Do not waste your time getting this monitor.

If you are thinking of just getting the 4K for it, it is not worth it. You are better off with the OLED model or the ASUS monitor that is 4K and OLED as well.

It took a dump

Defective

Returned, best buy is very difficult to deal with during returns, I was denied a return twice after spending hours on the phone with support. Avoid this monitor and avoid large purchases in this store.

No good with 4090

Immersive!

Once you try gaming on this monitor you won’t ever go back! Sadly, there are only 3 viable graphics cards on the market that can drive this monitor in its full native resolution and refresh rate so i am stuck at 120hz until I can upgrade. Productivity has also shot up tenfold upgrading to this screen! My only major nitpick is it will not auto switch sources even with the setting turned on.

Nvidia users beware! Flickering
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So this was my 2nd unit, 1st had weird popping noises that would not go away. So onto the huge negative! Gsync will cause flickering on this monitor! Im using a 4090 (custom wall mount water cooled loop) samsung was so focused on pushing for amd they failed to include a major feature on the monitors firmware! There is no vrr included on the osd! Only hdmi port 1 (locks 120hz 4k and 1440p as highest option) and display port (60hz 4k or 240hz 1440p) allow you to turn on gsync in the nvida control panel. (Other hdmi ports will not show gsync tab) i have done extensive testing on this monitor. Using the included cables and aftermarket dp 1.4 8k 60 vesa certified and 100 dollar bestbuy hdmi 2.1 8k cables.. in 2020 the launch of the g7 and g9s had this issue and it took 6 months to fix via firmware(adding a special vrr). Vrr is the missing factor. Which they do not have on the monitors osd.. so it will likely be fixed down the road. This is unacceptable though as samsung has had the prior products as a test bench! I do not reccomend buying this now, do your research. Its currently on version 1003 firmware which has not added vrr(also they do not put firmware note changes ) so if your a nvidia user i highly recommend you wait and research when this fix is updated! And turning off gsync is not a problem solver, you will get screen tearing, play cyberpunk you will see tearing on bilboards! Be a smart consumer and dont allow samsung to slip through the cracks without propetly supporting their products

Great for productivity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really massive resolution. My usuage is 90% productivity and 10% gaming. Running only at 120hz due to limits of the 4090 rtx, but its still really smooth and easy on the eyes. Text clarity is excellent. From a gaming standpoint, wow, its been amazing to have the massive field of view, though many games don't support this aspect ratio. In racing games, this monitor has been a game changer. To speak to the meta of samsung reliability, I've had mine running for a about a month now, and zero issues, sees daily use for at least 10hrs a day.

This really needs to be a keyboard-command thing. 2. Timeout requires powering off/then on again to see the signal. I moved my 57 G9 power plug to a lightswitch. 3. Limited high-end input options. I push 3 machines towards it (sometimes 4), each with DP1.2. It can only take 1.

Beware upgrading from dual monitor setups
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor intending to replace my dual monitor setup which ran a PS5/Work computer on one side and a personal computer on another. I'm returning this monitor because it doesn't do this well! There is no VRR or HDR in PBP mode and you can't put one half of the screen in game mode for fast refresh. In PBP mode the PS5 runs at 60hz which, especially for a 2.5k monitor, is disappointing.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy from samsung direct, if you need to return an item they will drag it out over multiple months making excuses. It's been over 2 months and I still haven't been refunded my purchase. No offer to replace the defective monitor, told to file a police report, multiple hours on hold to be told "we're escalating the matter" and told "we'll respond within 3 business days" only to be dismissed. I don't know how to file a police report on something that is not stolen.
