Samsung QN800A is the TV for 2021
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, this is the best TV I've ever owned. From the picture quality to the audio quality, it's one of the best from 2021. The 8k unscaling makes the picture the absolute best it can be. I have an Xbox Series X and this TV is the absolute best to get the most out of your gaming system. The game bar also makes gaming a pleasure as you can fine tune your gaming experience. The 4 2.1 hdmi ports make sure you can always get a 120 refresh rate which takes TV gaming to the next level. Especially since this tv offers a variable refresh rate. This is a genius and intuitive TV with a beautiful user interface and a great app bar that makes using google tv or Roku obsolete. This is definitely the tv to get.

Samsung QN800A 8K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First TV was damaged. Replacement TV was missing the screen protector, meaning it was previously opened. TV Black colors are extremely black, and any scenes with a dark background are way too dark. I had to go through several settings on the picture settings to finally get it adjusted. You must use the Shadow detail setting, and set it up to 5 (Highest setting) to brighten up the dark content. Contrast , and local dimming at highest setting. Gamma setting BT.1886 has to be at least on 2 with 3 the highest setting to brighten up dark scenes. . Adaptive picture has to also be on, and Color set at 23 or above.. All on Picture settings. Or else you'll have elements way to dark. Picture is exceptional when going to You Tube 8K content videos. Motion flow does have some stuttering in fast moving sports, but not enough to irritate one. Could be better for this high end model. Colors are vivid and intense. I'm keeping this TV, but there's not much of a difference then my Samsung 2016 800 series 4K TV that has Quantum Dot then just being slightly clearer. This TV is thin , and the frame flexes. Sound quality is decent, but not outstanding, and must be put on amplify setting to gain richness. With heavy bass sound content there's some annoying vibration. You need 2 people to mount it. Frankly unless getting your feeds from an actual 8K content, it's not worth it.

Don't buy unless you just want to stream movies!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the 65QN800A TV and love the streaming on it. I love the upscaling on it. The reason for the two star review? I can't find a decent UHD Blu Ray player that works with it. I bought the Panasonic DP-UB820-K player because it supports HDR10+. Turned on Signal Plus first. Then the TV would just flash the setup screen on the player - off for 1-2 seconds and then on for 1-2 seconds. Spoke with Samsung and they had me do a factory reset on the TV (grrrr). That didn't correct the issue either. Did a factory reset on the player also to no avail. Samsung said it was the player. I went through Panasonic support and they said it didn't seem to be the player, but they would replace it. NOTE that the UB820 does work on my older LG 4K TV without issue. I sent back the UB820 and thought I would buy the Panasonic UB420 player and now have the same issue. Despite changing settings on both the TV and the player, nothing works. However, the UB420 works great on my older LG 4K TV. Not sure Samsung tried this model on any UHD player!!! This is quite sad. I own Samsung tablets, phones, and a watch and decided to try a high end TV only to come up short. Is there ANY decent UHD player that works with this TV? I have never owned a 4K player before and only enjoyed streaming before now. However, I would really like to get best from this TV, but I think streaming is the only way to use this TV.

Real world user and a real review.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start out with the picture. The picture is top notch, but why the 1 star... I just came from a 65" Q800T Series QLED 8K tv that was a total nightmare, so many problems with that model (check the forums before you buy) and they actually bought the tv back from and and gave me a refund to purchase this NEO Qled tv. Now this thing has a major issue and its with sound. The sound just goes out or it makes what sounds like ticking noises and have to keep changing the sound from auto to pass-through then to pcm and back to auto for the sound to come back on. This is insane coming from 2 of the most top of the line tv's they make. Also while checking the forums other people are having the same issues. So in short stay away!! And i hate to say that because i love samsung products. But never again..

Posted .Hello shoke93,
Thank you for your review of the QN90A Neo QLED TV and for sharing your details of your sound cutting out. If the audio drop issue is happening when connected via HDMI, the HDMI cable is most likely the cause. We recommend you replace the HDMI cable with a High-Speed cable with Ethernet Channel, labeled as HEC or HEAC on the cable. Also be sure to enable HDMI-eARC in the Expert Settings menu. Lastly, please also verify that you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
If this does not help, we ask that you contact us for additional troubleshooting or assistance with setting up a service appointment. You can call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or text HELP to 62913.

Fire starting hot (temperature wise)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is great, but the demo model at my BestBuy was fire starting hot. I had my mind made up to get this model until I touched the bottom edge of the demo model in my BestBuy. I decided to go with the much cooler (heatwise) 4k model after seeing bothon display.

Posted .Hi TechandSafteyNerd,
Thank you for your feedback on the QN800A Neo QLED 8K Smart TV. Keeping any TV, including in-store display units, for an extended period of time causes the panel to generate heat. The heat from the panel is dissipated through internal vents running along the top of the TV. The bottom, however, may feel hot to the touch after extended use. This heat, however, is not a defect and does not affect the TV's functionality.

Thank you for your review of Samsung's QN800A TV and for sharing your experience with input devices. Please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1805.4 which includes updates to address input device performance. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:
1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model.
2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.
In addition to ensuring your TV's firmware is up to date, please make sure you are using a high-speed HDMI cable with Ethernet Channel sometimes called HDMI HEC cable. Also be sure to enable HDMI-eARC in the Expert Settings menu.
Should you need further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.
