    Major issues after 2 months

Let me begin by saying that I was a Samsung fan up and to this point. Nearly all of my electronics are of Samsung make. So when I decided to upgrade to my standard 65”HD to 4K I only considered Samsung as my old tv had been working faithfully everyday for the past 6 years. I decided upon the nu6900 as it was nearly identical the next level 7 series less one hdmi input and a bit more thickness. Everything was great, at first. Picture quality was great and while the sound quality was just I okay, own a Samsung sound bar that easily synced to improve the quality. After just over two months of ownership I began to notice the screen flash with vertical banding as well as intermittent flashes of “snow.” At first I believed it to be loose Hdmi cables or out of date firmware. This wasn’t the case as it continued to worsen and became more frequent. At this point the TV is completely unwatchable. I have called customer support and they will be out to fully replace the panel a week after my initial complaint. I am happy they are fixing it for me under warranty, but now I have a refurbished tv that I paid full price for. I was most disappointed that I couldn’t just return it to Best Buy where I bought it for another one. It would have saved me time and a lot of aggravation. In closing it should be noted that in talking with customer service they didn’t exactly say that this was an isolated occurrence; if anything they eluded to the fact that this has been a commonality. Overall the TV, when it worked, was pretty good and I’m sure I was just an unlucky recipient of a defective unit but it kind of sucks that I couldn’t just exchange it for another one. I have a few more tv’s to purchase and may consider another brand in the future.

    Decent picture, poor software

This TV was a warranty replacement for my Hisense, and it was a quick decision without much research. I will say that the picture quality is much better than my Hisense was, but the adjustment options are seriously inferior. The first issue was with the inability to disable the TV Plus app. I have no issues with pre-installed apps, but to not have the option to disable or turn off something I don't want is a negative mark in my book. Also the Amazon Prime app would not work until I powered the TV off and on 3 times, and the Hulu app does not allow you to select a different profile other than the main account profile. Having experience as a Tech Support rep for Samsung phones I knew to make sure the TV and Apps were up to date and it did not change anything. Another issue is with the display adjustment options. It only gives you broad stroke abilities. For example with my Hisense I could fine tune the simple options like brightness, backlight, contrast, and color in a 0-100 range. With this TV it is much more restricted and comes set to its highest settings. The backlight is also not a true backlight, it is lit from the edges of the TV. This causes grayness when watching movies that have a black bar top and bottom. Again I will give it props for its blacks, color, and 1080p upscaling, but I have spent hours trying to find a good overall picture setting, but find myself having to adjust for video games, tv, and hdr/4k content everytime I switch from one to another. I ended up exchanging this TV for a Sony based on research and reviews. I love Samsung as a phone company and would never buy something other than Samsung for a celluar phone, but for now will stick with TV brands that have been in the game for some time. This wasn't the TV for me, especially for gaming, settings, software and ultimately (due to side lit "backlight" and broad tuning options) picture. All I can say is do your research, talk to multiple TV educated people, and read the reviews before you buy. For example the Sony I ended up exchanging this for has a perfect 5 star review, with some minor criticism, but the criticism is not on options that are a concern for me. Overall if you are fine with having to constantly make picture adjustments based on what you are watching, or switching from TV to gaming, this is the TV for you. If you are fine with the default image settings, and do not mind apps you don't have complete control over then also this TV is just fine for you.

A friend broke my living room TV when visiting so offered to replace it for me. Nice gesture, but I should have been picky and told them what I wanted - with their paying for it though I left it up to them. The Samsung NU6900 is what they got. It's been a horrible experience. Rather than write a book, let me just list a few of the issues/omissions about this model that many people might overlook, thinking that today in 2019, that EVERY TV 55 inches and up would have these features (surprise - they don't)... 1: Glare. The screen panel is really bad with glare from lamps, windows, etc. Much worse than my 12 year old TV this replaced. You have to turn lamps off to watch this. 2) No Bluetooth: Without bluetooth, you cannot use wireless headphones, other wireless devices, and you cannot "cast" video from your phone or tablet onto the TV. HUGE omission in a modern set. 3) Only Two HDMI ports: No excuse for this on a 65" TV. Even my tiny cheap 32" TV (other brand) in my room has 3. You are extremely limited to only two things plugged in to your set at once and have to unplug/plug cables to swap other devices. 4) Horrible remote control: Small buttons, hard to see, and some wise person actually put the "return" button right under the left navigation key, so you can very easily bump yourself out of the entire area you're in very easily. Nice. I could go on but those are the major things to be aware of. This is an absolutely bare-bones, "TV only" type of set with the ability to awkwardly navigate some apps. There are other brands that will give you those missing features in the same price range. Samsung should be ashamed to make a 65" TV missing so many modern features. This one I'd avoid. Even as a gift, I'm most likely going to return it and swap it for something else. Avoid.

