Please avoid this model, i bought this tv a few days ago and had to take back to bb to exchange it for another one because the blooming/light bleed its very noticeable that is annoying. The new one they gave me does the same thing. You can't enjoy any type of content with dark scenes because of the blooming, was trying to watch the batman and notice all the blooming, try to change the setting but nothing worked. Also i did try different streaming platforms and it was all the same. Maybe the new q80b(2022 model) had fixed this issue because its really annoying. Now im gonna have to go back to bb to change it again but now im going to try to get the qn85, hopefully that one doesn't have this kind of issues. which it shouldn't because it has mini led but we will have to see.

This has been the most shocking experience of my time with this purchase. This tv Samsung Q80 65” it’s quality is atrocious and disappointing. I brought this tv and screen has bright spots at the top of the screen. I returned the tv a total of 3 time and each one has the bright spot’s. Need I remind you these are brand new out of the box. I just upgraded to the neo Q85 65” Hopefully this model will work or I will have to no longer purchase Samsung products.

    Another Quality Television…

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Q80 does not disappoint. This is our second Q80 in the house and the picture is just as good if not better than the previous one purchased. The bezel around the frame is thin and overall we didn't feel this television was too heavy to move around and hang. We used a slim flat wall hanger and it fit perfect with minimal space between the wall and the television. The setup was fantastic. The television walks you through an automated setup via your mobile device or the remove. We chose the mobile device and it worked flawlessly. Seemed so much easier than dealing with a remote control to perform the setup. The technology has really advanced since our last purchase. The remote is Solar! No more crusted AA or AAA batteries in your remotes! Just keep the remote by a light source and you're charged up and ready to use on the television with ease. This was a great idea and I think will catch on with other vendors over time to help save the environment and become more green. The picture is just so detailed. The greens on the Masters golf tournament look like you're actually there. The speed at which you change channels and menu options is fair and overall, the television is just a great view on the wall compared to some of the older televisions out there. Do not be shy about looking and reviewing these televisions. They truly are a piece of technology that you will be able to use for years to come.

Terrible choice as it had a bad spot at top that was apparently an issue with backlight. Samsung Rep suggested a TCL. Samsung also has a issue with major delay and skips with the DirectTV app they don’t seems to want to fix. Love the TCL, great picture and was $250 cheaper.

On bright scenes the picture quality is great. However in any dark scene, the top of the screen becomes washed out with light, almost cloudy. I have gotten the panel replaced once already, and the replacement is even worse.

Great color but the light bleed is horrendous to look at. Paid good money for this tv and i cant get over how much the light bleeds thru the screen. Every cut scene on a movie i see the bleed and it drives me crazy! If it was a $300-500 tv i wouldnt care but this was crazy expensive. Id look elsewhere if you have the same problem of looking over details.

I bought this and had a horrible light bleed to the top left. Replaced it, and same exact problem. Not to mention this is the second time I’ve hung it. After seeing all the reviews stay away from this tv. Best Buy has been great but it shouldn’t sell these with all the bad reviews going on about the same problem. I am at least returning it during the 30 day period, but feel bad for any of those that missed that window. It’s unbearable for a $1200 tv.

Worst Samsung product I have ever bought. Only a month old and the brightness issue of what appears to be a white rod in the center of the TV. The appears on a dark screen and at night it’s the worst and highly annoying to watch. Samsung has come out to see if the can fix it but haven’t had an answer.

    State of the Art tv

The Samsung 65" Q80A QLED 4K Smart TV is state of the art! The picture is crystal clear and perfect no matter what seat you are in! No blind spots or glare. The sound (Quantum dot) is incredible and travels with the picture. It comes with Samsung TV which is a subscription free TV service with over a 150 channels and growing! The remote control is solar powered and charged by the lights in the home! No more looking for batteries. I love the on screen TV guide as well the built in voice control. You can change the channel, search for content, control smart home devices using just your voice. The screen can also be customized to display graphics or artwork when not in use. There is so much this television is capable of including mirroring your Samsung phone screen with the tap of a button! I've only had this television for a little over a week and I'm looking forward to making new discoveries as I learn what else this television is capable of doing! Samsung has thought of everything and put a lot of innovation and experience into the consumers viewing experience. I am very pleased with this model! I never knew how much I was missing out on before this television arrived. I can not wait to rediscover gaming with this advanced technology!

Couldn't be happier with our choice of this tv. Color is great, picture is great. Not much of a glare if at all even in a bright room. The remote being solar recharging is awesome. We've had this tv for a few months now and zero problems. Other people complained of stickers on the screen that couldnt come off or that the screen wasnt perfectly clear...they did not pull the screen protector off. Ours had a tab so maybe Samsung made a small update on their packaging after so many complaints but it was easy to remove and crystal clear picture after that. Even with the protective film, it was rather clear, just not perfect.

Very happy with this purchase, and even happier I did not cheap out; My original budget ceiling was $1000. but I got this one anyway. Samsung did not make me regret it. Color is amazing, the picture is vibrant and detailed without looking oversaturated. View angles are very good (I have been told this because of a new panel added since the Q80T series). I have it in a bright room, and it is plenty bright to make the screen completely visible. Very little reflection. It uses a local dimming feature that makes blacks blacker than they otherwise would be with a full always-on LED backlight. It does work, but it is not going to match a true OLED display for blacks. But if you can't get OLED, this is probably the next best thing. The OS is very quick and fluid, and there is little to complain about, save for the typical Samsung thing of including apps you cannot remove (Apple TV is an example...it will appear on your Home bar forever....you can't uninstall it or remove it). But you do have full control over picture and OS settings otherwise. I am often critical of Samsung OSs...I have owned many Samsung TVs, all with horrible UIs. But this one is slick, fast, and mostly intuitive. You will need to join Samsung Plus to get access to the full app library (it's free). But every app I needed is on there, and all the apps appear to be "current"...so I don't feel the need to use my Roku or Fire TV. The OS will allow you to set your own default voice assistant; Alexa, Google, and Siri are supported. I used Google...did not have any luck using it to change system settings or anything. But if you want to, say, find directions or hours for stores and stuff, it could be useful. The OS will also auto-adjust things like brightness and volume for you if you want, so you can go from very dark to very light ambient light wiothout having to mess with the settings. So far, I have not seen reason to mess with it, and I usually feel like I have to adjust stuff like that. The remote is another thing Samsung usually gets wrong. The last one I used had a weird IR-cursor thing that was too sensitive to be useful. But again, this TV remote is amazing. Very minimalistic but functional. It has a non-removable batter that is charged by either USB-C, or a solar panel built into the back. Simply leaving the solar panel exposed all the time (you don't need direct sunlight) is probably enough to keep it charged. It's a neat idea. If you're on the fence about going a little cheaper, my advice is just take the plunge. It was worth it for me. MY scores are relative to other TVs in this price range for this size.
