Great TV

Im usung it with a sound bar, but the sound withoutvthe sound bar is surprisingly good - fir apartment buildings it might be all you would need. The weak slot, in my opinion, is the remote and the sortware, which im still getting used to. Samsung includes some channel choices in its Samsung TV Plus which adds to the already bewildering arrray of channel choices, but i suppose is a plus. It is veryvthin - basically a sheet of glass into which a tremendous amount of technology is compressed. It is, all told, an amazing achievement takes place at the push of a button. I only wish they had paid more attention to the button, which, unlike Apple’s stainless steel remore, is plastic a somewhat confusuon gateway to such a marvel of electronics.

Bad Experience!

Amazing picture quality horrible operating system

Negatives are the slow and janky Tizen OS. Not sure why Samsung chose to use this over AndroidTV which can be slow as well but its not nearly as janky as Tizen OS. Another negative is the motion smoothing which isnt nearly as good as my 6yr older Sony X900E. Another small gripe is the speaker quality. Bot bad but not great either.

We appreciate your thoughts on the picture quality of Samsung’s S90C TV. If the image you’re seeing isn’t to your liking, there are several picture settings you may want to adjust.
Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
3. Eco: Provided to save energy
4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).

Love this TV so much!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've long dreamed of owning an OLED like this, but couldn't justify the cost until recently. LG has been the leader in this area with Sony on it's coat tails, but WOW... Samsung blew the doors off the hinges with this, the S90C, and the S95C models. You get all of the inky deep dark blacks and contrast you'd get with the LG plus all the absolutely robust brightness and color you'd find on a Samsung QLED set. It's the perfect blend. As great as everything is on an LG OLED, it's just that much more on a Samsung model, everything just absolutely pops and jumps off the screen, it's crazy! The lack of Dolby Vision other people mention is a nothing burger. Dolby Vision is something I genuinely don't use or like and tend to turn off. It's beyond overrated and frankly, the film maker mode on this is very comparable if you want to run that. The motion is smooth and wonderful to watch, the crispness and clarity are pretty much unmatched and the sound is actually pretty decent, downright amazing if you pair it with a separate Samsung audio system to create the "Samsung Symphony" as they label it. In symphony mode, your tv pairs with your sound system basically creating a wall of sound in addition to any sort of surround you have going. We have a Samsung Atmos surround system that on its own with an older different make of tv sounded fantastic, but man... pairing it with this tv it's absolutely unbelievable with how immersive it is. Putting it through the tests I usually do with a new tv or sound system, I play a few games on it, and then have it run through some crazy scenes like in Thor Ragnarok, the big battle at the end of Avengers Endgame, and the final lightsaber battle set in the snowy dark woods at the end of the Force Awakens. Running through the first three it was nothing short of stunning, but it took it to a whole new level with Star Wars. You truly got such a sense of place with how real everything looks here and it really showed off how well the darks come through making it feel that much colder and ominous as I'd imagine the director intended with the shot. Then, when they ignited the lightsabers, it was like seeing one for the first time all over again. I can't really do it justice. The motion, the color, the brightness, etc made it feel like they were about to come right off the screen into my living room. The entire room lit up with the clashing reds and blues. Then factoring in the sound and the symphony aspect I mentioned earlier. Atmos is amazing in it's own right creating that vertical wall of sound in addition to surround, but with this tv's speakers in the mix... the sound would track across the screen and all around you in real time with the movements. If a lightsaber started in the top right and swung off the bottom left and off screen, the sound would follow it in 3 dimensions from the top left, down the bottom right and back around you to the satellite speakers. Pairing that with the incredible image of this tv, it became so immersive it tricked my mind into feeling the heat off the blades, never seen anything like it!!! I don't want to provide any negative feedback, but to keep things fair just wanted to note a couple minor things, but I'll stress they are very minor and this is still without question a 5/5 star tv, even a 10/10. The Tizen interface isn't the best I've seen, but far from the worst and not nearly as bad as I've seen others complain on here. It's fine, just it could be better too. I wish it had more app support like Peloton for example, but you can easily stream that from your phone to the tv. And final minor thing, as insanely thin as most of this set is, I was beyond nervous unpacking it and moving it. It doesn't necessarily feel super fragile, but it given it's overall size vs it's thin depth, it was a bit nerve wracking in that department. All these years wanting something like this, didn't want to damage it before it even was turned on the first time. Overall, amazing TV! I'm so happy I was finally able to get an OLED, let alone this model. I think any of the OLED options out there are really truly fantastic, but Samsung raised the bar big time and is easily leader of the pack now. Can't recommend this enough!!

Absolutely beautiful

Our prior television was difficult to see (almost impossible). We closed the shades on all our windows with little improvement. This new Samsung OLED is an absolute dream. The colors are so bright and the blacks are so black that it overcomes the light coming through the windows. We can actually see the picture even during dark scenes. It is fantastic. It is hooked up to our surround sound system and produces a theatre like experience. We are extremely happy with our purchase.

It lacks dolby vision but you don't miss it, the HDR implementation is great. You may see some judder on slow tracking shots in 24p content...due to the underlying speedy technology. But this is also the reason high speed content looks so great. Games look especially amazing. I think this is the best value in Samsung's lineup.

I also ordered the sound bar. Incredible improvement! Clarity, sound and colors are light years ahead of my ancient technology. However, note that Samsungs seem to last forever. So..2043?

Vivid color and great detail from this Samsung S90

It replaces a 59 inch Samsung plazma that was 12 years old. Also, I was surprized by how good the picture looks while viewing from the edge of the TV where my desk sits.

It has a great picture and is overall a great model. Very thin and is easy to set up. Apps., cable and gaming are all great! Highly recommended!

Excellent Picture, Lousy screen saver function

The biggest drawback is the fact that Samsung has 'built in' a screensaver function, not Ambient, that the user cannot disable. This 'feature' requires input from the remote every 2 to 5 minutes while the unit is on. Very irritating.