    GREAT TV!!

I bought this TV a week ago and it has exceeeded all my expectations. I was a little nervous since these just came out a month ago and even the folks at Best Buy didn’t know what I was asking for when I went to buy it but whatever. Anyways I was stuck between this and the TCL 4 and 6 series but the TCL wasn’t bright enough for me (my living room has a lot of natural light) and I heard the TCL had banding issues with the display. And I am so glad I stuck with the name brand. TV looks super modern and sleek. I couldn’t tell a difference between this one and the NU7100 so I went with the NU6900 and saved about $150. Not sure why people are trashing this TV because the display is phenomenal. I watched Thor Ragnarok in 4K and was super impressed. The blacks are great, colors have that Samsung saturation and all under $1000. Can’t beat it. The only real cons about the tv is that there are only 2 HDMI ports which is ok for me but can be annoying for some. And the Samsung Apps are trash. Hulu doesn’t work, Netflix is fine but the overall interface is terrible and clunky to navigate. Plus no Sunday Ticket. I’m a cord cutter so I bought a Roku Streaming stick+ and it is light years better. Apps, picture and the ability to control the power and volume. I’m not gonna ding the TV because there are plenty of streaming devices that you can easily use that are better. So if you’re looking for a 65 inch TV and trying to stay under budget go ahead and pick this one up.

    What happened to Samsung?!?

I always rave about Samsung TVs being the best and worth the money. It is the only brand I would buy. I just bought this TV at the end of Nov 2018. It is less than 4 months later and nothing but issues. First, the volume will randomly go out. You would have to turn TV off and back on to get it working again. Wasn't a big deal so I just lived with it rather than deal with calling and exchanging. I am pretty lazy and don't like having to call or go places. I like to stay home and watch TV haha. But now there are also a few vertical, thin lines on one side of the TV. Some are dark and some are light and they are various colors. Now the screen will randomly be just white for a min or two. Contacted Samsung Care Pros and did all the troubleshooting (since it has been more than 30 days so Best Buy won't help you). The troubleshooting made MORE and DARKER lines appear. So I have now filled out a Service request for a technician to come look at it. And I better find my receipt or else (they put it slightly more nice than that but still). What an inconvenience, this TV is garbage and they should know it from all the other complaints I am now finding on this TV. To be honest, I didn't check the online reviews before purchase (as I usually do) because it is a Samsung. I expected it to be the best quality as my past TVs have been. So sad that you can't get any good quality anymore, even if you are willing to pay more up front. Do yourself a huge favor if you just want to watch TV, don't buy this one. Any one but this one!!

Purchased this TV during Black Friday Sale on Nov. 18, 2018. The TV developed issues within a couple days. It would not turn on intermittently. I would have to disconnected from it power and plug back in to get it to turn on. Next it started to randomly lock up and could not be turned off unless it was disconnected from power. Connected online with Samsung Tech Support which had me do the soft and hard reset, check for software updates. This didn't work. I returned the TV for an exchange about 2 weeks after the initial purchase. The exchange TV worked normal for a few weeks and started doing the same thing. More time with Samsung Tech Support, if I could get through to them. Same soft reset and hard reset. Then they found a software update that didn't install with the automatic updates. I had to download the update from Samsung to a flash drive and install it on the TV. This seemed to work for awhile. Then the problems started appearing again, in addition to an HDMI port that randomly stops functioning. I want to return the TV to Bestbuy, but it is over the 30 day limit. I have had the TV for 67 days. I have attempted to get Samsung to authorize a return for refund, but they want me to schedule a technician to come look at my TV. I am done with this TV. I do not want this TV. I will not recommend this model. I wish Bestbuy would step up and let me exchange this TV though it is over the 30 day limit on returns.

