    I bought my first Frame a couple years ago and was so impressed by the features and aesthetic that i bought one for my office. Now I’m thinking i need one for upstairs

    We’ve had this tv for three years. We purchased it because we thought having a flush to the wall tv with art would be a nice addition to our bedroom. First, if you’re thinking of this tv for the bedroom… don’t. The art glows, and you can’t turn off the art unless you use the Samsung remote and hold it down. So it glows, at night. That’s not even the main gripe. The tv often requires us repeatedly trying to turn it on, it just won’t turn on, and then in a maddening twist, the tv turns itself on throughout the day. Yes, at random times when no one is in the room and nowhere near the tv, it turns itself on. This happens while we are asleep too. This tv is a nightmare. The screen is nice, sounds is fine, etc but I’d take a junky regular tv over this nightmare any day of the week.

If your Frame TV automatically turns on when left in Art Mode, it may be due to the SmartThings app, as your TV may still communicate with the SmartThings server even if the TV has been turned off. You can prevent this issue by temporarily removing the TV from the SmartThings app on your connected phone.

      1. On your connected phone, navigate to and open the SmartThings app.
      2. Tap the Devices tab, then tap the Home icon, and then select the location with your TV. Swipe through the rooms to find your TV, and then touch and hold your TV.
      3. Tap Edit, and then tap Remove device. Tap Remove to confirm.
      4. Please make sure you have Auto Updates enabled: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update. When the upcoming firmware update is available and installed on your TV, you can re-add your TV to the SmartThings app.

    This is a 5 star product but I'm docking it one star simply because it has a huge box that requires a wall cavity to hide. The LG TV is simply a TV and can be hung flat to the wall without much drama except for a recessed power plug. But the LG software and other things aren't nearly as good as this TV. This Samsung Frame really can pass for a piece of art on the wall! Even the artificial matting and 3D effects look very real until you examine it closely.

    We have two Frame televisions. A 43” and a 55” and the 55” inch didn’t even last 2 years. I do enjoy the design of the television, but I would always buy an extended warranty with it.

    Not sustainable / Poor quality

    It had a nice image and even nice onboard speakers. The wall art element was super cool It only lasted 18 months (warranty is 12mo) before the panel failed. Not knowing the issue shopped around for a new "one connect" box hoping that was the issue, since they often fail. They are hard to find, specific to a model, and no new ones are being made. Several hundred dollars later l, not the issue. Maybe the special one connect cable? Several people posting online about the smallest bend ruining them. Another hundred dollars, nope. Get the panel looked at, best quote is 1200. The price of the thing in the first place. Poor quality. While the connect box is a cool idea it's impractical wheb there is any issue.

    Good luck when the remote stops working!

    Just a few months after buying this TV the solar remote battery started to quickly deplete and wouldn't take a good charge in any light for any length of time or even with the USB connection. I eventually contacted Samsung and they said, "Reset it and re-pair it". That worked for a minute, but then the problem started again, and the remote wouldn't even reset. I called Samsung, but "after the holidays", which put my TV 11 days out of the warranty period. After 3 escalations, they told me to purchase a new remote. This was the last Samsung product I'll ever buy.

    Picture is great, software is trash

    I love the way this TV displays photos and how it blends into the room. That said, I cannot believe the UX passed Samsung’s internal release process. It is by far the absolute worst, most frustrating software experience I’ve encountered, and trust me I was there when Windows ME launched so I know what bad looks like. The simple act of transferring some of my own photos into the TV using the SmartThings app is a nighmarish experience. On a good day, it connects (but mostly it doesn’t). I have a huge photo library on my iPhone and the app just crumbles. You can tell it was written using non-native app components (the whole thing feels like a web view wrapped in an app). We had a power outage for a week and that was enough for the TV to completely lose all the photos I painfully uplodaed previously. So now I have to start over and I’m not sure I can bear this struggle. What a shame because Samsung had a winning concept only let by down their software department.

      It's unfortunate to hear you're not fully satisfied with The Frame TV. For optimal connectivity and performance, please be sure your TV's firmware is up to date with the most recent version. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      If the SmartThings app is having trouble connecting or discovering your TV, there are a few things you should check:
      1. Check for software updates on your phone and the SmartThings app.

      2. Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Keep in mind that if your phone is using Power saving mode, it may turn off Bluetooth. Bluetooth is always enabled on your TV, so you do not need to worry about checking in TV settings.

      3. Check the device range. The phone should be within 30 feet of the TV. Also, make sure that there are no obstacles, such as walls or electrical equipment, between the devices.

      4. Restart both the phone and TV, then launch the SmartThings app on your phone again.

      5. Open the SmartThings app. On your phone, navigate to and open the SmartThings app. Tap the Devices tab, and then tap Add (the plus sign) in the top right corner.

      6. Tap Add device and then tap the By brand tab. Tap Samsung, tap TV, and then tap Start to follow the instructions to complete setup.

      In addition to the SmartThings app, please know you can also upload your personal photos from an external storage device. Here are the steps:
      1) Connect an external storage device that contains images to the TV.
      2) The external device is automatically recognized, and the screen displays a list of image, music, and video files that are stored in the USB memory. You can also go to Menu > Connected Devices and select the external device.
      3) Navigate to the folder that contains the image file you want to save to the TV, and then select Options > Send to Art Mode.
      4) Select the image and press Send. The image, stored in the external device memory, is saved under Art Mode.

    TV died 3 months after rhe extended warranty ended

    Not worth the money. I purchased the extended warranty. The TV died 3 months after the extended warranty. Had ro pay $124 for geek squad to come out. Then was told it would be 700$ to fix. I was going to pay the 700 and be done with it. Well geek squad came back and the TV was deemed unfixable. Now I have to buy a new TV and buy a diffeent wall mount because the frame wall mount will not work on other TV’s

    Do not buy

    Terrible. First night of install. Hook it all up. Put the mounts up. Power it on and it is stuck in a cycle. Call Samsung support, and they say it's a defective unit, best they could do is a tech would call within two days to schedule an appointment. I'll be returning this tomorrow afternoon. Was planning on buying a few for my work, but absolutely not. Terrible service from Samsung support. Broken product off the shelf.

    Horrible Service both in store and by phone

    The tv is ok, nothing spectacular. Best Buy customer service is horrible. Purchased a $600 bezel for the tv and had a horrible experience picking it up from the Highland Indiana location. Cut up my card afterwards. Further purchases will be made with Grand Appliance and TV. Best Buy Service is horrible

    Geek squad total rip off

    Bought this 55” frame tv and as a total protect member installation was free. When the tech arrived to install the tv and soundbar, they quoted $600 extra to install. Total rip off. Ended up returning the TV.

    Samsung Frame TV stopped working with a busted panel 1 week after warranty expired. Samsung Washer broke a month after that. Just save yourself the time and trouble and go LG.
