I never knew what I was missing, this picture is incredible!! I will never cheap out on a tv again. I'm seeing new details I've missed in movies I've watched 100 times before. Plus Samsung seems to get it right with the tv operating system and synching with my Samsung soundbar with Q-Symphony. I'm a big Samsung fan for home theatre...

The sound is only fair-to-poor. The automatic brightness is set too low and I have yet too find a control that allows me to increase the brightness. The remote is compact and works as intended. It has some feature whose purpose is unclear, even in the user manual. There are several other "superfluous" features that are available, that I didn't know that I needed. These features and controls are in the way of the user who only wants explicit control of the basis screen controls.

Thank you for purchasing Samsung's Q80A and for sharing your thoughts on the image quality. To ensure that your TV’s picture is optimized, be sure that you are always running the latest firmware update. You can check this by going to Settings > Support > Software Update or you can enable Auto Update for convenience.
If the default brightness setting is not to your liking, you can customize the brightness level between 0 – 50 to your preference. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Brightness.
You can also try different Picture Modes to see which best fits your needs. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode for the below choices:
1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
Intelligent Mode also enables the TV to recognize and analyze the surroundings, noise, content, and your usage patterns to provide the best viewing experience. You can enable Intelligent Mode by going to Home > Settings > General > Intelligent Mode Settings. Adaptive Picture, which is among the options, optimizes brightness and provides the best picture quality in real time, based on the lighting condition and the content you're viewing.
To further assist you in learning various features, functions and settings, please know you can download the Q80A TV's User Manual, e-Manual, Remote Control Leaflet, and Quick Setup Guide on Samsung's website by clicking "Support" > "Manuals & Software" > "TVs & Home Theater". From there, you can select the Q80A under "QLED 4K TVs” > "A Model Lineup". Additionally, you can find other guides and manuals to further assist you with your TV’s features.

Still don't use all the features and my husbandis still learning how to manuver, but the picture is awesome. We do not have cable, we use an antenna. This tv has a guide for all of the over-the-air programming. It also has many apps built in, but we use a fire stick so typically use that for Netlix, etc. I would definitely buy again and if prices drop with technology, we will be replacing bedroom tv with another Samsung QLED!

It's not the greatest Samsung has to offer, but for the size and price, I think it was worth it. Now, keeping in mind that my previous TV was almost 20 years old (also a Samsung) anything would make a huge splash. HD quality is superb and Samsung has it's own TV Channel guide (which is not bad I may say). As stated before, overall great TV and I would definitely love Samsung!