We bought this tv on Black Friday sale to replace a 16 year old Hitachi, when the picture began to fail. The NU6900 worked perfectly, until we disconnected the satellite two weeks later. Then, when turning the tv on in the morning, after being off for several hours, everything was frozen, it wouldn’t open any apps and we would get error messages. You would have to turn the tv off for about 30 seconds and when turned back on, it would reboot and everything was perfect until the next morning. I thought it may have been an internet problem. Spectrum came out, tested the speed and checked for any outside problems. We have the newest router and modem, so they found no connectivity problems. Geek Squad came out and they tried everything and finally did a factory reset. He said if that doesn’t work, call back. The same thing happened so I called Best Buy. I was within the extended holiday return policy, so Best Buy said I could exchange or return the tv. I replaced with NU6070, since NU6900 was out of stock. It worked perfectly for a few days, then the same problem started. I began to think Samsung app TV Plus was the guilty culprit, since that was the channel on the screen in the morning with the frozen picture. I deleted all the channels in the app, then “removed” the app. Have not had a problem since. It is my opinion that there is an issue with that particular app and it was not the tv. The picture is awesome, has beautiful color, right out of the box and the sound is good.

I bought this TV as a birthday present/housewarming gift for my daughter after she bought her first house. We took it out of the box, got everything hooked up and turned it on. The setup process was quick and easy, but we noticed a horizontal shadow about 2.5 inches wide running from side-to-side right about the mid-point of the screen with what looked like individual pixels lit up a little brighter than the shadow causing lighter spots in the shadow. Once the setup was complete we started switching through the inputs and we were really disappointed to see the shadow was still there. Called the store where I bought it, and while working throught the phone menu, then waiting for someone to answer I navigated to the Settings menu and decided I'd try doing a complete reset on the unit. The reset was pretty quick and then we were back to going through the initial setup, but the shadow was gone. Working through the different inputs we were happy to see it was no longer visible on any of the screens. I'm not sure what caused it, but happy the reset fixed it so I didn't have to take the legs off, box it back up and return it. The picture quality is great, even on the local HD channels from the broadcast antenna. Hopefully the shadow doesn't return, but if it does I'm very happy we bought the service plan.

I purchased this about a month ago, after my 18 month old Insignia bit the dust. (Still salty about that one). I wanted something with a better name brand, but didn't want to break the bank, especially as I hadn't been planning to purchase a new TV. Found this Samsung 65" for a good price, and was able to get one of the last ones my local store had in stock. Picture is great, it gets nice and bright. It's a smart TV, which is nice. Cons: Only 2.4ghz wireless, no 5ghz - I ended up wiring it with ethernet as I hated the slower 2.4 speed. Only 2 HDMI ports - not a huge deal, as that's how many I use, but if I swap things in and out, I have to unplug something. Keep this in mind if you have a bunch of connections. The samsung Tizen operating system is okay - it's not nearly as fluid or intuitive as the Roku os that I'm used to - but it gets the job done. Overall, I'm super pleased with the quality of picture, and the sound is even pretty decent on its own. It's been a great replacement for the Insignia I had. Hoping it lasts much longer than 18 months.

Just got this TV to upgrade from a 50" Plasma.....yes, I said Plasma. Picture quality is great. I tried using the Movie mode for movies but found I prefer the Standard setting (with just a few tweeks to the picture). The sound isn't too bad either. Listening to Pandora was enjoyable. Since I will be hooking it up to an external receiver and amplifier, the sound isn't really an issue. I will mention though that the rear panel is curved as it goes up from the bottom. There are spacers included in the box so that the wall mount bracket (not included) will sit flush against the back. Mounting screws are not included either just the ones that allow you to attach the feet to the TV. If you catch this TV on sale I say go for it. I am very pleased with my purchase.

    Samsung SmartHub Lightyears Behind Roku

TV and picture quality are exceptional unless you are trying to utilize ANY of the smart tv functionality. A majority of the normal apps I used with my previous Roku Smart TV including Pandora, Xfinity Beta App, Netflix, etc. all malfunction. For example, Pandora will not play a majority of the songs on any station I select and the Xfinity Beta app only fills 60% of my screen with a grainy picture. Additionally, even though this is a 2018 model, the wifi adapter will only connect to a 2.4 gHz connection. It's 2018!!! Will not hold a Wifi connection and must be hardwired for consistent, grainy streaming. I worked with Samsung technical support to perform a SmartHub then Factory reset which did not fix any of these issues 45 minutes later. I will be returning this device.

