I bought this on Black friday. What a deal. not even 2 weeks old and it has formed a vertical line. It changes colors based on action on the screen. Usually blue, green, or orange. I probably should have returned it but unpackaging this beast is such a pain and I love it. Samsung said it was a firmware issue until I updated that and found that it was still there. Samsung is sending someone out. I will probably not buy this same TV if they tell me I need to replace the screen. no way it should be doing this already.

Unfortunately, after 14 months, my Samsung UN60KS8000FXZA has shown to have a fading black line down the middle of my TV. This has never happened on previous purchases on LG or Sharp TV's. I am not sure why. One day, I turn on the TV and it simply showed up. This is my first Samsung TV, and I was really excited when I bought it. Not to mention, its the most expensive TV purchase I've ever made. I absolutely love this TV, but not until Is aw this line show up. I was shocked that in 14 mos, i would have to experience this. I am so disappointed. I feel like I have been ripped of. I suppose going forward, I'll have to get extended insurance should I ever buy a Samsung TV again.

This Samsung 8000 series lives up to its pedigree. The 4K picture quality is excellent, and considering the narrow chassis that this TV is built within, the speaker quality is acceptable out of the box. Some of the things to consider when looking at this TV: 1) Not many 4K LED TV's are available in 60". Yes, 55" and 65" are fairly common, but the elusive 60" narrows down your options, and this unit should be on your short list. 2) This is an edge lit display. Thanks to the 'Quantum Dot' technology, you will not experience the blotchy inconsistency in the picture as obviously as you would on similar products. You will still experience this -- after all this isn't OLED or Plasma -- but it will not ruin your viewing enjoyment 3) The connectivity options can leave a bit to be desired. Samsung uses a separate breakout box that hooks to the TV via a proprietary cable to extended the input options on the TV. This seems to be the price you pay for having such a thin TV form factor. 4) The built in wi-fi also is rather lacking, and is better to have a separate device handle your video streaming. Also, it's hard to say if Samsung will be updating the firmware on the unit frequently or if what you see is forever what you get when it comes to the loaded apps on the unit. 5) The TV has plenty of options to fine tune your picture, so long as you have the patience to really dial in your picture. 6) Sound: As I said, it's acceptable but you'll want another solution than what is built into this box 7) The remote is sleek and can control other devices directly, but might fair better to take a back seat to a proper universal remote control 8) The screen has a glossy finish, (almost like a mirror), so keep this in mind if you will be putting your TV in a space that may have to contend with reflections or indirect ambient light, as it will become a distraction. 9) The auto-adjust for back-lighting can get annoying. I found the overall viewing improved when this feature is turned off. 10) The price point really makes this a great choice for your everyday TV.

I was really looking for a 65" TV until I ran across the 60" Samsung UN60KS8000FXZA 4K Ultra HD for about $500 less then the 65's. I couldn't distinguish much difference looking at the 2 sizes side by side to warrant me to open up my wallet for another $500. I've been totally satisfied with my Samsung after coming from a Sony. Setup was so much easier then my previous Sony especially so with the Samsung smart junction box that came with it. Not being too savvay in setting up electronics of any kind, this Samsung was a breeze, for that reason alone I love my Samsung. With my previous Sony I had to enlist the help of the Geek Squad to set it up, not so with this Samsung. The TV has performed flawlessly for the month that I've had it, I am totally 125% satisfied and would buy it again. I easily give this TV a 5-Start rating for picture, sound, and ease of set-up, thank you Samsung for a great product. I also thank the Sandusky Best Buy store as they were fantastic from begining information to loading it in my car.

I have had the KS-8000 for a week. First impression is , out of the box it doesn't have that good of a pic from any sorce. YOU HAVE TO TWEEK THE PICTURE SETTINGS, I recommend going to CNET.com and surching there for this tv review and in that review they provide a link to professional calberation . Now I do use their recommendations for Movies but for DIRECTV I like the Natural mode . Once I got it calberated the way my eyes were pleased I went to uTube and watched so 4K and it was nice but not $1200 nice so again I tweecked the picture this time going with Dynamic mode and HOLLY COW does it look freaking amazing I haven't watched any UDR Blu Rays yet but will in the days to come Great 2.1 surround sound from the 40 watt speakers. Easy for a me to set up and I consider myself above a novice but no expert. TV does a great job of up converting 720p to 1920X1080p The bad, as some pro reviews have stated, it does suffer from "bleeding" white balance. White letters against a black background is the worse I saw there t but you know, it's really wasn't a huge deal for me, no deal breaker. Over all the 8000 is worth the $1100 price point (12/16) but higher then that and I'm not to sure. If I had the extra cash I would have went with a Vizio P series. But so far I'm very happy with my choice.

