Let me start by saying that this is THE best tv that I have ever owned.
I hadn't upgraded my TV since 2008. With the 4k tvs out there now, I figured it was time to finally upgrade and 'get with the times', as they say.
Now, I researched a lot of 4k televisions. I wasn't just going to buy any 4k tv. If I was going to spend the cash, I wanted my money's worth. Through all my research, it seemed that OLED is the way to go with 4k tvs. The downside is that they are very expensive. The cheapest being $3500. I didn't really want to spend that, so I researched some more.
Then Best Buy had a Labor Day sale and I saw this Samsung model on sale. So I did my research and became convinced that this was going to be my new tv (I recommend the review site www.rtings.com. Great site and they seem very knowledgeable). I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. This TV has everything you could want from a 4k. The colors, which are more vibrant and vivid, are amazing. The blacks are deeper, so dark scenes are the way they're supposed to be viewed. Everything looks lifelike! If you are a Netflix subscriber, I suggest upgrading you subscription so you can view their shows (certain ones, not all) in 4k quality. Amazing! They even have a couple nature documentary's in 4k that are just stunning. Even watching normal HD broadcast looks great. It upgrades the picture to near 4k quality.
If you're like me and in the market for a tv upgrade, I suggest this model.

This tv is amazing, the colors alone and upscaling are enough to notice on a day to day let alone the 4k hdr. This has been a fantastic purchase so far.

We are super happy with the picture clarity and brightness and brilliant color of this TV, were deciding between this and a Sony 800 or 900 series and the brilliance of the colors won us over. Easy and fast to set up, easy user interface, amazing picture, the best non-OLED we saw and of course less pricey than OLED, especially with a great Open Box price. We love it so much we got a 49" as well.

I bought this TV to update my Samsung HLT6187s that I have had for nearly eight years. That TV has lasted longer than I have ever imagined, and it still works today, but as expected parts needed to be replaced, and parts for that TV are becoming harder and harder to find.
I decided it was time to get a 4K TV after eyeing them for a few years, but the price range was always a little more than I wanted to spend. I originally had my eye on the LG OLED panels, but after extensive research I discovered the hefty price range ($4000+) wasn't really worth the increase in quality.
I then went back to Samsung, but was almost sold on the Sony Bravia, but again after going home and reading more reviews, more people seemed to prefer the Samsung for gaming (which is about 70% what I planned to use this TV for). The Bravia was nice, but the input lag was rather high compared to the Samsung line. I then decided to go with the Samsung line and while the 9000 series seemed to be a slightly better TV, it just didn't warrant me spending hundreds of dollars extra for such a small jump.
I bit the bullet and bought it one night and had it delivered right in time for week 1 Monday night football. The picture is absolutely stunning. While my HLT6187s still looks good, the picture this produces just seems like a sharper image. This TV is also a lot more streamlined than my other Samsung. I could have used my same 61" stand provided I place the legs on the most inner slots instead of the outside slots, but I wanted to move the old TV to the master bedroom anyway, so I got a nice inexpensive stand. The new stand also said it accommodated up to 61" TV's, but it also holds this TV as well with the legs in the most inner position. The screen however does exceed the width of the stand, but that does not bother me.
With the TV comes many extras such as wireless connection to the internet that allows you to watch youtube, Amazon Video, and other internet sites. One of the coolest things about this TV is the One connect interface in which you plug the input box (included) into the back of the TV, and you can move that box anywhere in your setup to connect your components. This reduces wire clutter tremendously.
Sound is okay, but I don't use it, since I run everything to my A/V receiver.
My only complaint so far is that sometimes when you turn to a channel for the first time there appears to be some horizontal banding that run's down the screen as the TV is trying to catch up on the video, but that goes away only after few seconds.
All in all a great purchase for a great price. In fact my wife was bugging me to get new furniture as well and I was able to buy this TV and a new couch and love seat all for the same price I almost paid for the LG OLED.
I use this mostly for gaming, watching sports, and some TV shows and to me its possibly the best bang for the buck for TV's under $2500.
.It doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the much more expensive models, but I would absolutely recommend this as a mid range TV.

First I would like to address the customer support for Best Buy that is available via phone. In a word it is obstructive: I bought my TV from Natomas even though I live in Auburn because I wanted the savings of buying an open box. While I attempted to reach the Natomas store several times before the purchase and after (parts and manual were missing, even though it was geek certified), the centralized phone support would NOT connect me with the Natomas staff. That said the staff inside the store could not have been better.
The Samsung Smart TV series 8000 is everything you read in the reviews: Ultra High Definition resolution, exceptional color, superior brightness and contrast, and speed are very impressive. Additionally the ‘one connect box’ that organizes all inputs within the TV’s Smart control is outstanding. Via the very simple remote I can choose between my satellite provider, Amazon and Netflix (internal, with loads of 4K content), my DVD, YouTube (also with 4K content), PLEX, a program that runs my iTunes library from my desktop computer, and a laptop that runs FreeTelly. Because both Amazon and Netflix are internal apps of the Smart TV, when a search is performed the TV will look at live TV, VOD, DVR and Amazon and Netflix.
While my wife is not “computer savvy”, this unified source input and use of Samsung’s simple remote was easy for her to master. I would highly recommend this product.

