I was pretty satisfied with last year's Samsung KS9000, so when the new QLED models were shown at CES I was only mildly impressed. However, as I read more and more about the basis of the technology in the new panels, I became intrigued and subsequently decided to give the new Q Series a try. After spending some time with the Q9, I must say I am glad I took the plunge...I expected an excellent picture, and the Q9 does not disappoint. It is even brighter in both SDR and HDR modes than last year's model, but the subtle tweaks to the operating system and hardware make the new model worthy of the hype surrounding it. Upscaling of HD signals is excellent, with even broadcast TV signals looking almost as good as Blu-Ray. And, speaking of broadcast TV, I think it's brilliant that when you first turn the set on and connect your antenna, the TV scans for channels in the background while you go about setting up other parameters. If you normally view from off-center, you will be pleased with the Q9...colors are true and shadow detail impressive when viewing from all but the most extreme angles. Niceties such as being able to send Dolby Digital Plus audio from sources connected to the OCB to an AV receiver make this a very desirable display for those with higher-end audio systems. And the ultra-thin fiber optic One Connect cable is incredible...this innovation gives you dozens of options for where to place the TV.

Looked great on the wall...when off. I returned this TV after about 4 days due to the quality being worse than my 3 year old LED Sony. Went with the LG OLED and happy now.

While the Black Friday sales at end of last year were quite tempting, decided to wait and get a look at the 2017 model year updates. Following CES, went through almost every review available online. Waiting game was on until late March when shipments arrived in stores. It took a trip across town to see a 55 inch -- sitting quietly at the end of an aisle and lacked any significant marking to call attention. Spent time watching the demo, looked at 2016 models back & forth... Considered the OLED option too. Again, reading reviews and getting time in front of the screens (in both regular store environments and the Magnolia low ambient light rooms). In a perfect world you'd get to see several screens side-by-side in low ambient. The Q9F replaced a greater than ten year old 1080i screen. Unbox & setup were easy tasks. Samsung does a good job with Quick Setup guides. Plugged in and hit remote... the demo track fires up. Pretty amazing, to the point where you find yourself watching it vs continuing with the onscreen setup. The Q9F (65in) delivers a vibrant color rich detail packed environment that does not disappoint. It hits the bright lights and stunning fades to black (courtesy of Netflix). The viewing experience tends to pull you in with dimensions of color throughout your content selections. Local News to NetFlix the onscreen image delivers. The Off-Angle viewing is amazing - like a room away greater than 30 degrees 'Off' amazing. Color-volume capabilities will continue to stun & amaze...

Best TV Ever! Blew me away!

Before upgrading to the 65in Q95, I had an older Samsung TV, about 55in with big bezels too. It was from around 2006 or so. Size-wise, the 65 inch QLED was actually about the same size as the older 55 inch TV because of the bezel on the old TV. From there though, the QLED Q9F is such a huge upgrade from that older Samsung TV. Immediately I could see a huge difference in the brightness vs the older LCD display. The colors were so vibrant too and being my first 4K TV, the images were so crisp and clear, even the setup screen was so amazing! Not only does everything look so much clearer in 4K, but the motion refresh rate on this TV is really good too. Everything just seems so fluid versus the old TV. I've seen display models if the QLED series at Best Buy before and it definitely looked really good compared to other brands they had on display, but actually having it in person at home made a huge difference and it I just couldn't believe how amazing the image quality is even for non 4K content. Another really good and important improvement for me though was the speakers. The old Samsung TV had pretty mediocre speakers and a lot of the time, I had trouble hearing dialog, especially when there's a lot of sound effects or music going on I'm the scene. The sound bar we have doesn't really improve that much either. But now with this TV, the speakers are actually really good and I can hear the dialog very clearly again! In fact, the speakers actually outperform the sound bar and has pretty much made the sound bar obsolete. This is probably the most important improvement to me on a personal level. Another small but really cool feature is the voice commands on the remote. It recognizes commands very well and very naturally too. In fact, it works so well that my dad, who has a pretty thick accent, can use the voice commands very easily and accurately. Most of the times, other voice command systems like the Amazon Echo or Cortana cannot recognize most lf his commands because of his accent, but the remote for this TV actually got his commands right 100% of the time so far. Overall, I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a great 4K TV. It's got a lot of other really great features that all add up to make what I believe is currently the best TV you can possibly get on the market!

For the last few years, Samsung has really pushed it's way forward with innovative screen technology. Be it, the design and shape (curved), or it's vibrancy (QLED), it has year over year brought something for customers to drool over. I am happy to report that the QLED does not disappoint. This TV, is by far, one of the brighest and vibrant TVs I have ever seen in my life. Even compared to last years flagship, the KS9800, the Q9F is able to push itself into a peak brightness that is absolutely insane for an edge lit panel. You would think with something this bright that colors and blacks suffer, however, I am also happy to report that colors are actually richer than ever, at times truthfully looking three dimensional. Blacks are able to stay as inky as ever so the image is truly contrasted in ways never seen before. I'll also quickly note that this TV does an insane job at upscaling. Even 1080i images that come through OTA antennas look simply amazing! Switching gears, the design of the TV is also something to marvel. Despite owning the KS9800 which is curved I've never found the appeal of it. With the Q9 being flat it allows Samsung to really shine with how it can push borderless, bezeless designs. Coupled with the no gap wall mount, this thing is absolutely breathtaking to look at on the wall. The smart connect is just as amazing as ever, by eliminating the need for a harmony remote. Just plug in the device, and Samsung literally does the rest. It's truthfully a feature that is hard to explain but beyond appreciated when seen and used in action. Coupled with the amazing 'simplified' remote, this device really feels like a 2017 premium product. I will call out that I believe there is a FW issue that causes odd color banding at times. I've noticed that this is resolved by a simple power cycle (unplug). Samsung has been good at addressing issues with their KS models, so I expect this to be addressed soon. Overall, this TV is an absolute beast. Despite it not being FALD, this TV simply shows that with the right technology less truly is more. It has exceeded all my expectations, and even has my girlfriend wanting to watch more TV just to use the TV more.

If I wrote a review right after I got the TV I would have said the picture is amazing, which it is. But now having the TV for 10 weeks, it broke. Now I’m dealing with customer service and this often tells me what type of company it really is. The TV just started turning off and on by itself. It was to the point where it would turn off then back on every minute. So I contacted their customer service, which appears helpful on the surface, but in fact they were horrible. After the 4th call the tech stated if was the one box that was the problem and they would send out a new one, which would take up to 10 days. After 7 days I called to make sure the product was in the mail and was told it was and if it didnt appear in 4 days to call back. When it didnt appear I called back and was told it was never sent because they needed a copy of the receipt..What, the first guy didnt know this? So I sent them a copy of the receipt and it took another week to receive the new one box. I installed the new box and still have the exact same problem with the TV and therefore it is not the one box. I called back and then they sent a tech to my house, which took another 5 days. The tech arrived and he’s unable to fix the tv. Instead of replacing the tv they just were going to replace one part but now they have to return and replace several of the parts. So again im without the TV. My last 2 were Sony and they both lasted for years. They actually didnt break I just upgraded..I thought this was an upgrade but if I could do it over I would never have purchased this TV.