I had my eyes on this t.v. for some time and on my birthday, my husband and kids bought it for me! BEST GIFT EVER! It's been almost a year and I STILL feel the same. The color is spectacular and the picture quality is outstanding even in standard settings. The volume is all around great. You don't have to turn the volume level up high to hear a normal volume. As far as the setup, the t.v. pretty much does it without much effort from you at all. Overall, the extensive research that I did on this t.v. and others was well worth it! This one won HANDS DOWN!! It's WELL worth the price!

After doing countless research on the web about 4K HDR TVs the KS8000 was the top choice in performance, picture and value. I looked at Sony, LG and Vizio. The Sony with the android TV looked great but the performance of the software is nowhere near my Nvidia Shield TV, LG the only comparable where the OLED and the high end LCD and they were very pricey, the Vizio M series was way too pricy and only has the benefit was better local dimming for watching movies in a dark room. So I got to the Samsung TV set, it has a great design, I love the One connect box because I can hide all of my cables behind something and not have them all hanging behind the TV. 4K and HDR look amazing on this TV and 1080p content looks very good. For gamers this is the TV to get, the input lag is minimal and the colors look amazing. I went with the 60 inch model because it was the perfect size. On the down side my TV does suffer from some light bleeding at the bottom of the screen like a lot of people has pointed out. If you looked closely it will distract you but if you don't care you wont even notice it that's why I took .5 stars of the score. Other that than the software is great and has a lot of apps and they keep adding new ones, I love the remote, I can control all of my devices and the setup was very easy. I highly recommend this TV, it won't break the bank and the picture quality is just amazing.

I shopped around for some time and read a bunch of reviews before I decided on this TV. The design is slim and solid. With HD content, the picture is absolutely stunning! Movies and sports look great. I haven't used it for video games so I can't comment on that. I was surprised how good the sound was on this TV. I mean, it doesn't compare to a good sound bar or home theater audio system but it's very good and has multiple sound settings to choose from. Out of the box you do need to change some of the picture settings to get the optimal picture. I did notice some slight judder on a few cable TV shows but not with movies or sports. The reviews on this TV show that it is judder free so I think I may just need to find the right calibration settings. I think of the LED 4K TVs out there at this time, this is one of the best. To get any better you'll have to spend the money for an OLED set. I am very happy with this TV so far.

Love the sleek look of this TV. I don't think it could be any slimmer. The picture quality is fantastic even though much of what is out there is not SUHD. Some streaming services offer UHD. This TV takes regular HD to the next level. The quantum dot technology really enhances the picture quality. Dark scenes look amazing. This TV also has great sound on its own, and a variety of sound settings such as regular, music, movie, clear voice, etc.. Although the price is higher than most 4k TVs out there, getting it on sale made all the difference.

I replaced a 52" Mitsubishi DLP TV, in good working condition, with this TV. After ten years of near flawless operation, I felt that I deserved to up-grade to the newest technology. I bought this TV when the price dropped to an acceptable level. The many great reviews I read influenced my decision to buy the Samsung 60" 8000 series, 4K UHD TV. I was a little leery of the "one-connect" system--just one more item that could fail. The initial setup went well, but I soon discovered that many of the old (RCA) interconnects were no longer available. There was no Audio Out to connect my wireless headphones to the TV. I still have my VCR to watch family related movies. There is no place to connect the VCR. My 12 year old, 7.2 channel Yamaha receiver does not have HDMI inputs, but it does have toslink optical audio inputs. I listen to the TV sound through my stereo system. The TV sound, from the down-firing , built-in speakers is barely adequate. I did manage to work around some of the connectivity issues. I guess that Samsung, LG and other TV makers, today, assume that you will upgrade all of your audio--video equipment to the latest and greatest. Everything is up and running fine, however, the TV started to "verbalize" commands each time I pressed on the Samsung remote, which was very annoying. I downloaded the manual on-line--a many-paged document that is all but useless. After many frustrating attempts to get rid of these verbalized commands, I finally found the "accessibility" menu and was able to turn these verbal commands OFF. I'm not sure of the need for verbal commands, each time the remote buttons are pressed. Did Samsung think a blind person would be watching this TV? The menu system is way to complicated and I would suggest not delving deeply into them. Bottom line: I have had this TV for just over a month. It is performing beautifully and I am a happy camper. I would recommend this TV to a friend.

