Great TV, quality and price!

One we paid $1,500 for and the other only $300. Well, the cheap one that we kept down in the family room finally died this year. We had been wanting to get a larger TV up in our living room for a while anyway so this was perfect timing. We originally bought a 65" Sceptre Android TV. But it was lost in transit and never arrived. We took this as a sign and decided to spend just a little more and get a better quality TV. We decided on this 65" 4k Crystal UHD Samsung. Setup was easy. We really love the picture, the sound is great. We did buy a soundbar but that's only because the husband said we couldn't live without it (that's not true). While I love that the remote that came with it can control my cable box. I just wish that the buttons lit up or something. And it would be great if I could remove some of the pre-installed apps that I'll never use. But I just moved them to the end so that's fine. When we first set it up I honestly thought it was too big, much larger than I expected. But now that we've had it for a bit I think we probably could have gone bigger maybe 75" or 85". Maybe in another 10 years

A few initial hiccups

The smart-phone remote app isn't very easy to use. The app for Apple TV is much easier and more responsive, so we'll keep using Apple TV for Netflix, Hulu, etc. On the 2nd day, we started experiencing some image delay and some of the colors were messed up. I tried multiple different inputs (cable box, Apple TV) and the colors were still funky. I then tried a feed over wifi to make sure it wasn't the HDMI cable, and colors were still bad. I ended up doing a reset on the tv and colors were back to normal (and no more lag). Hopefully it's good from this point on...I'd hate to have to continuously reset it.

It’s very pretty and responsive to inputs when flicking through the few times I’ve done it.

So I knew I wanted exactly the same when I went bigger. The picture quality does not disappoint. I can finally see all the minutia I was missing in movies. My biggest complaint is the sound. It feels as if the smaller version had better sound. I can have it all the way up and still have difficulty in hearing some things. I’m going to see if a sound bar will help with that. But overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and intend to stick with Samsung TVs.

The wide color gamut and good peak brightness make highlights in HDR content pop, and the low input lag and FreeSync support are sure to please most gamers. Viewing angles do suffer a bit, but that's to be expected. It performs well in both dark and bright rooms, as the TV is capable of displaying deep, uniform blacks, and has very good reflection handling. Overall, it's a great TV for any use.