I research a bunch of tv's before I finally bought this one. I originally went with an LG at Sam's but then return it to get this TV. Amazing picture and sound. Set up was easy and everything about this tv was great. Love the thin look on it. And love that you can put the legs in more so if you have a short entertainment center, it will fit on it. Would definitely recommend this tv

First and foremost I have to let my bias be known. I'm a diehard Samsung fan as it's the only brand TV I'll look at. So when it came time for a new living room TV this is where I started and needed. The Samsung 8000 or 8500 depending if you like curved or not is an exceptional TV, the picture is phenomenal, setup couldn't have been easier, and now that they have a separate block for the inputs (that's upgradeable when new tech come out) you really can't go wrong. I use the TV in my living room like I said, viewing distance for me varies from 12-15ft and this TV is the perfect size. I also don't have a sound-bar but have no issues with sound at all, it has plenty of HDMI ports for my counsels and other components but you can always have more. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the remote that it came with, but after a day of playing with it.......I LOVE IT! It's sooo simple and yet so easy to use once you get the hang of it. I almost prefer it more than my cable remote. All in all this TV is amazing! A little pricey.....but amazing!

Very happy with this purchase. Was looking for a good quality 4K television and I'm not into high end audio/video so wasn't looking to spend 3 or 4 thousand for a TV. The TV is being used in a room with lots of natural sunlight that i can't easily block out. Needed a TV that was bright during the day but wouldn't blind us at night. The Samsung UN65KS8000 so far has been exactly what we were looking for. Great picture with DirecTV and Netflix. Viewed a few 4K shows on Netflix and they look great. Been watching NBA and NFL on the weekends and have not seen any motion blur. As far as lighting the picture is bright and clear during the day. At night it dims and is comfortable for viewing a dark room. Sound is pretty decent straight from the TV but we use it with a soundbar. Really easy to get to smart apps like Netflix and super easy to throw up content from your smart device. The remote is pretty easy to use however i prefer my logitech remote so can't say much about the samsung remote. TV is really thin for the size and i especially like the look of the thin bezel, gives an end to end feeling to the picture. The lit samsung logo at the bottom looks nice but can be a bit distracting at night. I've only had the TV about a month but so far extremely happy with the TV and the price i paid for it.

First: those who belittle 4K are wrong. There is significant difference between 4K pictures, especially with HDR, and the regular HD, 720 or 1080. I'm very happy with this TV. OK may be an OLED model has deeper blacks etc. but for what I paid for this 65 inch TV, I cannot be happier. I get to watch many 4K shows from Netflix and Amazon Prime straight from my TV.

This tv has the best picture I have ever seen. I was comparing it to displays in the store that were $5,000+ and saw no discernible difference. It is connected to an Xbox one s and the tv supports all of the 4K and HDR features of the console and at every refresh rate. The remote is nice, and the software for apps works well. I am happy with this purchase.

I bought this UN65KS8000 model because it has extremely low lag and low motion blur for doing 4K gaming. What's really great about it is that because the bezels are so incredibly small the overall size of this 65" is only 1/2" larger than my 58" plasma.
The colors on it are really fantastic and watching shows in 4K is really quite stunning.
Surprisingly, the interface of the apps is extremely easy to use and this model supports using bluetooth headphones as speakers so you can watch/game at night without waking up your family.
I'd definitely recommend this TV to anyone. The only annoying thing with it thus far is that you have to use the "return" button to exit out of Hulu every now and then as Hulu has a server key that doesn't get appropriately refreshed and it will come up saying that you have to close it and start it again. There's no fast way of closing it so you have to return return return a few times and then start it again.

Chose the 2016 (KS series) over the 2017 (MU series) model. To me this had an even better picture than the new ones, minus the $3,000 more QLEDs. I prefer Samsungs sharp picture look. This has a GREAT picture, easy set up, and sleek outline. The low price doesn't hut either. This replaced my 11 year old 61" Samsung DLP rear projection. Love it!

We had been researching a lot on the best tv which would meet our specific requirements like price, picture quality, 4k upscaling and this one exceeded our expectations. Set up was a breeze and the tv was able to detect our cox cable box without any issues. Remote was a plus and helps control almost all our devices. Worth the price.

We love this TV. The interface and remote, which is weird at first, are great. Well worth the money spent and the picture is amazing provided you watch 4K/UHD content. Don't forget to upgrade your online streaming services such as Netflix to access their 4K/UHD content. Also, this TV is super thin and is nearly frame-less.

Awesome TV. Easy set up and calibration. Just check forums and rtings.Com. Was between the Vizio p series and this one. Happy with my choice. Great remote, interface, and apps. Entry level HDR but I am really happy with it, and very satisfied with the TV overall. I run sound through an onkyo receiver so can't review that.

Don't know where to start! This TV is amazing! Blacks are VERY good and are as close I have seen to the LG OLED. Picture quality is superb. The design of the TV is nice to look at as it has almost no bezel. Samsung did an amazing job with this TV. The faster refresh rate provides a great picture. The colors and 4K look amazing. It's very thin and sleek. The built in technology is very easy to use. It also comes with a single plug adapter that allows you to easily hide cords and only need to plug one cord in when hanging. I'm very happy with the purchase.