I've had this 60" Samsung going on a year now, and have been very happy with its overall design and picture, for it's price range. Its set up was a breeze, and the connections of my other devices went smoothly. There is some brightness in the black, around the edges....but the colors and clarity make up for it. Also, I picked it up up toward the end of it's model year run, which made it very cost-effective. I would buy it again.

I really like the TV so far. I have only had it for a month and the only issue I had was with the you tube app. It stopped working all the sudden for about 15min but then started to work fine again. Not sure why but no problems since then. It takes a little time and research to get the picture how u will like it since everyone is different. That is good and bad. I hate the soap opera affect and u can turn it off!!! It definitely doesn't have the black levels or perfect motion that my older plasma did, but definitely not bad. Colors are good and 4K great!! Sound is good and apps are easy to use. Very thin and looks great on or off. Look it up on Rtings.com.

As a TV exec and director, with deep roots in broadcast engineering, I have to say this is one of the best pictures I've seen to date, short of a $10,000 color critical 4k monitor. As a longtime fan of Samsung I happen to own several of their latest and greatest products, and this one doesn't disappoint. Not only is the picture quality extremely good (it gives the OLED by LG a run for its money), the contrast ratio is amazing and it is viewable from a very wide angle in all lighting conditions. Prior to buying this set, I also looked at last year's model which was not inclusive of the quantum dot display technology. The difference is subtle yet noticeable. Side by side, the latest model was well worth the extra dollars spent for me. The audio is pretty good, but leaves a little bit to be desired- you may want to consider buying a soundbar or better yet having a home theater audio system. Samsung's good about doing product updates via software downloads and adds new features on a fairly regular basis. I found Netflix to be a great source of 4K native content, but you'll need a fast internet connection. And best of all - you could take it on a plane with you and it won't burst into flames!!

I bought this tv during cyber Monday. If takes some time to get the calibrations correct but once you do the colors are amazing. I didn't like the settings from Rtings so I set the tv to my own liking. For the price I paid 1,199 it's a great value. The blacks are bettter than the Sony. However, if your sitting off angle the picture deteriorates. Would recommend!!

Sleek design. Sharp picture. Excellent for gaming as well. The separate "One Connect" box for inputs is ingenious. You don't have to get to the back of your TV for cabling hookups. Smart features are fast and responsive. Even the remote is a sleek little sexy design. *My first TV had pixel damage and Best Buy was wonderful regarding an exchange.

An overall excellent 4k panel with rich colors and blacks that really ties my home theater together. PROs: - Vivid colors and deep blacks. - Nice GUI and remote control everything from my Yamaha receiver to my DirecTV box without issue. - Thin profile and bezel make this unit disappear on my wall. - Got it during 50 yr sale for a great price (1499) CONS: - No physical manual to describe all the features - In depth professional level adjustments may initimidate some users. We love this TV. I do recommend checking out Rtings or Cnet websites for calibrations settings as a starting point.

I researched the 60" options extensively and it came down to this and the LG 60UH7700. Both were on sale with the Samsung $300 more. It's very difficult to review televisions in a store setting. I highly recommend trusting one of the many review sites, and I selected rtings.com. In all sizes, for LED, this is a top rated TV. Setup is very easy and if you follow the recommended picture settings at rtings.com you'll get 90% there. Download the THX app for your final adjustments annd the color will be outstanding. Contrast is great, reds are red (not extreme like others have posted). Integration with my home audio and Harmony remote was simple. Very elegant cabinet but I'm not a fan of the legs. Would rather see a pedestal mount to help hide cables. And the silver trim is a negative as it does add an unnecessary glare in bright rooms. Also, turned off the little Samsung light for the same reason. Buy this set. You won't be sorry.
