    We Love It

It has been about a month and so far we love it. Unboxing and set up was not too difficult and the initial TV set up and registration process was easy. What we love the most is the picture. Hands down, best picture quality of any TV we have ever owned. Vivid, bright, and almost zero glare in our room with 2 windows. We would recommend this TV, no doubt.

Compared to my 5 year old Samsung now I can see the action in dark scenes and it is bright enough for a bright room.

    Sound Awful

    Posted .

I really like the picture but... The sound is awful even through external speakers. It is like they reprocessed the sound pulling up all of the background noise that was originally cut out through a windsock. I've turned off Amplify and it still does it. When an actor moves across the room it sounds like he is wearing lead shoes. The birds in the background in outdoor scenes, dominate the dialog. The "Ssss" sound is so amplified that when you leave the room you'd swear that you have tuned into a basketball game because it sound like rubber soles squeaking on the gym floor with all the other words are a muddled mess. To turn on /off closed captioning is a major chore, and you will need to turn it on for most dramatic content. Captions are the 13th thing on the accessibility menu, and the accessibility menu is accompanied by an annoying "Voice Over" feature for the blind person watching TV. The show you are watching in the background is muted while you navigate the accessibility menu so the the menu can talk to you so you miss a lot of what is happening on live TV! Trying to navigate with the minimalistic remote control is difficult and the voice control can't understand what I'm saying. However the TV itself has a built in microphone, and it listens to itself and pops up adds based on the content being spoken. This creepy feature can be turned off, but for us old people it was kind of a mystery. It wasn't until a show we were watching said "This is Crazy" and a list of movies with "Crazy" in the title showed up that we put 2 and 2 together. Very Stupid Smart TV that makes you wish you hadn't purchased it. How could Samsung release such a horrible TV!

Poor store experience and disappointed in Best Buy

My rating is not on the TV (never got it to work) as much as the Best Buy experience. I bought my dream TV and it was "Open Box - Excellent Condition" meaning it had all parts, checked out by their staff, etc. I took my old system apart (removed cables through conduit, cable ties), picked up the TV and unpacked it. No stand, no remote, no mounting hardware, no instructions, etc. Tried calling store, could not get through, always routed to national call center and they are no help in this type of situation. Decided I had to repack it and return it. Next bad experience, they wanted to give me missing parts and that would have been great... except they couldn't locate any in the region. Wouldn't give another one to replace it but I could buy the new one for much more (bait & switch?). I went to get the refund and the guy said let me give you a generic stand, remote, etc. I said fine with that. After disappearing for a while he then asked me to buy the stand, I said the TV was supposed to come with a stand, why do I have to pay for it? Needless to say I declined and left very unhappy with the experience. Moral, don't trust their "open box - excellent condition" claim of all the parts. Watch out when they offer to help, several hours later to wear you down and then they will ask for more money!

    Total Garbage.

I am about to return my 3rd S95c. The first one lasted 6 months, then suddenly stopped recognizing and HDMI inputs or ethernet. The replacement for that one never was able to set up or connect and was immediately returned. I just spent all night trying to connect the 3rd TV, on chat with Samsung support who seems to not know exactly what Samsung makes. This S95c is total garbage. Unreliable, glitchy. Even if it works for a short time, it will surely blow itself up eventually. Is the sound good? Who knows, I use a Sonos system so it does not matter. Is the picture good? According to some random internet tests it seems ok, but in reality the color is never perfect for whatever you are watching. There is a constant need to switch between "movie" or "film maker," or "standard" and "optimized" mode. Every show needs a new setting. Tomorrow this junk get's returned. And I may never own another Samsung TV.

    Screen goes bad.

Samsung TV displays start to malfunction after 2 years. It won't display things properly and will hang in reboot. Who wants to spend over $1000 on a TV that lasts only 2 years? I have a Samsung TV and I regret buying it. Avoid them. I would recommend LG or Sony instead over Samsung for OLED TVs. The software with Samsung TVs is buggy. And you have to do everything with the remote, which make troubleshooting problems difficult. Try to shutdown a PlayStation 5 and Samsung will reboot it after a few seconds instead. Samsung quality is declining.

      MarcianoG,

I’m sorry to hear you’re not fully satisfied with the S95C TV’s picture quality. If the image is too dim, please try disabling some of the TV's energy efficiency functions, as these will automatically adjust your picture and may cause your screen to appear brighter or darker than preferred. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Power and Energy Saving > turn off Brightness Optimization, Brightness Reduction, and Motion Lighting

You may also want to try adjusting image settings to improve your picture. Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
      1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
      2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
      3. Eco: Provided to save energy
      4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
      5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also customize the brightness level of your screen between 0 – 50 to your preference. Go to: Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
