Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the 55" Class The Frame QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV's picture quality and Art Mode, with many praising the ease of use and the TV's overall aesthetic appeal when wall-mounted. However, some users expressed frustration with the remote control's intuitiveness and reported occasional software issues. The TV's performance and reliability were also subjects of mixed feedback. While many found the TV to be a great addition to their homes, some experienced technical difficulties.

Great tv to provide access to wide range of art. Non glare screen works. Also provides great picture and sound for tv viewing. Highly recommended.

Pros: It's everything we hoped it would be, looks just like a painting over our fireplace. Blends in flat against the wall. We got one of the custom bezels and love that too. The separate hub for all the inputs is great. Wish all TV's had that. The mounting hardware is nice, easy to install and you can adjust the TV just like a painting if the brackets aren't perfectly level. It's a great design, well worth the extra money for a TV in this size range. It even sounds way better than we expected a TV to sound without a sound bar. The access to nice art collections is fantastic. We now have an endless rotation of awesome art as the focal point of our living room. Cons: We were looking forward to adding our own pics to the rotation. Like our kid's drawings, family pics, etc. You can do that but it's a very glitchy process and short on features. You have to upload pics to it via the "Smart Things" app. It works randomly. Frequent inexplicable connection issues. I've spent a lot of time troubleshooting and researching and it seems to be a widespread issue. Best tip we've tried is to turn off the cell connection on your phone while trying to send pics to The Frame. I'm cautiously optimistic that Samsung will work out the connection bugs. Also would like to see the "art mode" have a little more customization options. One example is you can choose to have a rotation of their curated art OR your own uploaded pics, not both at the same time. Though showing photo slide shows isn't the main use case of The Frame so I can't knock it too hard for not doing that as well as a Google Hub would. It's showing our 8 yr old's art right now and the matte screen makes it look real! Even given these software disappointments I'd definitely buy again, it's great overall.

Pros: The main feature works great. Once you get the settings just right, the art mode looks like art. The profile is as slim as advertised, and the TV looks great on the wall. In TV mode, the picture is bright and pretty clear. Cons: The TV attempts to auto-adjust the brightness in art mode to match the ambient lighting in the room. The TV is not very good at this. I also wished the TV provided more granular control over the brightness level, in order to better simulate an unlit artwork. I've experienced some eARC handoff issues (I'm using an LG soundbar). I've set it to PCM, Auto, and Passthrough. None of the settings work consistently. I used the soundbar with an LG TV previously with no issues. But, eARC function should allow users to sync any eARC-enabled TV with any eARC-enabled soundbar. In TV mode, the picture is hard to calibrate; occasionally, whites look overexposed, a bit washed out and lacking in detail. It's very annoying that the one connect cable isn't rated to be inserted through the wall -- but I'm not sure if that's Samsung's fault, or if there's simply no way to run a power cable through a wall and remain compliant with most state codes. Either way, the result is that you either have to spend a lot of money carving out a big box to put the one connect box into the wall, and run A/V cables to a separate port, or live with the one connect cable running down your wall (I just slapped a plastic cable organizer over it for now). Lastly, the optional bezel accessories are extremely overpriced for what they are.

      KRSFun,

I’m sorry to hear you’re not fully satisfied with The Frame TV’s picture quality. If the image is too dim, please try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions, as these will automatically adjust your picture and may cause your screen to appear brighter or darker than preferred. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > turn off Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting

You may also want to try adjusting image settings to improve your picture. Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
      1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
      2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
      3. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
      4. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also customize the brightness level of your screen between 0 – 50 to your preference. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings

Please also make sure you’ve got the latest firmware version installed on your TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now

I hope these tips help. Should you need further assistance, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

I had no idea this existed until i seen an add on Best Buy. Swapped out our living room TV that's on the fireplace mantel with the frame TV and what a difference, no more eyesore. Also purchased the magnetic light brown frame for around the edges and the Samsung soundbar. Now I can show off different art when the thing isn't being used as a TV - Sweet! *OH, - yes, the picture on it is awesome along with the TV components also.

Love the TV! Great picture and even better can be a cute piece of art when idle. However, buyer beware... 1. you do not need an additional mount, if you want it flat to the wall the stand is included. 2. if you want the cable to be hidden inside the wall you will need to buy that cable separately! the one that accompanies the TV is not fire safe and should not be installed inside the wall... Wish I would have known that.

Absolutely love it for tv and serves as an excellent computer monitor as well. In “game mode” the Samsung frame gave me better picture and experience than the LG A2 oled. The Samsung frame also delivers better looking text (which can be challenging for 4k tv’s to do when used as productivity monitors hooked up to a PC)

Good tv for what it was designed for; room aesthetics and artwork presentation. The picture is good quality but don’t expect OLED or mini LED quality but you would have to be a videophile to notice any difference. All in all, a solid buy if you can get at a discounted price. Be sure to secure professional install with an in-wall media box for the one connect box

I love this TV! The TV was easy to mount and I love the all-in-one box to manage cords. The picture quality is amazing and I love the option for art. I decided to go with the Samsung art subscription and enjoy the different options for artwork. The matte screen is perfect for rooms with several windows - I’ve never had a problem seeing the screen during the day. There’s never a glare from the windows. My only complaint is the price of the extra framing piece if you choose to buy it ($150 to make it look like a picture).

Looks beautiful, love the (albeit pricey) Art Mode but incredibly disappointed in the software and Samsung support. Television continually switches from Art Mode to "Samsung TV Plus" at least daily. This can be loud and quite disruptive, especially if placed in a bedroom. Repeated hours of calls to Samsung support resulted in absolutely nothing. Have been told for months that a "software update is coming," a tech has visited my house, and have even tried to manually update the software with a USB drive, and still nothing. Being woken up by a horror movie is incredibly disturbing. This is a fundamentally defective product and needs a massive overhaul if they wish to continue marketing it. I want my money back. Do not buy.
