Purchased the 65" RU8000 after returning the 75" TU7000 (STAY AWAY) but the RU is by far the best quality picture I've seen on a sub $1k TV ($819) and seriously competes with the Q70. Have 120hz refresh with 240hz motion, you will be amazed at what you're seeing! I did a few tweaks in the settings to get the back lighting to my liking. Don't let the couple of 1-2 star reviews throw you off...I'm guessing these folks aren't quite proficient in playing with settings. Straight out of the box is great but gets so much better! Not sure why Samsung would discontinue this model (2019) and replace with a substandard model...guessing to push the Q series on you! You have to step up to the Q70 to get 120hz/240hz and will be quite a bit more expensive. Save yourself some money and buy the RU8000 whiles supplies last!!

I did a lot of research before buying this TV, in regards to input lag for my PS4. It's very low input lag, like less than 22ms...plus it has an automatic game mode that drops the latency slightly more. I had a Sony kdx 50in before and this Samsung makes it look like a toddler in terms of hdr and latency.

This replaced a 10+ year old LCD that had no internet capabilities. We purchased a 55” Samsung smart tv a few months prior for the master bedroom and we’re pleased with it. This one is a year newer model. Great picture quality. Easy to navigate menus and apps. The remote couldn’t be more simple to use. The only issue thus far is we were not able to adapt the remote to our surround system. It’s an older system, so it’s understandable, but we have to have two remotes now.

Overall this is a great TV with a beautiful picture. Love the ease of the Samsung remote & smart TV layout. My only complaint is the ghost that cuts it back on sometimes after you cut it off lol. Not enough to deduct a star, just odd!

4.5/5 (Review system didn't allow X.5 stars) The visuals are great. The extras (apps, free internet channels, etc) are useful. We use several of the apps and have enjoyed some of the free internet channels. Easy to use apps, change settings, and a nice channel guide even when using Antennae. Love the one touch buttons on the remote to open Netflix, etc. Would be nice if one of those "one touch" buttons could be mappable to what we want. But I guess the one button apps are the apps most people use most. Only grips: We didn't have a Samsung sound bar so we had to use two remotes which was annoying (it was an old sound bar which we have since updated to a Samsung sound bar so only 1 remote is now needed). Once in a while the TV will turn right back on after turning it off. Only happens within the first few seconds of turning off. Was told that something its hooked to is kicking it back on. Minor annoyances.

My older 50" TV had sound issues so my older son and I went to Best Buy. I had already decided that this time I was getting a bigger TV and sound board as I have to watch TV from more than halfway across the room. The sales guy who helped us was knowledgeable, patient and answered all my questions along with giving me the pros and cons of each when I asked. I decided on the Samsung 65" ULTRA and a Samsung sounder. This was the best purchase I have made in a long time! It was a breeze to hook up and within 10 minutes, using my iPhone, WiFi and Bluetooth the Smart TV had connected all my components and accessed my Netflix, Roku, Prime and DirectTV subscriptions. This Smart TV also allowed me to access YouTube and internet through WiFi. Amazing! Easy Peasy! And... I love the quality picture, color and sound! It sounds like I'm at the movie theater. It's awesome! Love Samsung - they never disappoint!

I've been brand loyal to Samsung since the beginning of flat screen TVs. With that being said, all of my previous televisions have weird quirks about them. This is the first one that actually does what I would like it to do and more. No more need for separate remotes for surround sound, cable, etc. This remote can switch between and control them all. The smartthings app actually works as well. I can't go into too much detail about quality, because all new tv's look good to me, but I do notice the difference between this 8 series and my older 6 series for sure. This one also is so much faster with loading Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, etc and going between them without freezing up/experiencing glitches. Nothing but good things to say about this one. If you're deciding between series, definitely go with the 8. Even if it means sacrificing some inches off the screen size to make it affordable.

The TV was pretty easy to set up. The only problem we had was trying to connect to a computer. The remote is simple and easy to use. The factory settings were not right for our viewing, but it was easy to adjust. Sound has better quality than the 2 years older Samsung TV we have in another room. The new Samsung easily connection to the Bluetooth speaker.

This TV is everything I hoped it would be. The 120hz refresh rate makes for a clearer picture during fast motion segments of what I am viewing. Much less blur or pixelation during fast moving scenes. I'm sure I will like this when college football restarts. This was an open box buy & the price I paid was kickin'!!! The website made it difficult to tell if my local store actually had this open box item in stock. I made the purchase online only to later get an email stating the transaction was cancelled because the system said at the time of transaction the unit was not available. This happened a 2nd time after I tried again just for Sh%ts & Giggles. Since I was trying to make this purchase after store hours I was unable to call my local store to sort this problem out. The next morning I reached out to the store & learned they did indeed have it in stock. It would be nice if Best Buy could get there inventory system discrepancies worked out to provide accurate info to the BUYING public. I'll bet they have at least 1 Geek Squad member on staff who could fix this for them who makes much less in salary than the ones who are not providing the deserved on-line experience.

