    Funny thing… With a Samsung smart TV, you don’t really need cable service at all! There are so many good, interesting, FRESH channels that I almost forgot I had purchased the streaming service from the cable TV provider! This is an excellent TV and I’m enjoying it. You must have internet to use any smart TV. All you do is plug it into the wall and start watching!

    Great picture, needs more HDMI inputs since it only has 2, smart TV functions are very functionable if you need a smart TV but only lasted 2 years. Prior to this TV, we had a 55" Insignia purchased from Best Buy that only lasted 2 years also. I guess they're all disposable. I'm glad I always purchase the 5 year additional warranty. Did I mention the picture was great?!

    Great picture quality right out of the box. This TV replaced a 46 inch Samsung, which is still flawless after nine years. Samsung is a high quality brand, no doubt.

    I agree with most posters that the sound volume is mediocre. I need to set volume at 85 out of 100 to have a somewhat decent sound. Set up instructions could have been better. Set up froze on step 3, and had to unplug tv for 5 minutes to get it working again. Picture pretty good for an entry level tv. I paired this tv with a Firestick 4k max. I am only streaming with this tv, and the pictures are perfect. The brightness could have been a little bit better for lighted rooms. This model is on par with the TU7000 model, which costs more.

      We appreciate you sharing your experience with the TU690T TV. Your feedback is essential to us and will be shared with our internal teams. I have a few recommendations that may improve your experience.

      To improve your audio experience, there are several volume features you can enable/disable/adjust that may help resolve your issue.

      1. Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume = On.
      2. Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while you are watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.
      3. Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode.

      Also, some sources have their own volume control, which might be set too low. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.

      Next, If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright, you can try adjusting Picture Modes, Contrast, Brightness, or Sharpness settings.

      I recommend using Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic.

      Or you can manually adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and more. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings.

      You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

    The screen does not get bright at all! If I watch during the day, with my interior lights on, I can barely see the screen. I've tried to adjust the BRIGHTNESS setting, but at its brightest, it is still too dim. I had high hopes for this tv since I generally like Samsung products, but I'm pretty disappointed in this.

    Great picture can’t get apple airplay to work and it does not support chrome cast so disappointed my bad

      Hi there,

      Thank you for reaching out and letting us know about the issues you are experiencing with the TU690T when trying to use Apple Airplay and connect the TV to your Chromecast device.

      Please know that you can connect your Chromecast device to the Samsung TV; however, you need an external Chromecast device.

      Regarding Apple Airplay issues, please try the following steps to resolve the connection issue:

      1. Unplug the TV from the wall for 30 seconds.
      2. Restart Router or unplug the ethernet cable and reconnect.
      3. Ensure your Apple device and TV are up to date with the latest Firmware. For your TV, go to Settings> Support> Software Update.
      4. If connected to your TV via Wi-fi, try connecting via ethernet cord instead.
      5. Disable Blue-tooth on your Apple Device. Sometimes this can cause issues when trying to pair the TV to your Apple device.

    I bought this TV a month ago and I really love it. Great sound, the picture is very good and the Samsung TV has free channels as well, so even better. I highly recommend this TV
