Not as good as I expected

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 55" curved Samsung TV prior to owning this unit that had a problem with the screen after 4-1/2 years (just out of warranty!) that would cost more to fix than the TV was worth. So, I reluctantly purchased this 65" 7 Series Samsung. I am a cord cutter and use this TV mostly for Over the Air reception but some on-line streaming. Several things make me think that they have removed features to reduce the cost and quality of their newer models. First, the most irritating thing is the remote control. My previous Samsung had an RF remote that did not have to be pointed directly at the TV and had a mouse pointer type function that was very handy to use. This one is back using old IR/Infra Red technology that you have to point it at the TV. Another problem with the remote is that it always wants to change the volume up or down multiple levels. Very hard to get it to change the volume only one step unless you push the button very very quickly. This TV has the same problem when changing channels... jumps up or down multiple channels unless you press the channel button very quickly... and sometimes that doesn't work. It seems all functions of the remote have this same issue even when going through menus etc. Another issue is the on screen channel display... it shows the channel you are watching plus the next lower channel below it and the next upper channel above it on the right side of the screen. The size of the text/font for the current channel is much smaller than the lower or upper channel's font. In my opinion it should be larger than the other two... easier to see etc. Another issue I find frustrating is when you are using the Guide function you press the DOWN button to go UP channels... when you press the Channel button UP the Channel goes UP. This is my 4th Samsung TV and have been less satisfied with this brand the newer the TV's are. Come on Samsung... give us back the great TV's you used to make. I will not buy another if I have trouble with this one.

Great TV

I really was not looking to buy a new TV but when I saw this one on sale with free delivery I could not pass up the deal I figured I would just keep it in case my old one went. Well I couldn't wait took the old one down and put the new one up and glad I did what a great picture very happy with this TV just hope it lasts as long as my old one
