The previous TV we had was an Hitachi that lasted us about 8yrs, however, they no longer make TV's. We went in needing education and our salesperson was very thorough in explaining the new technology and showing us the difference in quality. We ultimately went with the Samsung as we didn't want to spend a ton of money but still wanted an upgrade from what we previously had. The only downside is I'm not crazy about the remote as it's small with not a lot of buttons or choices. However, we've linked our universal remote to the TV, so it works out fine for now.

I love it! I had an older Samsung TV I had a lot of trouble with in the beginning. The technicians were out a few times trying to correct the issue and finally had to replace the motherboard. I say that to say Samsung's stood by their warranty and that is one reason why I chose another but a newer and bigger model.
