      Hi LowVolume88,

      Thank you for sharing your experience with low volume. There are several volume features you can adjust that may help resolve your issue.

      1. Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input.
      2. Adaptive Volume automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source.
      3. Several Sound Modes are available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode.

      Also, some sources have their own volume control, which might be too low. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.

    Black screen issue

    Right after the return period ended the screen went black. I can turn the TV off and on but no picture shows on the screen. Even tried casting from my phone, just a black screen with volume.

      Hi JohannP,

      I'm sorry that you are having display issues with your TU7000 TV. Please know that we are here to help.

      If your TV has a black screen even when it's on, it's quite possible it could actually be your external device and not your TV. Please try these troubleshooting steps for your blank screen issue:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.

      If the menu appears, the TV is powered on but is either not on the correct source or not receiving a signal.
      If the menu does not appear, the TV may be having power issues.

      Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. In normal use, the red standby light is on when the TV is off (indicating the TV is on standby), and the red standby light is off when the TV is in use (or doesn't have power).

      2. Confirm that the TV is set to the same source as the external device.

      For instance, if your cable box is connected to HDMI 1, set the TV source to HDMI 1.

      If the TV is set to the correct source, but there is still no image, unplug and reconnect the AV connections one cable at a time from both ends of each cable. If there's any damage to the cable, it will need to be replaced.

      After reconnecting the external device, please turn it off and back on.

      3. Test the HDMI cable.

      Some TVs have an HDMI cable test. Some models only have this test after a software update, and older models do not. If your model does not have this test or is not connected by HDMI, skip to the next step.

      The test is designed for HDMI cords less than 6 feet long and may not give accurate results on longer cords.
      To perform the test, make sure the TV's source is still on the HDMI setting for the cable you want to test, and then navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test.

      If the test says the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required.

      4. Test different external devices.

      The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting a different device or using a different source port.

      If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it.

    Overall, a great value tv! At this price point, the features, size, and quality of this tv are a winning combination for anyone who is looking to upgrade or add a tv to their home. The picture quality is excellent, and really shines when watching in high quality; even just HD. Shows produced with very low-lighting are still clear and apparent, without having to adjust the brightness setting. The options to adjust the pictures settings are perfect for either those who prefer preset options or those, like myself, who want to tweak it to their liking. Last, a common nuisance with a lot of tvs is glare from lights in the house or sunlight, and with this tv installed in the same exact location as my previous tv, I have not noticed this to be a problem. In addition to the visual quality I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the sound quality of the speakers. I already had planned to continue using my sound bar with this tv, and still chose to do so, but I think many people will find that a sound bar isn’t necessary to have with this tv. This tv also has a lot of features and options. One of these additional features is the Samsung TV which offers an abundance of free channels. Most of these channels are generic with unheard of shows, but some are pretty good. My only complaint is with the app and its functionality. It’s slow to load and oftentimes doesn’t work. Apparently this is something Samsung is working on. As for ease of use and initial set up, when the tv is first turned on, it basically walks you through the set up. The only issue I had was with uploading the new firmware for the tv. I first attempted to do so through the tv itself, and it showed that there were no updates available. After testing out the tv, and experiencing issues that this firmware update corrects, I realized that the tv was still missing the update. I finally went to the Samsung website and online manual (which is MUCH more detailed that the user manual in the box) to find out how to update through an usb device. The website had the link to firmware download which was a fairly large file (over 1GB). (This could be why the tv wouldn’t update through its own connection.) After downloading the file on my computer and saving it to the jump drive, the rest of the process went smoothly. With the firmware updated, any issues I had originally experienced prior to the update were gone / fixed. Last, the tv operates fairly smoothly, some apps are quicker than others, but overall the speed of the tv is fairly comparable to a computer or gaming system setup. I am very impressed with the amount of features this tv has, and think its overall value is superb.