Got this tv for 589.00 read reviews and said for the price what the heck. Well ill tell you what the heck. Fantastic picture. Love the upgrades on apps. We use utube tv and hulu and well heck with high dollar cable. This picture is fantastic sharp and crisp. Plenty of hookups hmi and avi . Xbox looks great fast motion clarity and well best 600 dollars ever spent. I love samsung and have samsung on most every device I own. Only have had it for a few months and did buy the protection plan just incase. Been a Best Buy customer and well have not had any issues to this point. Have 4 samsung tvs and no issues there either. Just a great 65 inch tv for the price. Hope everyone else has good luck if you buy this tv. I definently say yes at this price.

Picked this baby up a few days ago since I really felt like watching a movie and the 32 incher was not cutting it in my living room. This is my second samsung tv and they do not disappoint. You are paying more than the off brands but I say it is definitely worth it. The sound is killer right out of the box, and picture is crystal clear of course. We watched deadpool 2 in case you were wondering. Set up is a breeze and the apps are fast. I personally love how the screen imitates a closing eyelid when you shut it off. Still have to break this beast in but I don't anticipate any issues coming from samsung.

Bought this for the super bowl on sale and after over 1 month of use I am very happy with the performance for the price. It's basically the same TV and the incoming 7xxx series (same screen) but only has 2 HDMI inputs and is was 20% lower price. Color and HDR are very good and I am happy with the contrast ratio. When I evaluated my needs I thought 2 HDMI inputs would be sufficient but have since found a 3rd would be very handy indeed since where I have it installed it is difficult to get to the ports. Speaking of the inputs on the rear of the TV, I am definitely not a fan of the location and orientation f the ports. I have larger hands and plugging devices in, e.g., a Fire Stick, is very cumbersome and sometimes I felt as if I may damage either the port or the cable/device being plugged in. When

I gave this tv 3 stars because although it’s a great tv and the image is beautiful, my family and I were very disappointed when putting it up on the wall. When we chose to get this tv they did not have any on display but the guy helping us reassured us that it was a thin tv. Which it is from the top, but from the middle down it was thicker. On top of that, that tv was rounded not flat. So it was lifted from the bottom portion and was basically facing the ceiling. This was very upsetting because we loved the tv but could do nothing about the thickness and rounded aspect of it to make it look good on the wall. If you want the tv to go mounted on your wall, I would not suggest getting this one.

Best Buy delivered this 6 series TV to me on February 6th. I returned a 58” Samsung 7 series TV at the same time. Both had excellent pictures but I decided that for $50 more, I would get the extra 7 inches of diagonal screen size. Best Buy unboxed, assembled and tested the TV within the time window promised. They also re-boxed and carted away the 58” TV. I connected it to my Roku and within 10 minutes was watching Netflix. The picture is excellent on both TVs and I cannot really tell the difference between the 6 and 7 series. It amazes me that you can spend up to $3k on a Samsung 65” QLED TV that has a somewhat better picture but the picture quality improvement is nowhere near as proportionate as the price difference. Great TV and great service.

After two months this TV broken down. Half the screen went completely black. I called Samsung and their costumer service was a nightmare. You stay on the phone for 30 to 45 minutes before someone actually picks up. Then they would ask you millions of questions and ask you to text them pictures of the TV. Afterwards, they would want you to do a self test on the TV before they would consider sending a tech to your house. It can take 2 days for a tech to come down to your house and instead of replacing the TV with a new one the tech would replace only the screen. Think about it

It's a really good 65' TV. Picture is really nice except when their are fast movements.. (watching The Price is Right) when they scan the camera around the audience, this TV makes it "shaky/stutters" it's hard to explain. Otherwise all the features are great, our cable is hooked up and great. Only other complaint is right now I'm watching Thursday Night Football and have the TV volume setting up loud but it's not very loud at all. I'm going to make a purchase for a sound system or what not. Some channels are super loud on 20 and some I have to put on 50+.

We needed to replace our Sony 49" that we bought about 3 years ago and decided to go a little bigger with this 65". Made a world of difference. No more squinting to see dark images or details for starters. Pictures are crisp and cinematic CGI never looked so natural. Sprung for the Smart Things soundbar now sports watching is at a new level. I have a Samsung Note 9 and love it but since the phone and TV were made for each other the smart things app lets me control the entire setup easily. Waiting on a deal for the subwoofer to make my Samsung experience complete but well worth the investment so far
