Hard to adjust picture

I had to buy an Optical to RCA converter to use my Sennheiser wireless headphones. The converter also has an Aux output for my soundbar. This good because the soundbar has an audio delay when connected with Bluetooth. Second- The default picture is standard which is so dark the picture is unusable. None of the other options like dynamic were usable either so I had to pick a setting ( I used MOVIE) and go to advanced settings and manually set contrast,brightness, etc to get a decent picture. That is not good. The default picture should be good on startup.
