Beware of horrible HDMI CEC Control and ARC

This was my first 4K TV and the clarity is incredible. However, soon after I connected the TV to my home theater setup (Denon AVR connected to Apple TV, and cable box) I noticed HDMI control was not working properly. I verified all settings on TV, Apple TV, and Denon AVR were correct and CEC and ARC enabled yet I was still unable to control volume, Input, and power on devices using HDMI CEC control. I needed to use 4 different remotes to simply watch content on my Apple TV. I have a 7+ year old Vizio that worked flawlessly with this function. I use to be able to tap my Apple TV remote and it would turn on TV, AVR, and change input to Apple TV with a single click. This functionality does not exist with this TV. I also attempted to use ARC hdmi audio out to listen to audio from TV apps on my AVR and this did not work either. After searching online forums this is a common problem with Samsung TVs for many years. I find it insane that the company still has not addressed this issue. I ended up returning this Tv for Sony x900h which in my option has a better picture and hdmi CEC control and ARC worked out of the box without any headaches. I simply connected my devices and everything worked as expected. If HDMI CEC device control and audio out via ARC is something you are looking for, look for another TV! Samsung needs to address this!