This tv is a killer deal. I was looking for a fast tv with good picture quality. I am coming from a Sony Bravia so I was a little spoiled and thought I was going to have to spend Bravia money to get a good tv. Boy was I wrong this tv popped up for sale at a $300.00 off list price. I used a web site called ratings.com for my research and found that this tv was a steal it comes with 120Hz native, 4 HDMI inputs which the tv will read and tell you what each input, it has a super low input lag of 5.9 ms at 1080p and 120Hz. It has a nice thin trim around the outside of the screen and the legs give it a modern look. If your looking for a tv to watch movies or to play some Xbox this tv will outperform no doubt.

Recently our family room 60" 4K Smart TV suddenly gave up working. Of course the extended warranty had also ended a few months before. We embarked on a mission to replace the TV with like features (i.e., 4K, 2160p, Smart and 240 refresh rate) plus it had to fit our TV cabinet. After much research we found this T Samsung TV which met all our requirements plus added five more inches to the screen size. The picture is outstanding and fits the cabinet perfectly. The Smart features work much better than the features on our previous TV. Loved the way we were able to purchase and set store pickup online saving much running around.

I've owned the 65" model for quite sometime now and have spent plenty of time testing out this TV's capabilities with everything from DVD vs Blu-ray vs 4k UHD to gaming and streaming with 24p, 30p, and 60p content. The best things I can tell you about this model (RU8000) is that game mode does in fact work excellent and the lower input lag is noticeable especially if you play online with fps games like I do. However with game mode enabled you will be making a big sacrifice to the picture quality as the resolution gets greatly reduced to achieve this. Personally this not a big deal to me because when I play online the graphics have never looked as supreme as the offline content anyway. Additionally you turn off game mode during offline playing if you want and it will work just fine. Another great thing about this set is its ability to view 60p content. I'm a film collector and most film purists will tell you leave it running at 24p However I say to each their own. I prefer watching films in 60p as the picture seems to provide more depth between foreground and background images. In essence objects such as trees, buildings, peoples facial images etc. Will have a more volume or dimension and this in turn creates a more Immersive picture. I have no issues running both blu-rays and 4k films at 60p...for the most part. There have been a few occasions where I had an older film such as Thor (Blu-ray) where I had to turn this back down to 24p as the 60p higher frame rate caused the CG to look too artificial/cartoonish to me. Additionally if your streaming, most content should look fine in 60p but if you find a movie looking particularly odd you may need to drop it down to 30p or 24p. SO, everything is great from this TV in my opinion up until this point, 4K UHD HDR. As some have stated before the LEDS on this TV DO NOT get very bright. Now this is important factor, a very important factor as this is a major factor whe utilizing the HDR component of 4k HDR films. Matter of fact, I would argue, the TV's ability to produce HDR imagery is far more important than the sharper 4k resolution itself. HDR is THE component that is going to make the difference between your older LCD or non hdr 4K tv to what you be upgrading to. In nutshell, HDR IS the upgrade from old to the new. So, this does support HDR and my God does it look amazing when you can see it...when you can see it. What I mean by that is, because this TV can only get to about 380 Nits of brightness, some scenes in films can appear to dark...to see much of anything really. You can try to enable contrast enhancers or increase your gamma but in doing so your going to create some error. For example if you increase your gamma from st.2084 level 0 to level 2 you might be able to see more in dark scenes but others scenes may seem cloudy or washed out. Increasing contrast could help but some daylight scenes may seem overly bright. Unfortunately with this TV its something you'll have live with and get used to. I personally keep the gamma at 0 or 2 depending on the film and the contrast level high. You basically will need a TV that does about 800 - 1000 Nits for decent HDR. But if you a spectacular image you'll still need a good image processor as well. I've tried a cheaper TCL R617 once and Although it was a much brighter TV it had a terrible image processor and picture overall looked very cheap, with virtually every content I fed it. So I would take this TV over cheaper brands any day even it doesn't get as bright. It's not a bad TV overall but I give 3 stars for where it lacks. I intend to give this to my folks since they only stream and watch blu-rays and I will go with higher end Sony or Samsung. NOTE: I also forgot to mention Samsung does not support Dolby vision as well which in my experience does look better. HDR 10 = Good HDR, Dolby Vision = Superb HDR

TV has a very good picture and the operating system works well and is easy to use. I like that you can plug in a wireless keyboard and has built in Internet browser. The TV recognizes each device I plug in and sets the name for the device automatically.. I have a Sony PlayStation 4 and an Xbox hooked up and it recognized both. When I switch to that input and turn on the game system, the TV automatically goes into game mode. The TV also automatically comes on when I turn on the game console. The TV recognized my soundbar and the remote setup automatically to control it. Technology is awesome when it works properly and this TV works properly.

The good: most everything. -The picture -The motion flow is very solid. Not 240Hz good, but very good nonetheless. -Easy-to-setup. -Even the built-in speaker is better than most. What I'm still struggling with: -I cannot manually check OTA channels, nor do a channel scan. Apparently this TV does it already. -Accessing the Menu panel from the remote is a touch confusing. I wish it were more clear. Also, this TV is meant for mounting on a wall. Which is my aim. In the meantime, I'm using the supplied stand (feet) that came with it. In all honesty, those feet are kind of flimsy. I've had for just under a month.
