Setup wasn’t easy, but a good TV

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The only reason I’m not giving this TV a five-star rating is because we had 24 hours of problems trying to get it to turn on and set up, and Samsung support was not helpful, even when escalated to management. We gave up and agreed we would return it the following day. But it actually joined the network the next morning, and we have been very impressed since. I wish their setup instructions were as good as the TV.

Although you have already completed TV setup, please know You can download the Q80A TV's User Manual, e-Manual, Remote Control Leaflet, and Quick Setup Guide to further assist you in learning your TV's various features, functions and settings. You can find these guides on Samsung's website by clicking "Support" > "Manuals & Software" > "TVs & Home Theater" > "TVs". From there, you can select the Q80A under "QLED 4K TVs” > "A Model Lineup". Additionally, you can find other guides and manuals to further assist you with your TV’s features.

Almost every time we watch HULU (which came pre-installed) we have to exit HULU and watch regular over the air TV for at least 15 minutes to avoid HULU refusing to load the next time we want to watch it. The only way to fix the problem is to unplug the TV for a minute or two ... THEN, HULU will load properly. There is no way to reset the TV or reinstall the HULU APP. To add insult to injury, the remote is recharged via light in lieu of changing the batteries. Two days ago the remote stopped holding a charge. Now we have to hold the remote under a light source each day before the remote will work. We will NEVER AGAIN purchase a Samsung product. NEVER.

When i switched on the news there was often someone whose head was overtly bright and half of which had no outline upon looking up close. This was very distracting and could not get used to it. Researhed and found that after 100 hours odd brightness would be alleviated so began keeping it on 12 hours per day due to the 15 day return policy . No change in picture and with a variety of settings so i returned it experiencing no problems with customer service from Best Buy!

We had a hiccup when we unboxed it and set it up, as the remote wouldn’t work. But one quick chat to tech support and they fixed it on the spot by helping us reboot in the right sequence. The picture is great on this tv —- and the sound is also fantastic! We didn’t even need our sound bar. We use this in our large master bedroom.

This is no different. Brother needed a new TV for his room and the setup is seamless with his phone app (he is physically disabled so he runs everything from his phone through his power wheelchair). Picture is great. Thing is heavy as heck but that's to be expected with screens this size.
