when I can see the remote on the coffee table and no one is sitting on it. For this much money it should be perfect or at least good, it is confusing and sucks. Like I said the picture is great.

Best QD-OLED TV right now-with a few downsides...

Best QD-OLED right now in terms of what you get. 4K-120HZ-VRR-ALLM QD-OLED. It's neck and neck with the Sony A95K in picture quality. The sound is amazing for a TV. The abundance of connections on the back is great, you can never have to many ports. It's razor thin and the bezels are very minimal which is great. The stand keeps it high enough so you can add almost any soundbar without blocking the screen, can't say the same for the a95k. Remote is minimal and easy to use, but lacks a backlight. It could use a few more shortcuts on the remote as well. Almost perfect with a few downsides. No DTS:X support on the TV or for pass through which makes no sense, big downside for physical media collector's. At least support for DTS:X pass-through so you don't lose q-symphony or features on game consoles. Also the menu UI is slow for a high end TV. There should be no reason for a flagship TV to have such a sluggish menu/setting menu. Usually its quick, but should definitely be improved with updates. It should also be noted this tv was brighter on release. Through updates the max brightness has been reduced in certain modes. Not a big deal for me as it still gets plenty bright, but should still be mentioned. And with oled tech, especially new tech like qd oled you might run into pixel problems. Mine developed a stuck green pixel after 2 months of ownership. Mine isnt too bad as it can only be seen dimly when screen is all black and stays on for a few minutes after shutdown. Very few negatives. If you don't have a physical media collection, don't mind a sometimes sluggish menu, and can deal with potential oled issues or don't mind paying for extended warranty-this TV is still a a great recommendation for anyone looking for a endgame (for now) TV.

Brand response from Samsung

AndresB,
We appreciate your feedback on the response time, and for optimal performance, we ask that you please ensure you've got the latest firmware version installed on your S95B TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
You may also want to further optimize performance with the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees up unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care
In regards to the stuck pixel you've noticed, you may want to run the Pixel Shift function, as this may help resolve this issue. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Panel Care > Pixel Refresh > Start Now or Start After TV off
When using Pixel Shift, please keep in mind the following: - Some of the screen edges may move outside the screen borders and may not be visible. To fix the screen at the home position, turn off Pixel Shift. - To prevent afterimage when viewing content with a lot of static images, turn on Pixel Shift. - Some features, such as voice recognition, do not work during Pixel Refresh.
I hope these tips help you enjoy your new product. You can always contact us for further help at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
