Expected better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected much better from this TV. It has a lot of shimmering and ghosting. I worked on the settings for almost a week. I set the picture clarity on Custom and set the blur and judder reductions to the maximum, adjusted the Intelligent Mode, the Picture Mode, got QLED cables for my new Apple 4K streaming box. I could go on and on. You name it and I did it. The only time I don’t have this issue is when I’m playing video games. It displays games very well. The sound is fine but like I said, it’s the shimmering and ghosting. It does this on everything from SD to 4K and it’s pretty distracting. I’m hoping that Samsung does a software update to fix this, if that’s even possible. I normally buy Sony electronics but my Sony 4K TV died on me after just 2 1/2 years and I was afraid to get another one. For as long as it lasted, the movement on the screen was flawless. Honestly, I would avoid buying this TV. Samsung has a very good reputation and I was sure that I couldn’t go wrong but unfortunately, I did.

Thank you for your review of Samsung's Q80A TV and for sharing details of image quality. To address the ghosting images you are seeing, please try the following steps:
1. Try connecting the TV to a different source (e.g. change HDMI ports.) to identify whether the issue is with the TV or the source.
2. Power cycle both the TV and the source. Make sure to unplug the TV and the source from the power point, wait at least one minute before plugging and turning them back on.
3. Check to see if your TV has the latest firmware version (1805.4). If not, update to the latest firmware.
4. Reset the Picture Settings. Go to: Home > Settings > Picture Expert Settings > Reset Picture
5. Try adjusting your TV's Power and Energy Saving functions. Go to: Home > Settings > General > Power and Energy Saving to adjust the Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting.
